This single arm study will determine the maximum tolerated dose, and recommended dose for further development, of R547, in patients with advanced solid tumors. Groups of patients will receive ascending doses of R547 as weekly intravenous infusions administered over a) 90 minutes and b) 180 minutes, on days 1 and 8 of a 21 day cycle. In the absence of dose-limiting toxicity following the starting dose, incremental dose-escalations will be allowed in subsequent cohorts of patients until the maximum tolerated dose is reached. While all of these drugs are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of other cancers, these combinations are experimental for the treatment of CLL.

This 6 arm study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of multiple doses and regimens of a GLP-1 analogue in patients with type 2 diabetes who are treated with a stable dose of metformin. Patients will be randomized to receive either subcutaneous placebo, or subcutaneous GLP-1 analogue, 5mg, 10mg or 20mg weekly, or 10mg or 20mg every 2 weeks. All patients will continue on their existing metformin treatment regimen throughout the study. This randomized, open-label, multicenter study will evaluate the safety , efficacy and tolerability of the combination treatment RO5466731, RO5190591, ritonavir and Copegus (ribavirin) with or without RO5024048 in patients with chronic hepatitis C genotype 1. In Part 1, treatment-naïve patients will be randomized to receive treatment with RO5466731, RO5190591 plus ritonavir, and Copegus, with or without RO5024048. In Part 2, further treatment-naïve patients will receive a successful regimen from Part 1, or a reduced intensity regimen, and patients who have previously experienced null response to interferon-based treatment will be added to the study.

This study will investigate the effect of renal impairment on the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of GK Activator (2) in patients with type 2 diabetes, and will evaluate the effect of renal function on the safety of the drug. Patients will be assigned to treatment groups according to their renal function (normal, moderate renal impairment, or severe renal impairment). After a 1 week washout period from current oral anti-diabetic treatment, all patients will receive a single oral dose of 100mg GK Activator (2), and blood and urine samples will be taken up to 96h post-dose.
