NCT00546637
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of fesoterodine on overactive bladder symptom improvement when added to ongoing alpha blocker treatment.
NCT00000444
This study will attempt to determine the best time to begin a smoking cessation program in individuals who undergo intensive treatment for alcohol dependence. The goal of this trial is to determine whether a smoking cessation program is more effective if it occurs at the same time as or after treatment for alcohol dependence. The study also will attempt to determine the effect of smoking cessation programs on the outcome of treatment for alcohol dependence.
NCT01131091
This is a Phase 1, multicenter, open label, single dose study. A total of 30 subjects are planned (5 groups of 6 subjects each.)
NCT00812058
The purpose of this study is to test a new drug, RG2417, to see how the drug affects symptoms of bipolar I depression and to make sure it is safe in humans.
NCT00788944
This is a study to determine the percentage of patients with depression who are treated with extended-release venlafaxine HCl (U.S. marketed brand Effexor XR®) who are Poor Metabolizers (based on the levels of the drug in the blood) at 2D6 (a system in the liver that breaks down some medications and other chemicals).
NCT00573170
Study TRX109011/TRX109013, A Randomized, Double-blind, Double-dummy, Placebo-controlled, Crossover Study to Evaluate the Efficacy of TREXIMET® (Sumatriptan + Naproxen Sodium) versus Butalbital-containing Combination Medications (BCM) for the Acute Treatment of Migraine when administered during the Moderate-Severe Pain Phase of the Migraine (Studies 1 and 2 of 2)
NCT00449527
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate whether subjects respond similarly to the Onset of Effect Questionnaire (OEQ) using a 1 week recall period versus a 1 day recall period.
NCT00797797
To evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of milnacipran when taken with another drug called pregabalin in people with fibromyalgia.
NCT00251992
The aim is to evaluate if the resolution of upper abdominal symptoms (pain or burning) during an acid suppressive test trial of esomprazole given daily for 7 days predicts symptoms resolution at the end of a subsequent treatment period of 7 weeks.
NCT00326053
The purpose of this study is to compare the Symbicort® Turbuhaler® to both Pulmicort® Turbuhaler® and Bricanyl® Turbuhaler® for the treatment of asthma after discharge from the emergency room
NCT00372775
This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of SU011248 in patients with non-small cell lung cancer with brain metastases.
NCT00882024
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether tranilast at two different dosages compared to placebo is effective in patients with active RA when added to continuing methotrexate (MTX) therapy.
NCT00329004
The purpose of this research study is to determine the highest dose of the drug (BMS-690514) that can be safely given to patients with advanced cancer.
NCT00241540
This study is a randomised, double-blind, parallel-group and placebo controlled study comparing the efficacy of esomeprazole 40 mg orally qd vs. placebo and esomeprazole 20 mg orally qd vs. placebo when given to patients on continuous use of NSAIDs, including COX-2 selective NSAIDs, for a period of 4 weeks in treatment of relief of upper GI symptoms.
NCT00554359
This is a Phase 1, randomized, double-blind, dose escalation, safety and pharmacokinetic study. The study will be conducted in approximately 8-10 centers in the United States and Switzerland. Up to 32 patients who have undergone major cardiovascular surgery will participate. Patients will receive a single IV injection of I5NP or placebo following cardiovascular surgery. I5NP will be administered 4 hours (+/- 30 minutes) following removal of the cardiopulmonary bypass machine (CBM). The duration of the study is approximately 44 days, inclusive of a 14 day screening period. Patients will be contacted by phone at 6 and 12 months for follow-up questions. Patient visits are screening, day of surgery, hospital in-patient Days 1, 2, 3 and Day 7 or hospital discharge. Safety follow-up will continue until 30 days post-surgery. 2 phone calls will be made at 6 and 12 months after date of surgery.
NCT00739934
In this study we will measure the concentration of the drug called voriconazole which is used to fight infections caused by fungus in children who usually are cancer patients and have their immune system down. Since we know the dose in adults, and we think we know the matching doses in the young patients ages 2 to 12 years old, we will compare the amount of drug that goes into the system with what we know works in adults. We give the drug by a needle directly into the blood, then few days later we stop that and give the drug by mouth. Meanwhile, we draw a little bit of blood at certain times to measure the drug in it.
NCT00452426
Patients routinely receive sedation during a colonoscopy or upper endoscopy (esophagogastroduodenoscopy; EGD) procedure. Propofol is a sedative that can be used during these procedures. The purpose of this study is to determine if this CAPS device enables a physician/registered nurse (RN) team to safely and effectively administer propofol sedation during colonoscopy or EGD procedures relative to current sedation practices.
NCT00351910
To evaluate the efficacy of quetiapine fumarate sustained release (Seroquel SR™) in combination with an antidepressant versus an antidepressant alone in patients with Major Depressive Disorder. PLEASE NOTE: Seroquel SR and Seroquel XR refer to the same formulation. The SR designation was changed to XR after consultation with FDA.
NCT00779688
This registry will collect data from patients routinely undergoing an ERCP and Cellvizio endomicroscopy procedure (and optionally an additional cholangiopancreatoscopy procedure) due to suspected pancreatic or bile duct cancer. The objective is to determine if endomicroscopy images collected using the marketed Cellvizio device may help endoscopists more accurately diagnose, in conjunction with traditional tissue sampling techniques, whether a suspected lesion is malignant or benign.
NCT00076232
Genital herpes (HSV-2) is the most common cause of genital sores worldwide, and the presence of genital sores is a significant risk factor for becoming infected with HIV. This study will test the effectiveness of twice-daily dosing of acyclovir, a commonly prescribed anti-herpes drug, in preventing HIV infection in HSV-2 infected women who sleep with men (WSM) and men who sleep with men (MSM). Study hypothesis: Given that genital herpes is a significant risk factor to HIV acquisition, twice-daily HSV-2 suppressive therapy - 400 mg of acyclovir - will prevent HIV infection among high risk, HSV-2 seropositive WSM and MSM.
