NCT00475306
Metoclopramide is a dopamine antagonist frequently used for the treatment of nausea, vomiting, and migraine headaches in Emergency Departments. However, little research has focused on the optimal dose of metoclopramide for treatment of nausea in the emergency department. We propose a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled trial to investigate the optimal dose of metoclopramide for treatment of nausea.
NCT01013480
Study 22001, "A Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Flexible-Dose Evaluation of the Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of STX209 in the Treatment of Irritability in Subjects with Fragile X Syndrome" currently is evaluating the efficacy of STX209 (R-baclofen) for management of typical problem behaviors, such as irritability and aggression, in subjects with FXS. This study (22002) will enter subjects who complete Study 22001 into a long-term, open-label study. The open-label extension protocol will provide necessary data on the long-term safety and tolerability of STX209 among subjects with FXS who receive treatment under conditions more closely reflective of their general medical care.
NCT00355797
This is a randomized, prospective, single-blinded, multi-center study involving approximately 1500 patients at 100 centers. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of Closed Loop Stimulation (CLS) rate adaption technology over both standard rate responsive technology (R) and non-rate responsive mode (DDD) during activities of daily living (ADL).
NCT01399112
The investigators propose to recruit patients who have experienced a recent first episode of psychosis who have a chart diagnosis of Schizophrenia, Schizophrenifom, Schizoaffective Disorder, Psychosis NOS, or Bipolar I Disorder with psychotic features and self identify themselves as a current cigarette smoker. Aiding this population with smoking cessation is crucial as the majority of people with schizophrenia spectrum disorders (50-90%) smoke, which is leading to early mortality. While these individuals can benefit from standard evidence-based treatment, these treatments are underutilized. Web based programs, such as the EDSS and thetruth.com, can provide education and motivational tools to help people with a recent onset of psychosis use evidence-based smoking cessation treatments. This study aims to test these two web-based programs among young people with a recent episode of psychosis for usability and likeability and to explore whether use of these two programs will motivate users to seek smoking cessation treatment or to engage in other quitting behaviors in the month following use of the programs. Information gathered from this proposal will be used to help the researchers decide whether either of these two programs will be reasonable to include in a larger study of a comprehensive treatment for individuals with first episode psychosis.
NCT01710033
This was a Phase 1 dose escalation study to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of 28-day treatment of CP-690,550 in stable renal allograft recipients. In Stage 1, ascending doses of CP-690,550 were to be administered sequentially to 3-4 cohorts of subjects. After Stage 1, one dose level was to be selected for dosing in an expanded cohort in Stage 2.
NCT00006343
RATIONALE: Biological therapies such as interferon-alfa and STI571 may interfere with the growth of cancer cells. It is not yet known if STI571 is more effective than interferon alfa plus cytarabine for chronic myelogenous leukemia. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of STI571 with that of interferon alfa plus cytarabine in treating patients who have newly diagnosed chronic myelogenous leukemia.
NCT00986180
Evaluate how NUCYNTA (tapentadol) immediate release (IR) compares with oxycodone IR in the treatment of acute low back pain.
NCT00295750
The study was a three-arm, active-control, multi-centre, parallel group study.
NCT00845429
Primary Objective: To describe the immune response to a single administration of 2 formulations of the investigational cell-based influenza vaccines in healthy adult subjects. Secondary Objective: To describe the safety following a single administration of 2 formulations of the investigational cell-based influenza vaccines in healthy adult subjects.
NCT01064973
Study 22003, "An Open-Label, Flexible-Dose Evaluation of the Safety and Tolerability of STX209 for Treatment of Irritability in Subjects With Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD)" currently is evaluating the efficacy of STX209 (R-baclofen) for management of typical problem behaviors, such as irritability and aggression, in subjects with ASD. This study (22007) will enter subjects who complete Study 22003 into a long-term, open-label study. The open-label extension protocol will provide necessary data on the long-term safety and tolerability of STX209 among subjects with ASD who receive treatment under conditions more closely reflective of their general medical care.
NCT00540358
The purpose of this clinical trial was to determine whether combining iniparib (BSI-201) with standard chemotherapy in estrogen receptor (ER)-negative, progesterone receptor (PR)-negative, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative metastatic breast cancer patients improve clinical benefit compared to treatment with standard chemotherapy alone. Based on data generated by BiPar/Sanofi, it was concluded that iniparib does not possess characteristics typical of the poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor class. The exact mechanism has not yet been fully elucidated, however based on experiments on tumor cells performed in the laboratory, iniparib is a novel investigational anti-cancer agent that induces gamma-H2AX (a marker of DNA damage) in tumor cell lines, induces cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase in tumor cell lines, and potentiates the cell cycle effects of DNA damaging modalities in tumor cell lines. Investigations into potential targets of iniparib and its metabolites are ongoing.
NCT00414661

NCT00919178
Infection with dengue viruses is one of the leading causes of hospitalization and death in children in several tropical Asian counties. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that these viruses are responsible for more than 50 million cases of dengue fever (DF) and approximately 0.5 million cases of the more severe disease, dengue hemorrhagic fever/ shock syndrome (DHF/DSS) annually. Because dengue viruses are endemic in most tropical and subtropical regions, keeping more than 2 billion persons at risk for acquiring dengue, the WHO has made development of a dengue vaccine a top priority. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a candidate DEN4 vaccine aimed at preventing infection with dengue virus serotype 4.
