NCT03485911
This is a phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral BCX7353 in preventing acute angioedema attacks in patients with Type I and Type II HAE.
NCT03364231
This research study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of a study drug called Umbralisib (also known as TGR-1202) alone as a possible treatment for Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia that has come back or that has not responded to standard treatment.
NCT00003353
RATIONALE: High-dose chemotherapy may destroy the amyloid-producing cells in bone marrow. Peripheral stem cell transplantation PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of high dose melphalan plus peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have primary systemic amyloidosis.
NCT00005962
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Monoclonal antibodies such as gemtuzumab ozogamicin can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Combining more than one drug or combining monoclonal antibody with chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells. It is not yet known which treatment regimen is more effective for acute myelogenous leukemia. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of three treatment regimens in treating patients who have relapsed or refractory acute myelogenous leukemia.
NCT00458653
The main purpose of this study is to test the safety and determine the type and severity of any side effects of the Dendritic Cell Fusion Vaccine given in combination with an autologous transplant for patients with multiple myeloma. Autologous stem cell transplantation is a standard therapy for multiple myeloma that is often successful in significantly decreasing the amount of cancer. However, it is not a cure because at some point the multiple myeloma generally begins to grow again. Cancer vaccines are investigational agents that try to stimulate the immune system to recognize and fight against cancer cells. One type of cancer vaccine uses an immune stimulating cell of the body known as a dendritic cell. Research has shown that these dendritic cells can stimulate an immune response against the tumor.
NCT00006390
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies such as alemtuzumab can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Combining monoclonal antibody therapy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and peripheral stem cell transplantation may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of alemtuzumab plus peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
NCT00003237
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug, and giving them after surgery, may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy, consisting of paclitaxel and cisplatin, given after surgery in treating patients with cancer of the esophagus or stomach.
NCT01327885
This is a randomized, open-label, multicenter, Phase 3 study comparing the efficacy and safety of eribulin with dacarbazine in subjects with advanced soft tissue sarcoma who have disease progression within 6 months prior to study enrolment following standard therapies which must have included an anthracycline, unless contraindicated and then at least one additional regimen after failure of the anthracycline.
NCT03764488
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the distribution in the central nervous system (CNS) of a microdose 99mTc-MAG3-BIIB067 co-administered with unlabeled BIIB067 (Tofersen). The secondary objective of the study is to assess the safety and tolerability of unlabeled BIIB067 co-administered with a microdose of 99mTc-MAG3-BIIB067 to healthy participants.
NCT03684681
In this study, the investigators will investigate if there is a better intervention for patients who present to the emergency department with an overdose or with symptoms consistent with drug use. There are currently two interventions that are routinely used when a patient comes to the Emergency Department with these criteria, and the investigators will compare the two. The first is when hospital social workers uses their own previous training to help people meet their goals. The second is when a person called a peer navigator, who is someone that has been in long-term drug recovery for over two years and has completed a lot of training to work with current drug users, delivers an intervention to current drug users and uses their own training and real- life experiences to help people meet their goals. The investigators hope to determine if patients have better outcomes if they work with one of these two groups. If a patient agrees to be in the study, the research staff will randomize them (like flipping a coin) to see if they will work with a social worker or a peer navigator. The research staff will distribute a survey in RedCap and the following information will be collected: age, sex, race, type of opioid used, and history of chronic pain, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder. Once the patient is assigned to a group, they will work with their assigned interventionist for the duration of the study. After this, the research team will track the patient to see if they joined an addiction-treatment program within 30 days of when the joined the study. The study team will also track patients to see if they had additional emergency department visits, additional overdoses, and if they successfully completed a treatment program over an 18-month period. 650 patients will be enrolled into the study.
NCT01104155
This is a Phase 2, multicenter, randomized study of two different dose regimens of eribulin mesylate in combination with intermittent erlotinib in patients with previously treated, advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT05911555
The purpose of this study is to evaluate changes in ocular mucin levels in response to a drying environment in subjects with dry eye disease as well as patients who report no history of dry eye disease. It is expected that exposure to the dry environment will alter mucin levels in different ways when comparing the two groups.
NCT00003592
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether methotrexate or paclitaxel is more effective in treating patients with advanced head and neck cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of methotrexate with that of paclitaxel in treating patients who have advanced head and neck cancer that cannot be treated with cisplatin.
NCT01347645
The purpose of the Phase Ib portion is to find out the highest dose of study drug that can safely be given when tested in a small group of subjects. The purpose of the Phase II portion is to find out how safe the study drug is when taken at the highest dose in a larger group of subjects.
NCT00003308
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed brain metastases from kidney cancer, melanoma, or sarcoma.
NCT03865732
A clinical study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of adjunctive ganaxolone therapy compared to placebo for the treatment of seizures in female children and young adults with genetically confirmed PCDH19 gene mutation.
NCT03112928
This international, multi-center, double-blind, randomized, controlled clinical trial aims to evaluate the efficacy of Phantom Motor Execution (PME) and Phantom Motor Imagery (PMI) as treatments of Phantom Limb Pain (PLP). In PME, myoelectric pattern recognition (MPR) is used to predict motor volition and then use the decoded movements to control virtual and augmented reality environments (VR/AR), along with serious gaming (SG). The same device and VR/AR environments are used in PMI with the difference that subjects will imagine rather than execute phantom movements. Electromyography is used to monitor for no muscular activity in PMI.
NCT04957641
This study is about teenagers and adults with hereditary angioedema (HAE) type I and type II. In this study, the burden of illness means the impact of HAE in terms of long-term health outcomes and the financial cost. The main aims of this study are as follows: * to learn how often, how severe and where on the body HAE attacks occur. * to describe how HAE prophylaxis and on-demand medicines are prescribed and used. (Prophylaxis medicines prevent a bleed from happening and on-demand medicines treat a bleed when it occurs.) This study is about collecting data only; participants will not receive treatment as part of this study. Existing data available in the participant's medical records will be collected. Participants will be asked to complete an electronic questionnaire either on a website or by using an app on their mobile phone; data from this questionnaire will also be collected. Participants do not need to visit their doctor in addition to their normal visits.
