NCT00021242
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of docetaxel in treating children who have relapsed or refractory acute lymphoblastic or acute myeloid leukemia.
NCT00372944
The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of AZD6244 (ARRY-142886)versus capecitabine in patients with advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer who have failed first-line therapy with gemcitabine. Following baseline assessments, a minimum of 64 patients in approximately 5-6 centers from the US will be treated with either AZD6244 or capecitabine. Treatment will be continued for as long as the patients receive clinical benefit. The status of all patients will be checked (whether they are still taking treatment or not) approximately 3 months after the last patient has entered the study.
NCT00111020
This treatment protocol allows doctors to treat advanced kidney cancer with an investigational drug called sorafenib, BAY43-9006, which is being studied in clinical trials for kidney cancer and other kinds of cancer. This treatment protocol is not a clinical trial in which sorafenib is compared to another equal treatment. All patients in this protocol will be treated with sorafenib. In addition, data from the patients who participate in this protocol will provide additional information about the drug.
NCT00812435
This is a prospective, open label, randomized trial of 100 patients who present to the cardiac catheterization laboratory with an ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction for primary PCI. Patients may receive up-front unfractionated heparin or low molecular weight heparin, but not glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors or thrombolytics. Patients will be consented prior to the diagnostic catheterization and will be randomized once the patient is deemed amenable to PCI to receive eptifibatide or no eptifibatide just prior to or at the time of primary angioplasty. Patients will be randomized in a 1:1 fashion. All patients will be assessed for the primary endpoint of ST resolution at 60 minutes post PCI and followed throughout the duration of the hospitalization and up to 30 days for secondary endpoint evaluation.
NCT01835301
This study aims to test the hypothesis that plaque composition differs within a stent between bare metal stents and drug eluting stents (DES). It is possible that a difference in plaque composition seen within a stent may be contributory to the late thrombotic events seen more frequently with DES.
NCT00120406
The Zilver® PTX™ Drug Eluting Vascular Stent is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic vascular disease of the above-the-knee femoropopliteal artery (ranging from 4 mm to 9 mm in reference vessel diameter) for lesions up to 7 cm long. The clinical trial is stratified by lesion length. The trial will be conducted in 2 phases, with Phase 1 enrolling patients with lesions less than 7 cm long. Phase 2 of the trial will include longer lesions (up to 14 cm long) and will be initiated upon approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
NCT00282126
Osteoporosis, a disease in which the bones become weak and are more likely to break, is a major health problem in the United States. Too much acid in the body appears to be linked to loss of calcium via urine, bone loss, and muscle breakdown. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of various doses of potassium citrate, a supplement that can neutralize acid, on bone density and muscle mass in older, healthy adults.
NCT01144949
The purpose of this study is to assess if patients treated with silodosin will have a higher spontaneous passage rate of their ureteral stone than those treated with placebo.
NCT01442376
The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy of two different doses of IV palonosetron in the prevention of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting in MEC and HEC patients through 120 hours after start of chemotherapy in single and repeated chemotherapy cycles. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the safety and tolerability of IV palonosetron in pediatric patients and evaluate the pharmacokinetics of IV palonosetron in a subset of pediatric CINV patients.
NCT00803608
To assess the efficacy of TrueContour® Insoles versus the current standard of care insoles in recurrence of plantar MTH ulcers in men and women, 18 years of age or older at the time of consent with clinical diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus type 1 or type 2 who have had at least one recently healed plantar MTH foot ulcer (\>1 week but \<12 weeks since heeling) and have Loss of Protective Sensation.
NCT00911326
The purpose of this study is to determine the false negative rate (FNR) associated with Lymphoseek-identified sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) relative to the pathological status of non-sentinel lymph nodes in elective neck dissection (END) in head \& neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). NEO3-06 (this study) is a Phase 3 clinical trial designed to supplement NEO3-05, a completed Phase 3 clinical trial conducted in patients with breast cancer or melanoma. NEO3-05 was designed to establish Lymphoseek as an effective radio-diagnostic agent to be used in the intraoperative localization of lymph tissue (nodes) in the lymphatic pathway draining the primary site of a tumor.
NCT01189253
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride and trabectedin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It is not yet known whether trabectedin is more effective than doxorubicin hydrochloride in treating patients with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II/III trial is studying the safety of trabectedin compared with doxorubicin hydrochloride and to see how well they work in treating patients with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma.
NCT00545558
The purpose of this study is to measure the effects of anti-HIV drugs on hepatitis C virus (HCV) viral load in people infected with both HCV and HIV.
NCT00492596
Over 11 million women in the United States suffer from stress urinary incontinence (SUI), the involuntary leakage of urine during routine physical activities such as laughing, coughing, exercising, or sneezing. SUI affects women of all ages and can result in significant emotional distress. The purpose of this study is to evaluate a non-surgical, investigational treatment intended to reduce or eliminate urine leakage due to stress urinary incontinence.
