RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of different regimens of combination chemotherapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed mantle cell lymphoma.

The goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest safe dose of intraperitoneal tgDCC-E1A that can be given in combination with paclitaxel as a treatment for patients with recurrent, platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. How the cancer responds to this treatment will also be studied. Researchers will also ask the patients if they will allow additional tumor samples to be collected and extra blood samples to be drawn. These samples will be used to learn about the biological response before and after treatment.

The goal of the first phase of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose of decitabine and peginterferon alfa-2b that can be given in combination to patients with melanoma. The safety of this drug combination will also be studied. The goals of the second phase are to learn if decitabine and peginterferon alfa-2b combined can help to control melanoma, and to find out which doses are more effective and/or better tolerated.
