NCT04847674
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of TEV-53275 administered subcutaneously (sc) in adult participants with persistent asthma and an eosinophilic phenotype compared to placebo. A secondary objective is to evaluate the efficacy of TEV-53275 compared to placebo assessed by lung function, asthma symptoms, rescue medication use, and quality of life measures. Another secondary objective is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of TEV-53275 administered sc in adult participants with persistent asthma and an eosinophilic phenotype compared with placebo, and lastly, to evaluate the immunogenicity of TEV-53275 administered sc in adult participants with persistent asthma and an eosinophilic phenotype.

NCT00134030
This randomized phase III trial is studying combination chemotherapy followed by surgery and two different combination chemotherapy regimens with or without PEG-interferon alfa-2b to compare how well they work in treating patients with osteosarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. Biological therapies, such as PEG-interferon alfa-2b, may interfere with the growth of tumor cells. Giving combination chemotherapy before surgery may shrink the tumor so it can be removed. Giving combination chemotherapy together with PEG-interferon alfa-2b after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells. It is not yet known whether giving combination therapy together with PEG-interferon alfa-2b is more effective than two different combination chemotherapy regimens alone after surgery in treating osteosarcoma.
NCT05327244
People with chronic ankle instability (CAI) demonstrate altered gait or walking mechanics which cause people to walk on the outside of their foot and increases the risk of additional ankle sprains, abnormal cartilage strain, and early joint degeneration. Evidence indicates that common treatments for CAI do not impact gait, leaving unresolved impairments that can lead to lifelong disability. Recent lab-based gait retraining with visual and auditory feedback has immediately improved walking mechanics. However, real-world training is hypothesized to generate long-term changes by incorporating short, frequent training sessions over a variety of surfaces. These are key training parameters to produce lasting change. Pilot data using real-world vibration feedback (RW-VF) suggest that a single session immediately improves walking mechanics with changes lasting for up to 5 minutes. Despite promising initial results, there remains a critical need to determine the impact of multiple RW-VF sessions as an initial step to developing a protocol capable of long-term improvements. The purpose of this proposal is to determine the extent to which 2-weeks of RW-VF restores gait biomechanics in those with CAI. Twenty people with CAI will be enrolled and complete a two-week gait retraining protocol with vibration feedback. Walking mechanics before, immediately after, and 1 week and 4 weeks following the training will be compared. These contributions can be significant as positive results will support a paradigm shift in treatments for people with CAI and lay the foundation for large scale clinical trials aimed at optimizing long term gains. The outcomes of future research have the potential to advance evidenced based rehabilitation interventions not only for people with CAI but also for people who have sustained a variety of musculoskeletal injuries as there is strong evidence that other lower extremity pathologies cause lifelong limitations, including changes in walking mechanics which lead to degenerative changes to other joints.
NCT01711541
This partially randomized phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of veliparib when given together with combination chemotherapy and to see how well they work in treating patients with stage IV head and neck cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, cisplatin, and fluorouracil, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Veliparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective when given with or without veliparib in treating head and neck cancer.
NCT04048876
This is a Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter, multinational, dose-finding study evaluating the efficacy of three treatment doses of CC-90001 compared with placebo, in Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) participants with Stage 2, Stage 3 liver fibrosis. This study is designed to assess response to treatment on measures of fibrosis and other efficacy parameters. It will also assess dose response and overall safety.
NCT03657160
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of vedolizumab when added to background aGvHD prophylaxis regimen compared to placebo and background aGvHD prophylaxis regimen on intestinal aGvHD-free survival by Day +180 in participants who receive allo-HSCT as treatment for a hematologic malignancy or myeloproliferative disorder.
NCT05596500
This study is the human clinical trial component of an SBIR grant with Sinnovatek (funded). Cyclists (n=20) will consume a blueberry-protein, blueberry, or placebo supplement for 2 weeks prior to cycling for 2.5 h at high intensity. Washout periods (2 weeks) will separate the 3 trials, and the cyclists will crossover (randomized) to one of the two others supplements for 2 weeks, and then engage in additional 2.5 h cycling bouts. Blood and urine samples will be collected pre- and post-supplementation for each of the 3 trials. Blood samples will also be collected immediately after and 1.5h- and 24h-post-exercise. Blood samples will be analyzed for inflammation and oxidative stress outcomes. Urine samples will be analyzed for blueberry gut-derived phenolics.
NCT04521920
The purpose of this study is to provide medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) with buprenorphine and naloxone, or bup/nx, and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention for persons who inject opioids accessing syringe services programs (SSPs), as part of a comprehensive harm reduction program, and assess the acceptability and feasibility of using telemedicine to implement the program. The initial visit will be conducted in person or remotely via telemedicine given COVID-19 protocols at the SSP sites in Charlotte and Wilmington, North Carolina (NC); follow-up visits will be conducted via telemedicine.
NCT03397394
The purpose of the ATLAS study is to determine how patients with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic urothelial carcinoma respond to treatment with rucaparib.
NCT02066181
This randomized phase III trial compares the effects, good and/or bad, of sorafenib tosylate in treating patients with desmoid tumors or aggressive fibromatosis. Sorafenib tosylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the proteins needed for cell growth. \[Funding Source - FDA OOPD\]
NCT01682616
This is a Phase 1b, open-label, multicenter study evaluating the safety and tolerability of ABT-199 in combination with rituximab in up to 50 subjects with Relapsed Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma. The primary objectives of this study are to assess the safety profile, to determine the maximum tolerated dose and establish the Recommended Phase Two Dose of ABT-199 when administered in combination with rituximab. The dose escalation portion of the study will include approximately 30 subjects. Once the recommended phase two dose and schedule have been determined, up to 20 additional subjects will be enrolled in an expanded safety portion of the study. Subjects who meet criteria for CR, CRi, or MRD-negative PR during the study may discontinue ABT 199. If disease progression occurs, as defined by iwCLL NCI/WG criteria for tumor response, or MRD progression, subjects may re-initiate ABT-199.
