NCT00206622
To determine the lowest effective dose of estradiol by comparing E2/LNG (2.2mg/0.69mg) and E2 (1.0mg) dose with placebo in decreasing the frequency and severity of moderate to severe hot flushes in postmenopausal women
NCT00399646
The purpose of the Metricath Gemini System is to pre-dilate the target treatment area, take arterial lumen measurements in a native section of artery or within the deployed stent and perform further dilation of the deployed stent if required. In this manner, the Metricath Gemini System can assist the Interventionalist by providing arterial measurements prior to stenting, performing pre-stenting angioplasty, taking within stent measurements to help determine if the stent is fully deployed, and by performing post-stenting dilations to further dilate the stent if required.
NCT00105547
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the change in cognitive ability and activities of daily living in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) as measured by specific evaluations during 18 months of dosing.
NCT00496002
The objectives of this study are to compare in nucleoside treatment-naïve subjects, the efficacy and safety of clevudine 30 mg once daily versus adefovir 10 mg once daily, each as monotherapy, for 48 weeks and 96 weeks.
NCT00496158
The objectives of this study are to compare in nucleoside treatment-naïve subjects, the efficacy and safety of clevudine 30 mg once daily versus adefovir 10 mg once daily, each as monotherapy, for 48 weeks, 72 weeks, and 96 weeks.
NCT00382798
This is an adaptive Phase I study to evaluate RO5024048 in the following groups: * Healthy Volunteers (Part 1 - Single Ascending Dose Study) -Enrollment completed * Hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1 infected patients who have failed interferon therapy (Part 2- Multiple Ascending Dose Study)-Enrollment Completed * HCV genotype 1-infected patients who are treatment naive, to be dosed in combination with PEG-IFN and RBV (Part 3 - Combination Dose Study)-Currently Enrolling * HCV genotype 2-3 infected patients who have previously been treated with interferon but who did not respond, to be dosed in combination with PEG-IFN and RBV (Part 3 - Combination Dose Study)- Currently enrolling The study aims to determine if RO5024048 is safe and well-tolerated in healthy people and in people infected with hepatitis C virus. The amount of RO5024048 in the blood will be measured during the study and the amount of hepatitis C virus in the blood after each dose will also be measured. During Part 3 of the study, RO5024048 will be given with PEG-IFN and RBV, two drugs currently used and approved for the treatment of HCV.
NCT00029848
To assess the effect on weight loss and weight maintenance over a period of one year when prescribed with a hypocaloric diet in obese patients with Type 2 Diabetes
NCT00567047
This study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics of vildagliptin and its metabolites in patients with mild, moderate or severe renal impairment and healthy volunteers.
NCT00251095
The purpose of this study is to compare the objective response rates of patients randomized to receive either TOCOSOL(R) Paclitaxel or Taxol(R) (paclitaxel injection) administered every week to patients with metastatic breast cancer. The study hypothesis is that the objective response rate with TOCOSOL Paclitaxel given every week is non-inferior to that observed with Taxol given every week.
NCT00321438
The purpose of this study is to measure viral tropism over time in subjects with X4-tropic or non-phenotypeable virus while receiving standard of care therapy. This is an observational study. No investigational treatment will be administered through this study.
NCT00826709
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the fluID Rapid Influenza Test's ability in detecting influenza A and influenza B from individuals presenting with signs and symptoms of influenza-like illness (ILI).
NCT00099294
The primary objectives of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of glufosfamide in subjects with pancreatic cancer who have been previously treated with gemcitabine as measured by overall survival compared with best supportive care.
NCT00063570
The purpose of the study is to determine if the two drugs can help patients feel better while causing the tumor to become smaller or disappear; evaluate the safety of giving both pemetrexed and gemcitabine in patients with advanced breast cancer.
NCT00385515
Oral mucositis (OM) is a common and debilitating toxicity induced by many chemotherapy (CT) regimens and by radiation to the head and neck. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of SNX-1012 in decreasing the duration of Grade 2, 3, or 4 oral mucositis (OM) according to World Health Organization (WHO) criteria.
NCT00102752
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety of glufosfamide when administered in combination with gemcitabine.
NCT00239967
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of rimonabant 20 mg on HDL (high density lipoprotein) cholesterol and on TG (triglycerides) plasma levels over a period of one year when prescribed with a hypocaloric diet (600 kcal deficit per day) in abdominally obese patients with atherogenic dyslipidemia (low HDL and/or high TG plasma levels). The secondary objectives are to evaluate specific metabolic parameters, visceral fat (in selected sites), safety and tolerability of rimonabant 20 mg.
NCT00315042
This is a multinational, randomized (1:1), double blind, double dummy, comparator-controlled, 2 parallel treatment group study in subjects from 6 months to \< 13 years of age, with Streptococcus pyogenes tonsillitis/pharyngitis (T/P).Each subject will receive either telithromycin 25 mg/kg once daily for 5 days or penicillin V, 13.3 mg/kg three times daily for 10 days. Matching placebo for telithromycin and penicillin V will also be dispensed for 5 and 10 days respectively, to provide blinding to the different treatment regimens. A positive rapid identification test for streptococcal Group A antigen will be required for all subjects at Visit 1 (Day 1) for entry into the study. Throat swab specimens for bacterial culture, identification, and antibiotic-susceptibility testing will be taken at Visits 1, 3 and 4.
NCT00261352
This is a 24-week study to determine the lipid metabolic effects, safety, and tolerability of tesaglitazar compared with metformin and metformin in combination with fenofibrate in patients with type 2 diabetes and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Improvement in dyslipidemia will be evaluated. The study comprises a 2-week enrollment period, 6-week run-in and a 24-week randomized, double blind, parallel group, multi-center, active controlled (metformin with or without fenofibrate) treatment period and a 3-week follow-up. From visit 2 (run-in), all patients will receive a standardized dose of statin (rosuvastatin)
