NCT01730937
This randomized phase III trial studies sorafenib tosylate and stereotactic body radiation therapy to see how well they work compared to sorafenib tosylate alone in treating patients with liver cancer. Sorafenib tosylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Stereotactic body radiation therapy may be able to send the radiation dose directly to the tumor and cause less damage to normal tissue. Giving sorafenib tosylate together with stereotactic body radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells.
NCT03250247
The purpose of this study is to determine if the use of image-guided, endovascular therapy (EVT) is an effective strategy with which to reduce Post Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) disease severity and improve quality of life in patients with established disabling iliac-obstructive post thrombotic syndrome (DIO-PTS).
NCT03896581
This is a study to demonstrate the clinical efficacy, safety and tolerability of bimekizumab administered subcutaneously (sc) compared with placebo in the treatment of tumor necrosis factor alpha-inadequate responders (TNFα-IR) subjects with active Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA).
NCT02009644
The purpose of this clinical trial is to assess and evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Treovance Stent-Graft with Navitel Delivery System in subjects with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA).
NCT04516057
This study will look at whether nabilone is an effective treatment for agitation in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients. Agitation is highly prevalent in patients with AD and is one of the most distressing and challenging-to-treat symptoms. Agitation is associated with faster progression to institutionalization, increased caregiver burden, poorer quality of life, and increased risk of death. In addition, current pharmacological options show only modest efficacy and elevated risks of adverse events. Therefore, identifying safer and more effective treatments for agitation in AD is a clinical and research priority. Nabilone is a synthetic cannabinoid that is Health Canada-approved to treat chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. The PI's research group completed a 6-week double-blind placebo-controlled randomized cross-over pilot trial in 38 patients with moderate-to-severe AD, providing the first preliminary evidence regarding the safety and efficacy of nabilone in this population. They found that nabilone significantly improved agitation, overall neuropsychiatric symptoms, and caregiver distress. That study was limited by its sample size and questions remain regarding the efficacy of nabilone for nutrition and pain and predictors of response. However, the promising preliminary findings encourage a pivotal, practice-changing phase III trial to inform clinical practice. Participants in this study will be randomized to receive either nabilone or a placebo for 8 weeks. In addition to looking at the effectiveness of nabilone in treating agitation, the researchers will also look at whether it is beneficial for other relevant outcomes for patients with AD including overall neuropsychiatric symptoms, caregiver distress, cognition, nutritional status, and pain. Participants will also be followed for 8 weeks following completion of the study treatment.
NCT04432584
A study designed to evaluate the safety of crovalimab with eculizumab in participants with PNH currently treated with complement inhibitors. This study will enroll approximately 190 participants.
NCT05840224
The goals of this clinical study are to identify if GS-4528 alone or in combination with anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) (Anti-PD-1) Monoclonal Antibody is safe and tolerable in people with solid tumors and to identify the recommended dose of GS-4528 for further development that is safe to give to people alone or in combination with Anti-PD-1 Monoclonal Antibody. The primary objectives of this study are: * To assess the safety and tolerability of GS-4528 as monotherapy and in combination with Anti-PD-1 Monoclonal Antibody in participants with advanced solid tumors. * To identify the maximum tolerated dose (MTD)/maximum administered dose (MAD) and/or the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) of GS-4528 as monotherapy and in combination with Anti-PD-1 Monoclonal Antibody in participants with advanced solid tumors.
NCT03697304
This is a study in adults with various types of advanced cancer. The purpose of the study is to test a medicine called BI 754091 in combination with several other cancer medicines. BI 754091 is an immunotherapy. This means it may help the immune system fight cancer. Such therapies are also called immune checkpoint inhibitors. How long the participants are in the study depends on whether they benefit from treatment and whether they experience unacceptable side effects. The participants are put into different groups. Each group receives BI 754091 in combination with another medicine. The doctors check whether the tumors shrink or disappear. The doctors also check the general health of the participants.
NCT03798626
This study will determine the pharmacodynamically-active dose of gevokizumab and the tolerable dose of gevokizumab in combination with the standard of care anti-cancer therapy in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, metastatic gastroesophageal cancer and metastatic renal cell carcinoma, and the preliminary efficacy of gevokizumab in combination with the SOC anti-cancer therapy in subjects with mCRC and mGEC.
NCT06986148
The goal of this clinical trial is to determine if a "watch and wait" antibiotic strategy, called Safety Net Antibiotic Prescribing (SNAP), can safely reduce unnecessary antibiotic use while ensuring that children diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia get better from their illness. The main aims of this study are: * To compare the effectiveness of SNAP versus immediate antibiotic prescribing in children with mild community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) * To identify which patient groups benefit most from the SNAP strategy * To identify factors that shape implementation of each prescribing strategy. Researchers will compare the SNAP strategy (where parents or guardians are instructed to give antibiotics only if their child is not improving after 72 hours, or sooner if they are worsening) to the immediate antibiotic prescribing strategy (where parents or guardians are instructed to give the antibiotics right after their healthcare visit) to see if one strategy is more effective than the other. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the immediate antibiotic group or the SNAP group at enrollment. Participation lasts 14 days with follow-up surveys at 4, 7, and 14 days after enrollment.
NCT04116437

NCT06111781
The goal of this clinical trial is to measure the toxicity and effectiveness of the following treatments for cFIR/cgUIR prostate cancer patients. Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) alone or Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) combined with Ultrashort GNRH Antagonist called Relugolix (an oral drug). Treatments will be randomly assigned to study patients. The main questions it aims to answer are the following: 1. Whether the proportion of men who undergo SUGAR have a superior rate of attaining PSA nadir of \<= 0.2 compared to SBRT alone, and 2. Whether SUGAR is superior to historical rates of minimal clinically important decline (MCID) in sexual and hormonal function at 6 months for patients undergoing 6 months of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) Men aged 18+ with cFIR/cgUIR will be enrolled. Specifically, patients must meet one of the following 2 criteria: 1) Gleason score must be Gleason 3+4 with a PSA \< 20 ng/mL, or 2) Gleason 6 (3+3) and PSA \> 10 ng/mL and \< 20 ng mL.
NCT04146428
Research teams in Boston University, UCLA, and Weill Cornell will recruit 90 participants in 3 years (10 participants per site per year) and evaluate JASPER, play-based intervention, using the BOSCC and ELSA-T. Participants will be randomized to receive JASPER facilitated either by a clinician or the caregiver. After 10 weeks, the participants will be evaluated using the CGI to determine if they are "responders" or "non-responders". Nonresponders will be given a mix of clinician and caregiver-facilitated JASPER and responders will remain the course for the following 10 weeks. Coding of the BOSCC and ELSA-T will be the outcome measures and change will be evaluated throughout the study.
