NCT02374021
In a randomized controlled clinical trial, investigators will compare the effects on \[18F\]-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (FDG PET/CT) from two treatment regimens in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients deemed methotrexate inadequate responders (MTX-IRs). Two common RA treatments will be compared: triple therapy (sulfasalazine, methotrexate, and hydroxychloroquine) versus tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitor (etanercept or adalimumab, plus background methotrexate for all subjects and hydroxychloroquine for subjects who were taking this at screening).
NCT01531374
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Medtronic CoreValve® System in the treatment of symptomatic severe aortic stenosis in subjects who have a predicted very high risk and high risk for aortic valve surgery.
NCT04533685
This trial is taking place in Los Angeles, CA among patients from primary care practices within the UCLA Health System. The study design is a 2x2x2 factorial design, nested in a parallel 2-arm trial. The parallel arms are control v. reminder letter (reminder messages sent via the patient portal, reminding participants of an overdue influenza vaccine) Nested within the reminder letter arm, we will have 3 additional components: * A direct scheduling link within the reminder letter enabling the patient to schedule an influenza vaccine only visit (direct scheduling link vs. no direct scheduling link). * A pre-commitment prompt (pre-commitment prompt vs. no prompt) asking about a patient's intention to get the influenza vaccination * A pre-appointment reminder, encouraging patients to ask for their influenza vaccine at their upcoming appointment (pre-appointment reminder encouraging influenza vaccination vs. standard pre-appointment reminder not mentioning influenza vaccination)
NCT01240902
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Medtronic CoreValve® System in the treatment of symptomatic severe aortic stenosis in subjects who have a predicted high risk for aortic valve surgery and/or very high risk for aortic valve surgery.
NCT01767194
This randomized phase II trial studies how well irinotecan hydrochloride and temozolomide with temsirolimus or dinutuximab work in treating younger patients with neuroblastoma that has returned or does not respond to treatment. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as irinotecan hydrochloride and temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as dinutuximab, may find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. It is not yet known whether giving irinotecan hydrochloride and temozolomide together with temsirolimus or dinutuximab is more effective in treating neuroblastoma.
NCT04675606
The primary objective of this study is to prospectively evaluate rate of post-operative ileus or obstruction in patients with ileostomies receiving low fiber diet vs. regular diet starting post-operative day 1. The secondary objectives of this study are to compare the 30-day and 90-day readmission rates, length of stay, rate of high stoma output or need for antidiarrheals within 90 days, nausea score, level of pain, and overall quality of life amongst the patients studied.
NCT04928820
This phase II trial studies how well 68Ga-PSMA-11 positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) works in detecting the spread of cancer to the bones (bone metastasis) in patients with prostate cancer and increased PSA after treatment (biochemical recurrence) during androgen deprivation therapy. Diagnostic procedures, such as 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT, may help find and diagnose prostate cancer and find out how far the disease has spread.
NCT04630067
This first-time-in-human (FTIH) study will be conducted to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), and immunogenicity of single doses of AZD3427 in healthy volunteers and multiple doses of AZD3427 in patients with heart failure (HF).
NCT04331730
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of AKST4290 in combination with aflibercept injections in subjects with newly diagnosed neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).
NCT03579641
The goal of the PREEMPT-HF study is to collect device and clinical event data to evaluate extended applications of the HeartLogic Heart Failure Diagnostic (HeartLogic) in a broad spectrum of heart failure patients with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator or cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator. There are no primary safety and/or efficacy endpoints for this study. Heart failure is a complex clinical syndrome with high morbidity, mortality, and economic burden. Chronic Heart Failure is persistent, gradually progressive, and punctuated by episodes of acute worsening leading to hospitalizations. Therefore, there remains an unmet clinical need to slow the progression of Heart Failure and prevent hospitalizations. HeartLogic, available in Boston Scientific cardiac resynchronization therapy devices and defibrillators, combines novel sensor parameters such as heart sounds and respiration with other measurements like thoracic impedance, heart rate, and activity into a HeartLogic Index for the early detection of worsening Heart Failure. However, there is limited data on the association of HeartLogic with the risk of Hear Failure readmissions and tachyarrhythmias, or for phenotyping the broad spectrum of Heart Failure patients.
NCT05328609
This is an open-label observational trial to study the effectiveness of a commercial dietary supplement and its effect on common symptoms of normal menstrual discomfort.
NCT02858895
This is a single-arm, open-label, multicenter study in approximately 52 adults with primary (de novo) GB that has recurred or progressed (first or second recurrence, including this recurrence) after treatment(s) including surgery and radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy and following discontinuation of any previous standard or investigational lines of therapy.
NCT04634110
This is a single arm phase II study of brigatinib alone for patients with brain metastases from anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), who have either not been treated previously with a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) targeting ALK or who have had prior exposure to crizotinib.
NCT00540566
This study is to compare the ability of optical biopsy. Research can use light enters the skin, collected, analyzed by the computer, and a picture created for the pathologist to conventional histologic examination compare with the pathologist looking at the piece of tissue through a microscope makes the diagnosis.
NCT00540306
The purpose of this study is to do determine the changes in physiological and optical properties in healthy pre-menopausal breast tissue during the menstrual cycle using Diffuse Optical Spectroscopy. The Researcher can determine 1) how large variations in breast tissue components are 2) how predictable and repeatable these variations are 3) the effects of endogenous hormones on breast tissue physiology.
NCT00581204
The purpose for this study is to measure the physiology of human undergoing a Lower Body Negative Pressure usea non-invasive low-power optical technique, near-infrared diffuse optical spectroscopy measurement and compare these measurement to standard monitoring procedures delineated in the Brooke Army Medical Center. The Brooke Army Medical Center can use near-infrared diffuse optical spectroscopy to provide functional physiologic tissue and organ information without ionizing radiation and without withdrawing any blood, in a cost-effective and rapid manner. Monitoring for the onset of circulatory shock in a wounded soldier on the battlefield is typically performed by measurement of arterial blood pressure, arterial oxygen saturation, or simple auscultation of the pulse. Shock is typically recognized by non-specific signs and subjective symptoms such as cold clammy skin, pallor, weak thready pulse, unstable vital signs, and diminished mentation.
NCT00580736
The research hypothesis is that topical application of a mixture of pre-polymers of polypropylene glycol and polyethylene glycol (an optical clearing agent) will reduce skin light scattering, increasing the amount of light reaching the target for diagnostic as well as therapeutic purposes.
NCT00540371
The purpose of the study is to improve the efficacy of pulsed dye laser treatment of port wine stain birthmarks. Involvement in the protocol will involve formal documentation of the level of treatment pain, duration of post-treatment purpura and incidence of side effects. In addition, measurements will be taken of blood substances that promote blood vessel formation/regrowth and non-invasive reflectance measurements and photographs will be taken before and after treatment. The objective of this study is to document the degree of port wine stain lightening, the incidence of side effects and the presence of angiogenic factors induced during treatment with the pulsed dye laser in association with cooling agent. This information ultimately lead to improved treatment.
NCT00530868
This purpose of this trial is to show that the combination of Avastin and hormone therapy should be more effective than hormone therapy alone for the treatment of breast cancer.
