This is a trial in adult participants with unresectable, locally advanced, Stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with pembrolizumab in combination with platinum doublet chemotherapy and standard thoracic radiotherapy followed by pembrolizumab monotherapy. The primary hypothesis of the trial is that within each platinum doublet chemotherapy cohort, the percentage of participants who develop Grade 3 or higher pneumonitis is ≤10% and estimation of objective response rate (ORR) by blinded independent central review (BICR).

This study aims to assess the efficacy of Transversus Abdominus Plane (TAP) blocks, a well-established anesthetic technique, to decrease the amount of post-operative pain in patients who undergo minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries. During minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, the abdomen is inflated with pressurized air for visualization purposes and released at the end of the surgery. Traditionally, TAP blocks are performed by injecting long-acting local anesthetic agents under ultrasound guidance into the abdominal wall after abdominal surgery after the air has been emptied from the abdomen for additional anesthetic coverage post-operatively. This study proposes a novel approach: that performing TAP blocks while the abdomen is still insufflated will result in better post-operative pain outcomes as compared to the traditional method.

This project seeks to adapt and pilot a trauma-informed combination intervention named 'Kickin' it with the Gurlz' that was designed with, for, and by transgender women of color to improve HIV prevention continuum outcomes. The intervention components include a violence and gender affirmation screening tool, a peer-led adaptation of Seeking Safety, and individual-level peer navigation sessions. We will examine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary promise of the multicomponent by conducting a one-arm pilot with 30 transgender women of color who have a history of trauma. Participants will complete baseline, immediate post-intervention, and 3-month follow up assessments.

This investigation will be a longitudinal clinical trial to study the long-term clinical performance of a resin cement for chairside CAD/CAM restorations. Lithium disilicate chairside CAD/CAM onlays will be adhesively bonded using a selective enamel etch technique with an adhesive. Full contour zirconia crowns will be cemented using a self-adhesive resin cement.

This study is designed as a multi-center prospective observational study of newly diagnosed Heart Failure (HF) patients to test the hypothesis that additional Ejection Fraction (EF) recovery occurs between 90 and 180 days as Guideline Directed Medical Therapy (GDMT) is achieved. Although the study doesn't start until day 90, all eligible, consenting patients will be entered into a registry at the start of wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) use. The pre-study registry will allow us to collect early (90 day) outcomes and data in those patients who are likely to be eligible for the study at day 90, or are eligible, but refuse the study at day 90.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, immunogenicity and safety of the 9vHPV vaccine in men 20 to 45 years of age. The primary hypothesis tested after the primary database lock is that administration of a 3-dose regimen of 9vHPV vaccine will reduce the incidence of human papillomavirus (HPV) 16/18/31/33/45/52/58-related oral persistent infection (6 months or longer) compared with placebo. There will also be an Extension Study to offer an opportunity to complete the 3 dose regimen of 9vHPV vaccine for participants who received placebo in the Base Study, or received less than 3 doses of 9vHPV vaccine in the Base Study.

Moderate-severe intraventricular hemorrhage (msIVH, Grades II-IV) is a significant neurological complication among extremely low gestational age neonates (ELGANs, \<=27+6 weeks) and is associated with long-term neuro-disabilities. In Canada, msIVH affects \~25-30% of the 1300 ELGANs born annually, with little change in incidence over last decade. Typically, it occurs between days 2-7 of age, providing a finite window of opportunity. Instituting therapies at the population level, however, exposes many low-risk infants to side effects, adversely affecting risk-benefit profile and requiring large sample sizes in trials. A targeted preventative approach, though ideal, is currently challenged by our inability to reliably identify at-risk ELGANs early after birth. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) has emerged as a promising non-invasive bedside neuromonitoring tool. Pilot studies using NIRS, including ours, found lower cerebral saturations (CrSO2) and greater periods of altered cerebral autoregulation in infants who later developed msIVH. However, a systematic planned investigation is needed to establish the predictive characteristics of NIRS-derived markers, using clinically translatable methods (cumulative burden over time-period vs. single time-point values) and identify their relative performance at different time-points during transition. Further, incorporating echocardiographic (ECHO) hemodynamic markers, known to be associated with msIVH, may allow for the establishment of robust multi-model prediction models and the gain of mechanistic hemodynamic insights to inform future management. Hence, our objective is to investigate the utility of multi-modal assessment using NIRS and ECHO for early identification of ELGANs at risk of msIVH, and generate clinically applicable predictive model(s).

In one of the most severe congenital heart defects, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), the left ventricle is underdeveloped and the prognosis is worse than in most other heart defects. The underdevelopment can occur gradually during fetal growth caused by a narrowing of the aortic valve. At some international centers, such fetuses are treated with a balloon dilation of the narrowed valve, but there is no scientifically sound evidence that this treatment is effective. The aim of this study is: 1/ to evaluate whether balloon dilation during the fetal period of a narrowed aortic valve can reduce the risk of the left ventricle becoming underdeveloped and the baby being born with a so-called univentricular heart (HLHS); 2/ to investigate whether such treatment improves the prognosis for this group of children with a very complex and severe heart defect and 3/ to also describe side effects and risks in fetuses and mothers of the fetal procedure.

This study is designed for individuals with aphasia, a language disorder that affects many stroke survivors, making it difficult to read, speak, and understand language. Up to 70% of people with aphasia struggle with reading, which impacts their ability to communicate, work, and engage in daily life. The study aims to test a new approach to reading rehabilitation by combining Phono-Motor Treatment (PMT), a language therapy adapted to improve reading, with transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a safe and painless brain stimulation technique. tDCS delivers a mild electrical current to the brain, which may enhance learning. This study will assess whether adding tDCS to PMT improves reading therapy outcomes.
