NCT01857869
This study is designed to evaluate safety, reactogenicity, immunogenicity, and efficacy of GSK Biological's malaria candidate vaccine 257049 administered as standard doses at 0 and 1 months and 1/5th standard dose at 7 months (delayed fractional dose group) and 257049 administered as three standard doses one month apart (0, 1, 2-month group) in healthy malaria-naïve volunteers aged 18-50 years in the sporozoite challenge model. An additional, delayed sporozoite challenge will assess persistence of protection induced by the primary immune schedule and if an additional dose can provide protection in those unprotected by the initial vaccination series.
NCT03560830
Gulf War Illness (GWI) veterans were divided into 2 pathophysiological groups based on their orthostatic tachycardia responses after submaximal exercise. Two thirds had normal increases of 10 to 15 beats per minute between recumbent and standing both before and after exercise. These were termed the Stress Test Originated Phantom Perception (STOPP) phenotype. In contrast, one third had increases in heart rate of more than 30 beats per minute indicating that exercise induced postural tachycardia; there were the Stress Test Activated Reversible Tachycardia (START) group. This study aimed to confirm the original findings of Rayhan (2013).
NCT00890136
This project aims to characterize the independent effect of domestic endotoxin exposure on health status, as well as pulmonary and systemic inflammation, in former smokers with COPD. Positive findings from this study would be clinically relevant, as they would provide evidence to support aggressive reduction of ongoing endotoxin exposure in patients with COPD. The investigators also hope to make a methodological advance in the field of endotoxin exposure assessment by elucidating whether settled dust and/or airborne endotoxin measurements are the more relevant exposure of interest in epidemiological studies of respiratory disease. To fulfill the specific aims, the investigators will conduct a longitudinal study, including 75 former smokers with COPD. All subjects will have indoor air monitoring, in-home settled dust collections, home inspections as well as assessments of health status, quality of life (QOL), lung function and pulmonary and systemic inflammation.
NCT02492672
The current registry is being undertaken to assess the long-term (12 month) safety and tolerability of Venofer in the pediatric population with chronic kidney disease that requires intravenous iron maintenance therapy.
NCT02559570
The purpose of this study was to evaluate dose response of the safety and efficacy of linaclotide for the treatment of functional constipation (FC), in children age 6-17 years. This study includes up to a 4-week Screening Period, and a 2 to 3-week Pretreatment Period. Participants age 6-11 years will receive oral liquid formulation and participants 12-17 years will receive solid oral capsule or liquid oral solution. Children ages 6-11 years meeting the entry criteria will be randomized to 1 of 3 doses of linaclotide or placebo for 4 weeks. Children ages 12-17 years meeting the entry criteria will be randomized to 1 of 4 doses of linaclotide or placebo for 4 weeks. This 4-week study will assess the effects of linaclotide on bowel movement frequency, as well as other bowel symptoms of FC.
NCT02379390
Primary Objective: To demonstrate the superiority in term of radiographic Progression-Free Survival (rPFS) of cabazitaxel at at 25 milligram per meter square (mg/m\^2) plus prednisone (Arm A) versus either enzalutamide at 160 milligram (mg) once daily or abiraterone acetate at 1000 mg once daily plus prednisone (Arm B) in chemotherapy-naïve participants with metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC) who have disease progression while receiving androgen receptor (AR) targeted therapy (abiraterone plus prednisone or enzalutamide) within 12 months of treatment initiation (≤12 months). Secondary Objective: * To compare efficacy for: * Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response rate and Time to PSA progression (TTPP). * Progression Free Survival (PFS). * Overall Survival (OS). * Tumor response rate in participants with measurable disease (RECIST 1.1) * Pain response and time to pain progression. * Symptomatic skeletal events (SSE) rate and time to occurrence of any SSE. * To analyze messenger ribonucleic acids (mRNAs) including androgen-receptor splice variant 7 messenger RNA (AR-V7) as a biomarker in Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs). * To evaluate safety in the 2 treatment arms.
NCT02247479
This study is a Phase III, double-masked, multicenter, randomized, sham injection-controlled study evaluating the efficacy and safety of lampalizumab administered by intravitreal injections in participants with geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
NCT02401048
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of the combination treatment of ibrutinib and MEDI4736 in subjects with relapsed or refractory lymphomas.
NCT02198651
The primary objective of the study was to investigate the association between residual disease activity at Baseline as detected by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and the occurrence of flares in participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) randomized to an adalimumab dose tapering regimen controlled by adalimumab withdrawal.
NCT01676272
Despite the widespread use of advanced biologics for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, data comparing one type of modality to another are scarce. This investigation is a prospective randomized study comparing a bioengineered skin substitute to a human skin allograft.
NCT02651688
The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of 12 months of treatment with enclomiphene 12.5 mg, 25 mg, or placebo capsules on body composition and metabolic parameters in overweight men with acquired hypogonadotropic hypogonadism \[confirmed morning testosterone (T) ≤300 ng/dL\] following a 6 month diet and 15 month exercise program.
NCT00802464
The goal of this randomized observer-blind trial is to further refine the formulation of vaccines containing GSK1437173A in older adults by comparing the cellular and humoral immune responses and the safety profiles of the different formulations.
NCT03078647
Clinical Study to Evaluate the Performance of the Profound System for the Treatment of Cellulite.
NCT03157531
This is a prospective, single-arm, multi-center, international, open-label, clinical study.
NCT01190189
This extension study is designed to assess the safety of GSK Biological's human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine GSK580299 in female subjects who took part in the primary study NCT00294047 and received the control vaccine in countries for which the licensed GSK HPV vaccine is not indicated for the subject's age group (26 years and older). This study is thus conducted to enable all women who received the control placebo in the primary NCT00294047 study to receive the GSK580299 vaccine.
NCT03824912
Clinical Study to Evaluate the Therapeutic Equivalence of Ketoconazole Cream 2% in the Treatment of Tinea Pedis
NCT01898078
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of food on the single-dose pharmacokinetics (PK) of alisertib administered as an enteric-coated tablet (ECT) formulation in participants with advanced solid tumors or lymphomas.
NCT02112838
The purpose of this study is to determine whether fostamatinib is safe and effective in the treatment of IgA Nephropathy
NCT01483560
The trial is conducted in the United Kingdom (UK), Australia, Canada, Denmark and the Netherlands. The aim is to test whether 3 years treatment with metformin added to titrated insulin therapy (towards target HbA1c 7.0%/53 mmol/mol) reduces atherosclerosis, as measured by progression of carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT), in adults with confirmed type 1 diabetes aged 40 years and over at increased risk for cardiovascular disease.
NCT02019602
The primary purpose is to assess whether there is transfer of Certolizumab Pegol (CZP) from pregnant women receiving treatment with Cimzia® across the placenta to infants by evaluating the concentration of CZP in the plasma of infants at birth.
