The objectives of this study are: (1) to evaluate the safety and tolerability of VP 20621 dosed orally for up to 14 days in adults previously treated for CDI; (2) to characterize the frequency and duration of stool colonization with the VP 20621 strain of C. difficile; (3) to evaluate the efficacy of VP 20621 for prevention of recurrence of CDI; and (4)to select a dose regimen of VP 20621 to be used in future studies.

This study was designed to evaluate if subjects who achieve complete remission after 8 weeks of acute therapy with MMX mesalamine/mesalazine 4.8g/day given QD have better long-term outcomes and remain in remission longer compared with subjects who demonstrate only partial remission after acute therapy with MMX mesalamine/mesalazine 4.8g/day given QD. Therefore, subjects who achieve either complete or partial remission will enter into a 12-month maintenance phase, during which they will receive MMX mesalamine/mesalazine 2.4g/day given QD. Remission status for the 2 groups will be evaluated and compared at the end of this 12-month maintenance period. The data obtained from this study will provide scientifically meaningful information to demonstrate that achieving complete remission (clinical and endoscopic remission) is important for a better long-term prognosis, or that the current paradigm of symptomatic treatment is appropriate.

This is a phase I study that will assess the acquisition of immunity to Pf malaria over the course of 5 sequential Controlled Human Malaria Infections (CHMI) over 2-4 years, in 10 healthy adult participants. 10 subjects will initially be challenged with 5 uninfected mosquitoes (mock), followed by 5 challenges with 5 mosquitoes infected with drug sensitive, P. falciparum parasites (strain NF54) 2, 8, 14-20, 20-32, and 32-36 months later. For the final four infective CMHIs six additional immunologic malaria-naïve subjects will be enrolled and challenged as infectivity controls. If dropouts occur within the original 10 person cohort, and two or more CHMI remain, back-up replacement volunteers will be recruited to undergo successive CHMI with the core group. All volunteers (repeat CHMI subjects and infectivity controls) will be evaluated as part of an inpatient stay (or outpatient daily follow-up) to diagnose Pf malaria infection and treat with Coartem(R) (artemether/lumefantrine) or Malarone(R) (Atovaquone/proguanil). Daily observation will occur from Study Days 9-19 or until three-day directly observed therapy for P. falciparum infection is complete and two negative smears separated by a time interval \>12 hours have been documented. A third negative smear \>12 hours after the previous two daily smears will be documented to affirm malaria cure. Infectivity Controls enrolled as part of CHMI #5 will be treated based on concomitant us qPCR results. The repeat CHMI subjects will have additional outpatient visits days 1, 3, 5, and 7 after the challenge to obtain blood samples to monitor the development of immunity. The study is expected to last for 48 months and will include approximately 34 healthy male and female volunteers (10 active study volunteers and 18 naïve controls to confirm Pf infectivity during the 2nd -5th CHMI challenges) ages 18 to 50 years, inclusive, from the greater Baltimore community. The primary objective of this study is to determine whether protective immunity against parasite infection develops following repeat CHMI.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the prevalence of pre-surgical patients who are MRSA carriers. From an evidence-based practice perspective, findings from this study can be considered in the evaluation of the hospital SOP mandating pre-surgical MRSA screening requirements for patients with scheduled surgeries. The central hypothesis to be addressed in this study is whether the MRSA colonization and subsequent post-operative infection are the equivalent in these populations.

Study TKT024EXT was a long-term, single-arm, open-label extension of Study TKT024, a one year Phase 2/Phase 3 registration study. The primary objective of this extension study was to collect long-term safety and clinical outcome data in Mucopolysaccharidosis II (MPS II), also known as Hunter Syndrome, from the Phase 2/Phase 3 Study TKT024. All patients enrolling into this study received weekly active treatment with idursulfase, the primary dosing regimen investigated in Study TKT024. Hunter Syndrome is an X-linked recessive lysosomal storage disease caused by a deficiency of iduronate-2-sulfatase, an enzyme required to catabolize glycosaminoglycans (GAGS) in cells. As a result, GAGs accumulate in the lysosomes leading to cellular engorgement, organomegaly, tissue destruction, and organ system dysfunction. Hunter Syndrome is a rare disease with an estimated incidence of 1 in 162,000 live births.

This study will examine SPD489 in subjects aged 18-65 with major depressive disorder (MDD) who are taking certain types of antidepressants but continue to have residual depression symptoms. Eligible patients will remain on their antidepressant but will be randomized to either receive supplemental SPD489 or placebo (i.e. sugar pill). The purpose of this study is to help answer the following questions: * How safe is SPD489 for the supplemental treatment of depression and what are the side effects that might be related to it? * Can supplemental SPD489 help patients who still have residual depression symptoms while taking an antidepressant? * How much SPD489 should be given to patients with depression who are also taking an antidepressant? * How does SPD489 compare to placebo in depressed patients who are also taking an antidepressant?

A study to evaluate the efficacy of SRM003 treatment versus participating sites' standard practice treatment in improving the rate of AVF maturation and use in subjects with end-stage renal disease undergoing surgery for creation of an AVF to facilitate hemodialysis access. It is hypothesized that when placed outside the blood vessel, the seeded SRM003 gelatin matrix containing endothelial cells can provide a continuous supply of multiple growth regulatory compounds to the underlying cells within the blood vessel, while being protected from the effects of blood flow in the vessel(s) or complications resulting from being in direct contact with the point of injury.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of 3 doses of ADVATE rAHF-PFM on initial recovery (% increase \[IU/dL\] per IU/kg infused) and major single-infusion pharmacokinetic parameters. The 3 doses are 15, 30, and 50 IU/kg. Prior to each infusion, subjects will not have received treatment with a factor VIII concentrate for at least 3 days. Blood samples will be drawn within 30 minutes pre-infusion and at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 3, 6, 9, 24, 28, 32 and 48 hours post-infusion. A washout period of at least 3 days, but no more than 30 days between the last blood draw and the next infusion will be observed. During participation, subjects will maintain their preexisting treatment regimens with ADVATE rAHF-PFM or other factor VIII concentrate. A secondary objective is to investigate the relationship between pharmacokinetic parameters at each dose level and the levels of von Willebrand factor ristocetin cofactor activity and von Willebrand factor antigen at baseline.
