This expanded access study has being designed following a demand from the FDA, given the increase in the number of request for single patient INDs for lorlatinib
NCT02994979
Delirium is an acute confusion that occurs in one third of hospitalized older adults. As compared to those without delirium, hospitalized patients with delirium have longer hospital stays, higher mortality, and increased risk of nursing home utilization. Substantial attention has been paid to developing, testing, and disseminating interventions to prevent delirium in the hospital but, to date, not in the nursing home setting. In a previous study we used known information on delirium risk factors to develop an intervention that can be delivered at onset of acute illness in nursing home patients. The current study is designed to test the effect of this intervention in a single-site clinical trial. Objectives: 1) to determine, as compared to control, the effect of a multicomponent intervention targeting delirium risk factors on delirium frequency, delirium severity, cognitive and physical function decline, and hospitalization in nursing home patients with acute illness, and 2) to identify features of the intervention associated with occurrence of delirium and other outcomes. Approach: We will screen nursing home patients on 17 long-term care units at a large, urban nursing home who experience onset of a change in condition according to established criteria, and enroll and assign them to intervention or control in a 1:1 ratio. Those assigned to intervention will receive daily visits from an Elder Life Specialist, a mobile Certified Nursing Assistant trained to provide services to counter risks for delirium, including dehydration, immobility, cognitive impairment, undernutrition, and sleep problems, for the duration of the acute illness and for 1 week following. Patients assigned to control will receive usual care from the unit-based nurses and the patient's primary team. Delirium will be assessed 5 days a week by a research assistant. Cognitive and physical function decline and hospital transfer will be ascertained during a 1 month follow-up period. We will compare outcomes between intervention and control, as well as examine associations between outcomes and intervention features such as number and duration of visits.
NCT02700256
The purpose of this pilot study is to find out if patients are willing to self-report symptoms in the first 5 days following discharge, or when they leave the hospital after "ambulatory surgery" ("ambulatory surgery" is when the patient has surgery and then goes home within 24 hours).
NCT01482923
"A treatment session especially for PLWHA to help them discuss and take action about their smoking may be useful."
NCT00326209
To evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of encapsulated mesalamine Granules (eMG) (formerly referred to as Mesalamine Pellets \[MP\]) in participants with ulcerative colitis currently in remission.
NCT00859469
In patients with pleural or peritoneal mesothelioma, what is the response rate to combined Oxaliplatin (ELOXATIN®) and Gemcitabine chemotherapy?
NCT00771953
The primary objective is to determine the anti-tumor activity of the combination of apricoxib + either docetaxel (AP/DC) or pemetrexed (AP/PE) compared with placebo + either docetaxel (P/DC) or pemetrexed (P/PE) as measured by progression free survival in patients with Stage IIIb (pleural effusion)or Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
NCT02959268
This is a Prospective open-label, comparative pivotal study with comparison of self-assessments with blinded investigator assessments. Pregnant women attending the labor and delivery unit of the hospital or emergency clinic and reporting unidentified wetness (undetermined whether this is amniotic fluid leakage or urinary incontinence) will be enrolled in this study. After informed consent is obtained, each subject will be given a single AL-SENSE to use up to 12 hours or until the perception of wetness. Product Usage After usage, the subject will read and record any occurrence of color change of the AL-SENSE 10 minutes after the liner removal and to mark if it changes color to blue or to green or not on the designated form. The subjects will fill out the questionnaire regarding the product usage experience and the liner color reading with no help from the investigator, to validate IFU reading comprehension. A blinded clinician will perform a "standard clinical diagnosis" (clinical assessment). The standard clinical diagnostic methods will include the following tests: (1) Pooling test, (2) Ferning test, (3) pH test by pH paper. A positive Pooling test and/or positive results in both the pH test and the Ferning test will be defined as a positive clinical test result.
NCT00038129
The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a difference in the rate of healing of a tibia fracture treated with an intramedullary nail based on whether or not the bone was reamed prior to nail insertion.
NCT00915083
The purpose of the study is to determine whether amrubicin is safe and effective in the treatment of patients with advanced solid tumors. The study will assess the pharmacokinetics of the amrubicin and if it has an effect on the heart.
NCT00505414
The purpose of this study is to determine whether CG5503 (tapentadol) is effective and safe in the treatment of chronic tumor related pain compared to placebo.
NCT01413087
This is a multicenter, open label, randomized, phase 2b study, designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of patients with locally advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma following intratumoral administration of BC-819 and intravenously administered gemcitabine. Intratumoral injections of BC-819 will be performed using endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Primary Objective: To assess the effect of intratumoral endoscopic ultrasound injection of BC-819 administered with intravenous gemcitabine on progression-free survival. Secondary Objectives: To compare the effects of intratumoral injection of BC-819 administered in combination with intravenous gemcitabine vs. intravenous gemcitabine alone on: Overall survival, Response rate, Resectability of the target tumor lesion, Quality of life, Safety, Serological Tumor Marker: CA 19-9, Duration of response, Failure-free survival
NCT01896128
Armodafinil is an FDA approved medication with wakefulness-promoting properties. It is a relatively safe agent with interesting neurochemical effects on the catecholamine system, producing an improvement in cognitive function, particularly working memory in humans. When combined with intensive task-related training, armodafinil may accelerate motor recovery in chronic stroke patients. The primary aim of this study is to determine whether administration of armodafinil during subacute post-stroke rehabilitation will augment cortical plasticity and enhance motor recovery. The primary hypothesis suggests that cortical plasticity will be enhanced by armodafinil and, therefore, will induce an improvement in motor function and better performances on measures of motor control.
NCT03155802
This is a pilot prospective cohort study, in adult female subjects 18-85 years old with a diagnosis of invasive breast cancer who are planned for anthracycline-inclusive chemotherapy and followed up for a time period of 6 months post completion of anthracycline chemotherapy. They will participate in blood and imaging tests with a goal of determining the best method for predicting the occurrence of cardiotoxicity in this subpopulation.
