NCT00268216
The purpose of this study is to see if fluticasone 500mcg/salmeterol 50mcg can improve the survival of subjects with COPD and also assess the long term safety profile of this drug.
NCT01808131
This study will assess the serum uric acid lowering effects and safety of lesinurad in combination with allopurinol over a long-term timeframe.
NCT02107196
Irritable Bowel Syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder characterised by chronic or recurrent abdominal pain or discomfort and diarrhoea. This trial aims at the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of oral ibodutant 10 mg once daily as compared to placebo in women with IBS-D over a 12-week treatment period.
NCT00108095
This study is looking at a range of doses of this NK-1 receptor antagonist drug, for both safety and effectiveness in prevention PONV
NCT01495442
The primary objective is to admix a radiolabel with albuterol sulphate for incorporation into the Handihaler® device for inhalation studies. This will allow for the investigators to determine the regional lung deposition of drug inhaled from the standard Handihaler® device compared to a novel modification of the device to provide more effective dispersion and aerosolization of the coated albuterol powder. The new mechanism of action for proof-of-concept testing consists of a bead (5.1 mm; expanded polystyrene foam) coated with drug powder, as opposed to the standard lactose formulation-filled capsule.
NCT00510835
The ProCESS study is large, 5-year, multicenter study of alternative resuscitation strategies for septic shock. The study hypothesizes that there are "golden hours" in the initial management of septic shock where prompt, rigorous, standardized care can improve clinical outcomes.
NCT01914757
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Benralizumab reduces the exacerbation rate in patients with a history of asthma exacerbations and uncontrolled asthma receiving ICS-LABA with or without oral corticosteroids and additional asthma controllers.
NCT00003966
RATIONALE: Giving defibrotide may be an effective treatment for liver damage that may result following peripheral stem cell transplantation. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying defibrotide to see how well it works in treating patients with severe liver disease after undergoing peripheral stem cell transplantation.
NCT00036478
The purpose of this study is to see if magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) can be used to detect damage to the mitochondria in HIV-infected patients taking nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) drugs. HIV-infected patients taking NRTI drugs may have an increase in a chemical in their blood called lactate. High lactate levels may damage the energy source of the cell (mitochondria). Damage to mitochondria may cause lactic acidosis, liver failure, and other problems. It is important to find effective ways to see if the mitochondria of HIV-infected patients have been damaged. This study will see if MRS can be used to determine mitochondrial damage.
NCT02341781
The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of lenalidomide in subjects with relapsed or refractory Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) following ibrutinib treatment. MCL subjects who require treatment after receiving ibrutinib therapy are considered a population with high unmet medical need. It is therefore of benefit to have data on the outcomes of treatment options available in this patient population. An observational study design was chosen to collect the clinical data already existing or being collected for MCL subjects being treated with lenalidomide. MCL subjects who received lenalidomide either as monotherapy or as combination treatment after having relapsed or progressed on ibrutinib treatment or were refractory or intolerant to ibrutinib treatment are eligible for the study. Lenalidomide does not need to be the next subsequent treatment after ibrutinib.
NCT00358358
This study will last for approximately 14 weeks and will involve 5 visits. The study is being carried out to look at different ways of measuring the effect of drug treatment on COPD. COPD is a respiratory disease which can affect your breathing and daily life. Symptoms of COPD can include breathlessness, cough, and wheeze. COPD varies enormously from patient to patient. The effects of drug treatment are usually measured by conducting lung function tests (breathing tests) using a machine called a spirometer but this does not always provide a complete picture of how well your COPD is responding. In this study we therefore want to look at new and more sensitive ways of measuring COPD. The results of this research will help in the assessment of new drugs for COPD in the future.
NCT02074007
Children ages 2 months to less than 19 years old, who have been diagnosed with a middle ear infection may receive either medicated ear drops (AR01) or glycerin (placebo) ear drops. The patient or caregiver will measure the amount of ear pain before and after the ear drops to establish if the medicated ear drops decrease the amount of pain more than the placebo ear drops. The subject may leave the clinic 60 minutes after the first dose. The ear drops can be used up to 4 days, as needed for ear pain.
NCT01670617
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term relief of pain and return to function for patients receiving DeNovo NT for cartilage lesions in the knee. DeNovo NT is a marketed product and has been used in more than 7,500 patients over the last 7 years.
NCT01347892
The purpose of this post-market clinical study is to collect long-term outcomes for DeNovo NT Graft treatment of articular cartilage lesions in the ankle in a standard clinical setting. Outcomes to be assessed include pain, function, activity levels and healthcare resource use.
NCT02393560
The purpose of this study is to determine presence and volume of monosodium urate (MSU) crystal deposits as determined by dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) imaging in gout subjects treated with allopurinol with and without visible tophi.
NCT02100475
This trial is conducted globally. The aim of the trial is to compare sequential addition of insulin aspart versus further dose increase with insulin degludec/liraglutide in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus, previously treated with insulin degludec/liraglutide and metformin and in need of further intensification. This is an extension to trial NN9068-3952, NCT01952145 (DUAL™ V).
NCT00943501
This trial is conducted in Europe and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this clinical trial is to investigate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (the determination of the concentration of the administered medication in blood over time) and pharmacodynamics (the determination of the effect over time and the duration of action) of multiple doses of liraglutide in the pediatric population (children).
NCT00787033
Phase 1 safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics trial of the focal adhesion kinase (FAK) inhibitor PF-04554878 in patients with advanced non-hematologic malignancies, including patients with malignancies appropriate for serial biopsy. Screening consists of medical history, physical examination ECOG performance status, blood draws, a pregnancy test for female patients of childbearing potential, a FDG-PET and tumor imaging. Treatment consists of PF-04554878 pills continued until progression of disease, unacceptable toxicity, or patient request. Evaluations for bioactivity are measured by serial FDG-PET and blood tests for biomarkers related to FAK and Pyk2 activities.
NCT01683695
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled, multiple dose study that will enroll approximately 40 systemic lupus erythematosus subjects with active lupus arthritis.
NCT01557348
This multicenter, prospective, observational study will assess the efficacy of MabThera/Rituxan (rituximab) and alternative TNF-inhibitors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who are non-responders or intolerant to a single previous TNF-inhibitor. Data will be collected from each patient from the time of change in biologic therapy for 12 months.
