NCT01352845
This study is looking at a new vaccine that might prevent meningococcal disease, and will study the immune response elicited by this vaccine when given to healthy young adults. The study will also look at the safety of the new vaccine as well as how it is tolerated.
NCT00077636
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of different durations of treatment with PEGASYS combined with ribavirin in patients with CHC genotype 2 or 3 infection who have never previously received interferon (IFN) therapy. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
NCT01370005
This trial will evaluate safety and efficacy of BI 10773 in hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes. Since hyperglycaemia and hypertension are key risk factors for both micro- and macrovascular complications, assessment of both glucose and blood pressure lowering effects of BI 10773 in hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes could provide clinically highly relevant, new information for the use of BI 10773
NCT01343667
The objective of this study is to provide an ongoing evaluation of clinical outcomes associated with the GORE Flow Reversal System and the GORE Embolic Filter when used for embolic protection during carotid artery stenting.
NCT00886847
Primary objective: * To estimate the degree of agreement in diagnosis of cytologic samples from mediastinal lymph nodes obtained by Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)-guided Fine Needle Capillary Sampling (FNC) versus Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA). Secondary objective: * To compare the quality of cytologic samples from mediastinal lymph nodes obtained by EBUS-guided FNC versus FNA. The quality of the samples will be assessed initially by MDACC on-site cytology technicians, and then corroborated by physicians in the department of cytology. This assessment will be performed utilizing the Mair's score 3. The score consists of a 0-10 scale: 1-2= poor; 3-6=good; 7-10=superior.
NCT01021436
This study is to understand how the inhaled form of amikacin is spread throughout the human body and how it is eliminated from the body and to make sure that giving an inhaled form of Amikacin to patients is safe and well tolerated
NCT00023530
The purpose of this network is to accelerate research in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation by comparing novel therapies to existing ones.
NCT01266265
A surveillance of respiratory tract related adverse events in patients treated with Tyvaso®(treprostinil) Inhalation Solution versus other FDA approved therapies
NCT00732186
The purpose of the study is to assess the safety of ipilimumab and dasatinib combination therapy in patients with CML
NCT00624468
This study was intended to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of atacicept compared to placebo and to explore the neuroprotective effect of atacicept as assessed by OCT in subjects with ON as CIS. The study was randomized. Study medication was administered via subcutaneous (under the skin) injections.
NCT01126268
The purpose of this study is to document the clinical and bacteriological efficacy of retapamulin in the treatment of subjects with bacterial infections, including impetigo, folliculitis, and minor soft tissue infections including secondarily infected eczema presumed to be caused by methicillin resistant Staph aureus. Male and female patients ages 9 months to 98 years will be recruited from a university based dermatology clinic. Upon enrollment, wound cultures will be collected, and then subjects will apply topical retapamulin twice daily for five days. The primary endpoint will be resolution of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection based on clinical presentation and physical exam, as well as bacteriological efficacy based on culture results. It is anticipated that approximately 75 patients will be enrolled, with expectation that approximately 50 of these patients will have MRSA infections.
NCT00902174
A multinational, multicenter, double blind, placebo-controlled study evaluating the efficacy and safety of imatinib as an add-on therapy in the treatment of patients with severe pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
NCT00892437
The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a regimen containing cobicistat-boosted atazanavir (ATV+COBI) plus emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (Truvada®; FTC/TDF) versus ritonavir-boosted atazanavir (ATV+RTV) plus FTC/TDF in HIV-1 infected, antiretroviral treatment-naive adults. Participants will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio. Randomization will be stratified by HIV-1 RNA level (≤ 100,000 copies/mL or \> 100,000 copies/mL) at screening. After Week 48, participants will continue to take their blinded study drug and attend visits every 12 weeks until treatment assignments are unblinded, at which point all participants will return for an unblinding visit and be given the option to participate in an open-label rollover extension and receive ATV+COBI+FTC/TDF until COBI tablets become commercially available, or until Gilead Sciences elects to terminate the study.
NCT02432573
In postpartum hospitalized women, does delayed morning rounding improve patient satisfaction?
NCT00002546
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy is more effective than combination chemotherapy in treating patients with cancer of the uterus. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying radiation therapy to see how well it works compared to combination chemotherapy in treating patients with cancer of the uterus.
NCT01728324
The aim of the study is to confirm efficacy and safety of treatment with 600 mg of BID BI 207127 in combination with 120 mg QD FDV and RBV for 16 or 24 weeks in target chronically infected HCV GT1b treatment naïve patients, including patients with compensated cirrhosis.
NCT00793468
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of GSK598809 as compared to placebo in preventing recently-quit smokers from going back to smoking.
NCT01415908
This investigation will provide safety and effectiveness information on the use of INFUSE® Bone Graft with the CAPSTONE® Spinal System and CD HORIZON® Spinal System with a Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) surgical approach at one or two adjacent levels from L2-S1 to treat subjects with advanced degenerative disease of the lumbosacral spine.
NCT02300025
This study is an open-label, multi-center, single-dose, parallel group study to determine the pharmacokinetics, safety, and tolerability of cobimetinib administered at 10 mg to fasted male and female adult subjects with varying degrees of hepatic function. The study will be conducted based on the Child-Pugh classification of hepatic impairment. The anticipated duration of the study is 7.5 weeks. The target sample sizes are: 18 volunteers with varying degrees of hepatic function and up to 12 healthy control volunteers.
NCT00828737
Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment scheduled for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan and injection with a contrast agent, Gadovist, will be asked to participate. The administration of contrast agents that contain gadolinium such as Gadovist might increase a potential risk to develop a rare condition called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) in patients with renal impairment. This study is to assess the potential risk to develop NSF in patients with renal impairment after the administration of Gadovist. Patients who are enrolled in this study will receive a Gadovist enhanced MRI scan which was prescribed by the referring doctor. After the MRI scan the patient will be included in a two year follow-up period to assess if signs or symptoms suggestive of NSF have appeared.
