NCT03989232
This study compares the effect of two doses of semaglutide (1.0 mg and 2.0 mg) in people with type 2 diabetes (T2D). People taking part in the study will take the medicine together with their current diabetes medicine (sulphonylurea and/or metformin). Participants will get a dose of either 1.0 mg or 2.0 mg semaglutide once a week - which dose is decided by chance. Participants will inject semaglutide under the skin once a week. The study will last for about 49 weeks. Participants will have 9 clinic visits and 2 phone calls with the study doctor. At the visits participants will have blood taken and eye tests done. Women cannot take part if pregnant, breast-feeding or planning to become pregnant during the study period. Female participants who can get pregnant will be checked 11 times for pregnancy via urine tests.
NCT03175367
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the reduction of LDL-C by evinacumab in comparison to placebo after 16 weeks in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (HeFH, or non-HeFH with a history of clinical ASCVD) with persistent hypercholesterolemia despite receiving maximally-tolerated LMT. Persistent hypercholesterolemia is defined as LDL-C ≥70 mg/dL (1.81 mmol/L) for those patients with clinical ASCVD and LDL-C ≥100 mg/dL (2.59 mmol/L) for those patients without clinical ASCVD.
NCT04274517
The usage of splash basins in the setting of total knee arthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty presents a risk of contamination and subsequent periprosthetic joint infection. Previous studies have investigated the efficacy of multiple antimicrobial irrigants for preventing periprosthetic joint infection, but the results are varied. Despite several noteworthy studies on the appropriate usage of different antiseptic solutions in surgical splash basins, the current literature has several limitations. First, there are no head-to-head clinical trials comparing betadine and chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) usage with relation to periprosthetic joint infection and splash basin contamination rates. Second, the in vitro studies directly cultured splash basin antiseptic solutions rather than culturing surgical instruments. The objective of this study is to compare the microbial contamination rate of total joint arthroplasty instruments that have been placed in surgical splash basins filled with either sterile water, 3.5% betadine, or 0.05% CHG. The overall purpose of the study is to investigate the efficacy of 0.05% CHG and determine if it is an appropriate solution to use in surgical splash basins for joint replacement surgeries. A prospective clinical trial will be conducted. Patients treated at the Keck Hospital of USC or USC Verdugo Hills Hospital for primary total hip or total knee arthroplasty will be screened for inclusion in our study. All primary surgeries will be performed according to the preferences of the operating surgeon. No deviations from standard surgical care will be made based on inclusion in this study. However, prior to surgery, patients who elect to participate will be randomized to one of three groups: (1) sterile water, (2) 3.5% betadine, or (3) 0.05% CHG.

NCT03915496
B7451037 is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, Phase 2a study to investigate the mechanism of action of PF-04965842 by correlating efficacy outcomes with changes from baseline in key skin and blood biomarkers in adult participants at least 18 years of age with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. Participants will be screened within 28 days prior to the first dose of study intervention to confirm eligibility. A total of approximately 51 participants will be randomized in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive PF-04965842 200 mg once daily (QD), PF004965842 100 mg QD, or matching placebo QD for 12 weeks. At the end of the 12-week study treatment, qualified participants will have the option to enter the long-term extension study B7451015 (NCT03422822). Participants discontinuing early from this study will undergo a 4-week off-treatment follow-up period.
NCT02338479
This is a prospective non-therapeutic study, assessing the long-term toxicity of pediatric HCT for hematologic malignancies. This study is a collaboration between the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium (PBMTC), the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR), the National Marrow Transplant Program (NMDP) and the Resource for Clinical Investigation in Blood and Marrow Transplantation (RCI-BMT) of the CIBMTR. The study will enroll pediatric patients who undergo myeloablative HCT for hematologic malignancies at PBMTC sites.
NCT04785638

NCT05418023
This study involves sample collection to identify biomarkers relating to Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) in the saliva of children who are between the ages of 18 months to 6 years and 11 months. Participants will at each timepoint have a non-invasive saliva swab collected and complete a brief demographic and medical history questionnaire as well. Children in the pediatric/provider setting who will receive a referral for an ASD diagnosis because they were determined to have a suspicion of developing ASD will be enrolled in the study. Children will also be enrolled in the specialist evaluation setting where they will receive a DSM-5 diagnosis. A subset of both enrollment cohorts will also be followed up with at a third time point in which their diagnosis will be confirmed, and information about any ongoing treatment will be gathered.
NCT02603133
Resilience means a healthcare provider's ability to cope, recover, and learn from stressful events, as well as their access to resources that promote health and well-being. Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) health professionals' need to have particularly good resilience, because their work is extremely stressful and their patients, fragile preterm infants, require their undivided attention. The investigators propose a feasible and engaging intervention to enhance resilience among NICU health professionals promoting their ability to provide safe care.
