NCT03339401
This study was designed to assess the safety, overall tolerability, and antiviral activity of "short course" brincidofovir (BCV) therapy, as compared with current standard of care (SoC), for the treatment of adenovirus (AdV) infections in high-risk (i.e., T cell depleted) pediatric allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) recipients. A virologic response-driven approach to the duration of treatment was to be evaluated, in which subjects randomized to BCV therapy were to be treated until AdV viremia was confirmed as undetectable or until a maximum of 16 weeks of therapy, whichever occurred first. The formulation of BCV used in this study was oral tablet/suspension.
NCT02420379
This is an open-label study to assess the safety, tolerability, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of eteplirsen in patients with early stage Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) who are amenable to exon 51 skipping.
NCT03219372
Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) is a major health concern in the United States, particularly among people with liver cirrhosis. Out of every 100 patients with liver cancer, only 18 will survive 5 years or more. While locoregional therapies are utilized in an effort to combat this disease, the recurrence rate of HCC after these therapies are high. Statins are widely used drugs that lower cholesterol levels. Some studies have suggested that statins lower risk of HCC recurrence, but this possibility has not been studied thoroughly in a clinical trial. This study will examine the effects of pravastatin, a type of statin, on time to HCC recurrence in patients with early stage HCC. It is possible that pravastatin in combination with locoregional therapies may delay or protect against HCC recurrence.
NCT02485652
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of HM61713 in patients with T790M-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after treatment with an epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI).
NCT00264875
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of pregabalin in reducing neuropathic pain associated with HIV neuropathy
NCT02122068
Family dementia caregivers provide a needed service to relatives with dementia and to society, but are often at risk for consequences to their own health such as depression, reduced immune system function, and burnout. Mentalizing Imagery Therapy (MIT, previously known as Central Meditation and Imagery Therapy) is a novel group mindfulness and guided imagery intervention designed to help caregivers reduce depressive symptoms and cope with the stress of caregiving. We will conduct a pilot feasibility of MIT versus home relaxation practice with 24 dementia caregivers. Half of the caregivers will be randomly assigned to receive a relaxation recording, while the other half will receive MIT. To measure the effects of MIT, we will obtain depression symptom ratings and questionnaires about psychological symptoms before and after MIT. We will also study the biological effects of MIT. We will do so by measuring brain activity, recording the pulse in order to determine variation in beat to beat intervals of the heart, and studying patterns of gene expression.
NCT00551135
The purpose of this study is to test whether pregabalin added to the standard of care with dosing starting preoperatively and continuing for 1 week post surgery will decrease the intensity of acute post-operative pain following inguinal hernia repair.
NCT02652481
The objective of this study is to collect data to confirm the safety and effectiveness of the Image Ready™ MR (Magnetic Resonance) Conditional Defibrillation System when used in the 1.5T (Tesla) MRI environment under the labeled Conditions of Use (Phase I). Additionally, the study will assess medically necessary MR scans according to the labeled Conditions of Use to provide real-world scanning data (Phase I and Phase II).The study also aims to demonstrate the continued ability of the ImageReady MR Conditional Defibrillation System to sense and detect ventricular fibrillation (VF) post MRI scan by collecting and analyzing data from spontaneous VF episodes, "for-cause" VF inductions, and from an optional VF induction Sub-study. .
NCT02847429
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, trial of oral crenolanib versus oral placebo in combination with best supportive care in subjects with advanced or metastatic GIST with a D842V mutation in the PDGFRA gene. Approximately 120 subjects will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to receive either crenolanib 100 mg or matching placebo orally (PO) 3 times daily (TID) in combination with best supportive care.
NCT03035474
CONNECT-HF is a large-scale, pragmatic, cluster-randomized clinical trial to evaluate the effect of a customized, multifaceted, health system-level quality-improvement (QI) program compared with usual care on heart failure (HF) outcomes and HF quality-of-care metrics.
NCT03944369
This randomized, open-label, clinical study aims to explore the safety and tolerability of KB109, a novel glycan, versus an observational control group on the gut microbiome in subjects whose gastrointestinal tracts are colonized with multiple drug-resistant organisms.
NCT00524030
This study will determine the safety and efficacy of pregabalin (Lyrica) when administered by itself (without any other anti-epileptic medication) to epilepsy subjects for the treatment of partial seizures. The duration of the trial is about 6 months.
NCT00580099
Briefly our study is looking at the effects of 4 weeks of assisted exercise on the body composition and neurological/behavioral development of healthy growing premature infants enrolled between the ages of 30-33 weeks. It is a blinded study where the active group gets the exercise intervention and the control group is cuddled for the same amount of time -approximately 20 minutes. We get baseline data using muscle ultrasound, bone speed of sound and DEXA. We also get baseline blood samples to look at inflammatory mediators and growth hormone. Video of each subject is recorded an hour at two time points during the study to assess the babies for spontaneous activity. Nutritional intake information is collected daily and in the 4th week of the study assessments made for total energy expenditure using doubly labeled water. At this point in the study we repeat the ultrasounds and DEXA for comparison. Finally in the period just before discharge we do a complex neurological exam using the Brazelton NBAS assessment.
NCT01271933
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a controlled release formulation of pregabalin administered once daily as compared to placebo in the treatment of fibromyalgia. All patients will receive pregabalin; half of the patients will receive placebo at some point in the study.
NCT01321437
The purpose of this research study is to determine the efficacy of Axitinib in treating individuals with Stage III melanoma.
NCT00981682
The hypothesis of this study is that SER120 is safe and well tolerated for use in nocturic patients.
NCT00824395
The purpose of this research study is to investigate the genetic causes of diabetes. Specifically, we are interested in the mitochondrial genome and how variants in the mitochondrial genome influence a person's risk to develop diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
NCT00580918
The purpose of this study will be to assess the attentional ability of patients with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI) using the functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) technique. Methodology for specific aim 1: sagittal pilot scan, 3-D anatomical MRI, Whole brain echo-planar imaging (EPI), and functional MRI techniques with traumatic brain injured subjects doing a Continuous Performance Test (CPT) attention task and compare the pattern of activation with those of normal controls to see if there is a failure to activate frontal lobes in the traumatic brain injured subjects.
NCT03593681
