NCT01966419
The purpose of this study is to determine whether ornithine phenylacetate can speed recovery from an acute hepatic encephalopathy episode requiring hospitalization in cirrhotic patients.
NCT04859777
This is a Phase 1/1b open-label, dose-escalation, and cohort expansion study with BID (tablet) oral dose of MPT-0118 in subjects with advanced or metastatic refractory solid tumors. The study will be conducted in 3 parts: * Part A: MPT-0118 dose-escalation * Part B: MPT-0118 dose-escalation in combination with pembrolizumab * Part C: Cohort expansion of MPT-0118 in combination with pembrolizumab
NCT03633877
While adhesive tape is commonly used to secure endotracheal tubes (ETT) during general anesthesia, its use is also associated with facial skin injuries. Although a variety of adhesive tapes are used in clinical practice, few studies have investigated the likelihood of adhesives in producing injury. The purpose of this randomized, controlled, non-inferiority study was to compare the proportion of facial skin injury with Durapore™ vs. Hy-Tape®.
NCT04574388
This research aims to understand the impact of conditioned open label placebo (COLP) on opioid consumption and pain after surgery. The hypothesis being tested is that by pairing a non-deceptive placebo pill with regularly prescribed pain killers after surgery, will allow reduction in opioids taken while maintaining the same level of analgesia.
NCT03619408
The goal of this study is to prospectively evaluate the impact of antacid therapy on esophagitis in children with repaired esophageal atresia. Recent clinical guidelines have attempted to define a systematic approach to the management of these patients with regards to minimizing and treating esophagitis (Krishnan et al 2016), however the quality of evidence supporting many of the recommendations are based on expert opinion or on limited, retrospective studies. Risk factors for esophagitis and optimal length of antacid therapy are not well defined. Through this study, we aim to identify risk factors for the presence of esophagitis in patients with repaired esophageal atresia. We hypothesize that antacid therapy improves esophagitis severity in children following esophageal repair.
NCT02423343
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the study drug known as galunisertib in combination with nivolumab in participants with advanced refractory solid tumors and in recurrent or refractory non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
NCT03679845
An open-label single center trial studying the efficacy and safety of sarilumab on morphea patients.
NCT03866317
Discoid lupus erythematosus is a chronic inflammatory skin condition and may lead to itch, skin pain, open sores, scarring, disfigurement and hair loss. Studies have shown that IL-17A may play a major role in inflammation and in the pathogenesis of discoid lupus. Treatment of discoid lupus sometimes is a challenge and unresponsive to current therapies. Secukinumab, an anti-IL-17A monoclonal antibody has been safe and effective in the treatment of psoriasis. The investigators propose to study the efficacy and safety of secukinumab in discoid lupus.
NCT04181658
This pilot work will determine the feasibility of tDCS intervention as an effective adjunct intervention to PT aimed at improving gait, balance, and mobility in older adults at risk of falling.
NCT02685631
This research registry studies Yttrium Y 90 resin microspheres in collecting data from patients with liver cancer not capable of being removed by surgery (unresectable) for the radiation-emitting Selective Internal Radiation-Spheres (SIR-spheres) in non-resectable (RESIN) liver tumor registry. The information generated will help doctors better understand treatment patterns involving Y90 therapy, gain additional insights in the long-term outcomes for patients, as well as guide future research for using Y90 therapy, especially for those conditions where data is currently very limited or lacking.
NCT03631732
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of switching from a regimen of 2 nucleos(t)Ide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) and a third agent to a fixed dose combination (FDC) of bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (B/F/TAF) versus continuing their baseline regimen in HIV-1 infected, virologically suppressed African American participants.
NCT04658017
To evaluate the feasibility of performing combined hemodialysis with the GARNET device in chronic hemodialysis patients with a blood stream infection (BSI), and measure clinical performance and safety endpoints.
NCT04383730
The authors hypothesized that inhaled sedation, either with isoflurane or sevoflurane, might be associated with improved clinical outcomes in patients with COVID-19-related ARDS, compared to intravenous sedation. The authors therefore designed the "Inhaled Sedation for COVID-19-related ARDS" (ISCA) non-interventional, observational, multicenter study of data collected from the patients' medical records in order to: 1. assess the efficacy of inhaled sedation in improving a composite outcome of mortality and time off the ventilator at 28 days in patients with COVID-19-related ARDS, in comparison to a control group receiving intravenous sedation (primary objective), 2. investigate the effects of inhaled sedation, compared to intravenous sedation, on lung function as assessed by gas exchange and physiologic measures in patients with COVID-19-related ARDS (secondary objective), 3. report sedation practice patterns in critically ill patients during the COVID-19 pandemics (secondary objective).
NCT02626000
The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the safety, as assessed by incidence of dose limiting toxicity (DLT), of talimogene laherparepvec in combination with pembrolizumab in adults with recurrent or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN).
NCT00171730
Acromegaly is a rare, serious condition characterized by chronic hypersecretion of growth hormone (GH), generally caused by a GH-secreting pituitary adenoma. The study assessed the long-term safety and efficacy of pasireotide in participants with acromegaly.
NCT03758885
The primary objective of this study is to confirm the efficacy of a single oral 900 mg dose of nolasiban versus placebo to increase the ongoing clinical pregnancy rate at 10 weeks post-embryo transfer (ET) day.
NCT04152629
This study is a four-month, phase IV, open-label study of ADHD symptomatology and functional outcomes in pediatric (6 to 17 years old) and adult (≥18 years or older) patients with ADHD treated with FOQUEST or VYVANSE.
NCT01646437
The randomized 2x2x2 factorial design placebo controlled trial will enroll 5000 participants (women 60 years or older and men 55 years or older) without known heart disease or prior stroke and without a clear indication or contraindication to any of the study medications. Eligible and consenting individuals will be randomized to receive either the active study medications or placebo (dummy pills) and will be monitored for an average of 5 years. The study will include people from at 10 countries, will be conducted by an international group of scientists and physicians and will be coordinated by the Population Health Research Institute at Hamilton Health Sciences.
NCT03329911
This is a Phase III, randomized, double blind, multicenter, active comparator, parallel two arm study to compare the efficacy, and to evaluate the safety, and immunogenicity of BAT1706 to EU Avastin® in patients with previously untreated advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (nsNSCLC) to demonstrate clinical equivalence of BAT1706 and EU Avastin®.
NCT01643707
Registry to Improve the Adoption of Consensus Treatment Guidelines (IMPROVE Brady)
