The HeartMate II LVAS was approved by the US FDA on April 21, 2008, as a bridge to cardiac transplantation (reference PMA P060040). It was approved for commercial distribution in Canada on May 20, 2009 (reference Medical Device Licence #79765). Patients enrolled into the clinical trial will continue to be followed until all have reached a clinical outcome.
NCT02090114
Single-arm, single site, open label study of the effects of parenteral testosterone followed by enzalutamide, abiraterone or castration-only therapy in men with metastatic CRPC who previously progressed on one of these forms of therapy. The study will enroll four cohorts of patients: men with metastatic CRPC who have progressed on enzalutamide (Cohort A; n=30); men with metastatic CRPC who have progressed on abiraterone acetate (Cohort B; n=30); men with metastatic CRPC who have progressed on first line castration-only therapy (Cohort C; n=30); men with metastatic CRPC with inactivating somatic or germline mutations in ≥2 of the genes TP53, PTEN, or RB1 (Cohort D; n=20).
NCT02224755
The objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the HM3 LVAS by demonstrating non-inferiority to the HMII LVAS (HMII) when used for the treatment of advanced, refractory, left ventricular heart failure.
NCT02644291
This is a safety (Phase 1) trial using mebendazole for recurrent pediatric brain cancers that include medulloblastoma and high grade glioma, that are no longing responding to standard therapies. The drug mebendazole is an oral drug in a chewable 500 mg orange flavored tablet. It is already approved to treat parasitic infections. The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and side effects for increasing doses of mebendazole, followed by the treatment of an additional 12 patients at the best tolerated dose.
NCT01303796
This Phase 3 study assesses two drug regimens as the initial treatment of patients who are at least 70 years of age and have newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) for whom the doctor does not recommend the use of standard intensive treatment or the patient has decided not to receive standard intensive treatment after being fully informed about its benefits and risks by his/her doctor. The two drug regimens are sapacitabine administered in alternating cycles with decitabine or decitabine alone. The purpose of the study is to learn which drug regimen is more likely to keep AML in check as long as possible.
NCT01452802
The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of the HeartMate II (HM II) Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) support versus OMM in ambulatory NYHA Class IIIB/IV heart failure patients who are not dependent on intravenous inotropic support and who meet the FDA approved indications for HM II LVAD destination therapy.
NCT02035085
Six female patients (\>18 years of age, pre-menopausal) who have had loco-regional (lumpectomy and radiation) therapy for breast carcinoma and have been at least one-year disease free will undergo liposuction, the autologous SVF cell fraction will be isolated and labeled with CS-1000 in the operating room without entering cell culture, which will then be returned to the patient at the site of breast grafting. Patients will receive a pre-screening MRI . Patients will have an MRI scans over a period of 1 month at Johns Hopkins. Follow-up MRIs at 6,12, and 18 months will also be performed. Only at Johns Hopkins with fluorine being done as part of this investigational study. By performing fluorine MRI and quantification of 19F signal, we hypothesize that the engraftment of transplanted cells can be tracked in ways not possible before, using the total fluorine signal as surrogate marker for cell persistence and survival. We expect that a clinically successful outcome (maintenance of breast contour and volume) will be positively correlated with cell survival. The outcome of this study may pave the way for using 19F MRI cell tracking as a new tool for stem cell therapy in a variety of clinical applications.
NCT00573131
OncoGel is a new experimental drug delivery system that allows the slow continuous release of paclitaxel (an approved intravenous anticancer drug), from a gel (ReGel) over a long period of time. The gel will disappear in 4 to 6 weeks as it releases the paclitaxel. The protocol is directed towards evaluating the efficacy and safety of paclitaxel delivered as a local, intralesional treatment when used in combination with chemotherapy (cisplatin and 5-FU) and radiation therapy before surgery.
NCT03850535
This Phase Ib/II, open-label, multicenter, non-randomized study will evaluate the safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics of idasanutlin when it is given in combination with cytarabine and daunorubicin in induction, in combination with cytarabine in consolidation, and as a single agent in maintenance for treating participants with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
NCT02714218
The purpose of this study is to evaluate two different dose combinations of nivolumab and ipilimumab in the treatment of melanoma.
NCT04380961
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical response of sirukumab (administered as a single intravenous dose) plus standard of care (SOC) compared to placebo plus SOC in COVID-19.
NCT01477528
