This randomized, multi-center double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of RO4917838 (bitopertin) in patients with sub-optimally controlled symptoms of schizophrenia. Patients, on stable treatment with antipsychotics, will be randomized to receive daily oral doses of RO4917838 or matching placebo for 52 weeks, followed by an optional treatment extension for up to 3 years.

This study will assess the safety and efficacy of once-daily administration of Fuzeon compared with twice-daily administration in HIV-1 infected patients who have received prior treatment. This 2 arm study will compare the safety and efficacy, with regard to reduction of signs and symptoms, of tocilizumab versus placebo in combination with traditional Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug (DMARD) therapy in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have had an inadequate response to current DMARD therapy. Patients will be randomized to receive tocilizumab 8mg/kg iv or placebo iv every 4 weeks, in conjunction with stable DMARD therapy. This equally randomized (1:1), double-blind, parallel arm study will assess the safety and antiviral efficacy of RO5024048 added to standard Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) plus Copegus (ribavirin) therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 or 4. Patients in arm A will receive RO5024048 (1000mg orally twice daily) for 24 weeks in addition to Pegasys (180 micrograms sc weekly) and Copegus (1000mg or 1200mg orally daily). Patients achieving a rapid virological response (RVR) at week 4, sustained through week 22, will stop all treatment at week 24; non-RVR patients will continue treatment with Pegasys and Copegus for another 24 weeks up to week 48. Patients in arm B will receive standard treatment with Pegasys (180 micrograms sc weekly) and Copegus (1000mg or 1200mg orally daily) for 48 weeks. Anticipated time on study treatment is up to 48 weeks. Target sample size is \<200.

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel arm study will assess efficacy and safety and the effects of taspoglutide on cardiovascular events in patients with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease. Patients will be randomized to receive either taspoglutide subcutaneously (sc) 10mg weekly for 4 weeks followed by 20mg sc weekly, or weekly sc placebo, in addition to background anti-hyperglycemic medication and standard of care treatment for cardiovascular disease. This 2 part study will assess the safety, tolerability and efficacy of a combination of oral daily RAD001 and intravenous 3-weekly R1507 in patients with advanced solid tumors. In Part 1 of the study, patients will be enrolled sequentially to receive 5mg by mouth (po) RAD001 daily + 16mg/kg intravenous (iv) R1507 every 3 weeks (level 1) and if tolerated, 10mg po RAD001 daily + 16mg/kg iv R1507 every 3 weeks (level 2).In Part 2 of the study, patients with 1) advanced renal cell cancer and 2) advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors will receive the maximum tolerated dose regimen from Part 1 (5mg or 10mg po RAD001 + 16mg/kg iv R1507). The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

This single center, multiple ascending dose study will assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of RO4905417 at different doses in healthy volunteers and patients with peripheral arterial disease. Three groups of 10 healthy volunteers will receive RO4905417 (either 3mg/kg, 7mg/kg or 20mg/kg) or placebo iv every 28 days for a total of 3 infusions. In addition, two groups of 6 PAD patients will receive RO4905417 (either 3mg/kg, 7mg/kg) or placebo and 1 group of 20 PAD patients will receive 20mg/kg RO4905417 or placebo iv every 28 days for a total of three infusions. The study will have an adaptive design with ongoing assessment of safety and tolerability prior to initiation of the next dose. All subjects will receive 3 doses of RO4905417 or matching placebo at 28 day intervals. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is \<100 individuals.

This 2 stage study will compare the pharmacokinetics and safety profile of subcutaneous and intravenous rituximab in participants with follicular lymphoma. In the first stage, participants who have achieved at least a partial response after induction treatment with intravenous rituximab will be randomized to one of 3 treatment cohorts, to receive rituximab 375 milligram per square meter (mg/m\^2) intravenously, 375 mg/m\^2 subcutaneously or 625 mg/m\^2 subcutaneously, and pharmacokinetics evaluated on an ongoing basis. Upon selection of the subcutaneous dose (800 mg/m\^2) which results in rituximab trough plasma concentration (C trough) values comparable to those achieved with the intravenous formulation, participants in the second stage of the study will be randomized to receive either the subcutaneous or intravenous formulation to demonstrate comparability of the C trough levels with both routes of administration. Maintenance therapy will continue every 2 or 3 months with the subcutaneous formulation.
