The purpose of this blinded, multi-center, prospective, case-controlled study is to compare the Ariosa Harmony™ Prenatal Test for trisomy 21 detection with a standard first-trimester prenatal screening test consisting of serum screening (PAPP-A,free beta-hCG \[β-hCG\] or total hCG) and a nuchal translucency (NT) measurement (i.e. combined first trimester screening) in a general screened population. The performance characteristics of these two test modalities will be assessed relative to the clinical reference standard of genetic analysis of the fetus or phenotypic characterization and genetic analysis of the newborn.

This study will examine whether the amount and type of fat, mono-unsaturated fat (MUFA) vs. poly-unsaturated fat (PUFA), in a meal affects the absorption of vitamin D, which is taken after that meal. The study hypothesis is that vitamin D3 absorption will be greater when fat is present vs. absent in the meal. A secondary hypothesis is that vitamin D3 absorption will be greater in the presence of a meal with a high MUFA/PUFA compared with a low MUFA/PUFA ratio.

Specific Aim: To establish the feasibility of studying the change in endothelial function caused by induced moderate hyperbilirubinemia in type 1 diabetes. Atazanavir, a drug that inhibits bilirubin conjugation, will be used to induce moderate hyperbilirubinemia. Endothelial function will be measured before and after atazanavir therapy. In addition, plasma markers of antioxidant capacity and oxidant stress will be measured as proof-of-concept that induced moderate hyperbilirubinemia has favorable effects on oxidative stress in type 1 diabetes.

This study evaluates a novel micrografting technique to see how it will influence the healing rate and cosmetic result of second intention wounds. The graft harvesting and micrografting process was designed by MoMelan Technologies The Epidermal Expansion System, which is composed of a commercially available Blister Generation Device and the Microblister Generation and Excision Device (MBGED), will generate an array of small microblisters and transfer the micrografts to a sterile dressing (Tegaderm™ - an FDA approved wound dressing) for application to the subject's surgical area. The investigators predict that applying expanded micrografts to wounds that otherwise would have healed by second intention alone will hasten healing and possible reduce scarring.

Dasatinib is a drug that has been shown to stop some cancer cells from growing. This drug has been used in treatment for other types of cancer and information from other research studies suggests that dasatinib may help to stop squamous cell lung cancer from growing, especially in individuals whose tumor has a mutation in the DDR2 gene. Advanced squamous cell lung cancer (SqCC) carries a poor prognosis and new therapeutic targets are needed. Several studies have examined dasatinib in NSCLC; these report significant toxicities, but also responses in patients found to harbor mutations in DDR2 or BRAF. An open-label phase II trial with dasatinib was carried out to determine the response rates in patients with SqCC who had previously failed standard chemotherapy and to correlate responses with patient genotype.

Almost 200,000 veterans are homeless each night, about one-quarter to one-third of homeless adults in the U.S. Half need treatment for a substance use disorder, usually alcohol dependence, but sobriety is often required to access alcohol treatment and housing services. A monthly injection of depot naltrexone is efficacious in reducing alcohol use, but it is expensive and restricted in many VA Medical Centers. Oral naltrexone is more available but seldom used because of adherence problems that limit effectiveness. This open-label pilot study would compare the effect of depot versus oral naltrexone to help twenty homeless, alcohol-dependent veterans decrease their drinking, achieve sobriety and qualify for housing services. This study's findings could expand access to effective medication-assisted alcohol treatment in the VA, and thus help homeless veterans with alcohol problems improve their drinking, housing status, and appropriate use of health services.

This study tests the safety and effectiveness of ustekinumab or golimumab compared to placebo (placebo looks like the drugs being studied, but has no active ingredients). The purpose of this research study is to determine if ustekinumab or golimumab is safe and to determine its effects (good and bad) on patients with chronic sarcoidosis with pulmonary and/or skin involvement. Patients with pulmonary involvement constitute the primary population for analysis, and patients with skin involvement constitute the secondary population; a patient may be in both populations. The study will be conducted at approximately 40 sites globally.

PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of colony-stimulating factors in treating children who have recurrent or refractory solid tumors and who are receiving chemotherapy.
