NCT03134976
This is a prospective observational study evaluating wound complications following head and neck surgery. Patients undergoing major head and neck surgery will be included in the study. Patients meeting eligibility criteria will be identified by members of the University of Michigan Head and Neck Oncology Division of the Department of Otolaryngology. The primary aim of this study is to identify risk factors for poor wound healing as well as biologic markers associated with wound related complications in head and neck surgery. Most specifically, this study evaluates the effects of thyroid hormone on wound healing. This study will also evaluate pre-operative labs and comorbidities as well as reconstructive factors, post-operative labs, and other variables associated with wound healing. All interventions regarding wound healing fall under current standards of care and standard practice. Data regarding post-operative wound complications will be collected in a prospective fashion on the variables under study using study-specific datasheets. Data sheet will be entered into a secure database for analysis.
NCT03403712
Multicenter, randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel group, stratified study assessing the safety and describing the efficacy of a single dose of intravenous (IV) fosnetupitant/palonosetron (260 mg/0.25 mg) infusion \[test\] versus oral netupitant/palonosetron (300 mg/0.5 mg) combination \[control\]; each administered with oral dexamethasone prior to initial and repeated cycles of AC chemotherapy in female breast cancer patients.
NCT01602614
This is a clinical sampling study, and no study drugs will be administered under this protocol. Premature infants who receive intravenous ganciclovir as part of clinical care will be eligible for participation in this study. Intravenous ganciclovir will not be provided under this protocol.
NCT01774578
The purpose of this study is to assess overall survival of anti-tumor immunization using HyperAcute®-Lung immunotherapy versus Docetaxel in patients with progressed or relapsed non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that have been previously treated.
NCT00569387
To assess the response for subjects with pancreatic cancer that have undergone surgical resection and treatment with a vaccine given with chemotherapy and chemoradiation.
NCT03272503
This study will look at whether Pimozide may help to slow the progression of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. 100 people from several Canadian centres with ALS who have provided their consent will be randomly assigned into one of 2 groups. The first group will receive a dose of up to 2mg of Pimozide per day and the second group will receive placebo (lactose tablets). Subjects will be assigned randomly (like by a flip of a coin) to receive either Pimozide 2 mg per day or placebo tablets. There will be a fifty-fifty chance of receiving Pimozide or placebo. Participants will be on study medication up to 22 weeks, and on study up to 26 weeks. There are 8 clinic visits and 1 phone visit over the course of the Treatment Phase of the study. The second phase which is Observational, is optional with follow-up for up to 5 years from the end of the Treatment Phase.
NCT03558997
The primary objective is to assess whether 16 weeks of treatment with dupilumab as an adjunct to Timothy Grass Subcutaneous Immunotherapy (SCIT) improves upon the efficacy of Timothy Grass SCIT to reduce provoked allergic rhinitis symptoms, as measured by Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS) after nasal allergen challenge (NAC) with Timothy Grass extract at week 17. The secondary objectives of the study are: * To assess whether 16 weeks of treatment with dupilumab as compared to placebo reduces provoked allergic rhinitis symptoms, as measured by TNSS after nasal allergen challenge (NAC) with Timothy Grass extract * To assess whether 16 weeks of treatment with dupilumab as compared to dupilumab + SCIT reduces provoked allergic rhinitis symptoms, as measured by TNSS after nasal allergen challenge (NAC) with Timothy Grass extract * To assess changes in serum Timothy-grass-specific immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4), serum Timothy grass-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE), and ratio of serum Timothy Grass-specific IgG4 to IgE over 16 weeks of treatment with dupilumab + SCIT as compared to SCIT monotherapy * To evaluate the safety and tolerability of 16 weeks of treatment with dupilumab as an adjunct to Timothy Grass SCIT
NCT03112694
The purpose of this study is to understand how people with neuroendocrine tumors respond to treatment with lanreotide after having received treatment with octreotide.
NCT02616614
Actavis has developed a generic formulation of clindamycin 1.2% and benzoyl peroxide 3.75% gel. This study is designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of this formulation in subjects with Acne Vulgaris
NCT00261274
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that small amounts of a person's own red cells, when treated with an enzyme to make A-ECO Red Blood Cells, can be safely re-infused, repeatedly. Each participant will have some blood drawn, treated with an enzyme, washed and re-infused five times. Additional samples of blood will be drawn for testing and evaluation.
NCT02993861
The study is a prospective, multi-center, open-label clinical trial. Study's purpose is to characterize the pharmacokinetics and safety of four oral anti-epileptics drugs (levetiracetam, valproic acid \[divalproex sodium ER or immediate release formulation if inadequate enrollment}, topiramate, and oxcarbazepine) in a non-randomized sample of obese children and adolescents. The study's duration will be up to eleven days (up to seven days of screening and four days of pharmacokinetic sampling). Eligible participants ages 2 to 18 years will be identified through outpatient clinic schedules and inpatient admissions at each clinic site. Participants receiving at least one of the study drugs per local standard of care will have pharmacokinetic concentrations in plasma drawn according to the specific dosing schedule for each drug. Other study measures include demographics, BMI, waist/hip ratio, medical history, concomitant medication history, documentation of study drug oral intake, adverse effects, and physical examination. The sample size will include 24 participants for each anti-epileptic drug (total 96).
