Use of any other anti-PD treatment is permitted as deemed necessary by the treating physician (according to the participants clinical status).
NCT01565850
This study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy darunavir/cobicistat/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (D/C/F/TAF) fixed dose combination (FDC) tablet versus darunavir (DRV)+cobicistat (COBI)+emtricitabine (FTC)/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) in HIV-1 infected, antiretroviral treatment-naive adults as determined by the achievement of HIV-1 RNA \< 50 copies/mL at Week 24.
NCT00280137
To examine the psychometric properties of a brief quality of life (QOL) instrument for use in pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The purpose of this prospective study is primarily to determine the validity and reliability of a new health-related quality of life (HRQOL) measure in children with systemic lupus erythematous (SLE). We wish to secondarily examine concordance between child- and parent-reports of the HRQOL measure and identify factors associated with poorer HRQOL in them. Earlier studies have shown that SLE significantly impacts QOL in adults. At present, there is no disease-specific instrument for measuring HRQOL in children with SLE. In response to these concerns, we developed the "Simple Measure of Impact of Lupus Erythematosus in Youngsters© (SMILEY©). Establishing the validity and reliability of SMILEY©, examining child-parent agreement and identifying factors associated with poorer HRQOL will enable us to measure the impact of SLE in children, and formulate appropriate interventions for this sensitive population. We plan the following specific aims: 1. to determine construct validity and reliability of SMILEY© child and parent versions in children with SLE using gold standards (Pediatric Quality of Life inventory - PedsQL generic and rheumatology modules, Childhood Health Assessment Questionnaire -CHAQ) 2. to determine responsiveness of SMILEY© 3. to examine level of agreement between child- and parent-reports of SMILEY© in children with SLE 4. to identify medical (steroid use, use of disease modifying agents such as cytoxan, cellcept, thalidomide, or cyclosporine, disease duration, disease activity and disease damage etc.) and psychosocial (self-concept, socioeconomic status) factors that affect HRQOL (as measured by child- and parent-reports of SMILEY© and PedsQL generic and rheumatology modules) and physical function 5) to translate, adapt and validate SMILEY in different languages
NCT00241189
This is a study to determine the safety of the immunosuppressive rapamycin in patients with systemic sclerosis with diffuse cutaneous scleroderma. The effects (both good and bad) are being compared to another group of systemic sclerosis patients receiving methotrexate
NCT01628913

NCT02603861
This study will evaluate the effect of single doses of LY3154207 on the amount of time it takes for healthy sleep-deprived men to fall asleep. The study will also estimate how much LY3154207 gets into the blood stream and how long it takes the body to remove it. Information about any side effects that occur will be collected. Each participant will complete four study periods, which will last a total of about 8 weeks.
NCT00120289
The purpose of this study is to determine whether raising "good cholesterol" with a drug based on the vitamin niacin, while lowering "bad cholesterol" with a statin drug, can prevent more heart disease than the statin alone.
NCT00972816
This study will evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of different combinations of A/H1N1 S-OIV (swine flu) vaccine in healthy young children.
NCT00344500
This program aims to help Veterans who take antipsychotic medications lose weight. The investigators use a program based on the American Diabetes Association's "Diabetes Prevention Program," and the investigators have modified it to fit the lifestyles of people with mental illness. NCT00609180
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and acute lung injury (ALI) are medical conditions that occur when there is severe inflammation and increased fluids in both lungs, making it difficult for the lungs to function properly. Hospital treatment for a person with ALI/ARDS often includes the use of a breathing machine, or ventilator, until the person is able to breathe without assistance. Initiating proper nutrition through a feeding tube early in a person's hospital stay may help to improve recovery, but the optimal timing, composition, and amount of feeding treatments are unknown. This study will evaluate whether early or delayed full-calorie feeding through a feeding tube is more effective in reducing recovery time and increasing survival rates in people with ALI/ARDS. The study will also determine whether supplementing the feedings with omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants benefits people with ALI/ARDS.
