This study is being conducted to evaluate the breastfeeding support program utilizing bilingual English-Spanish tailored text messages and online support to support exclusive and continuous breastfeeding for new mothers--comparing texting alone, texting with an online support group to those with usual care. The cost involved in moderating the online groups and providing bidirectional consultation when needed will be evaluated and qualitative feedback from a subset of mothers in both intervention groups will be evaluated to determine what was effective, as well as suggestions for improvement of the messaging program.

Although positive airway pressure (PAP) is a highly effective treatment for sleep apnea, adherence to therapy remains an obstacle. Automated Graduated CPAP (AGPAP), also know as EZ-start, is an extended duration ramp, where the patient receives pressure below their prescription during an acclimation phase. The algorithm gradually increases pressure to therapy level based on usage. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the AGPAP acclimation period and its impact on short term adherence.

Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) syndromes are disorders characterized by enzyme deficiencies, and they have been linked to heart health complications. However, there are currently no proven markers of heart and artery health for this population. The main purpose of this observational study is to evaluate the ease and convenience of a non-invasive measurement of artery function in MPS I, MPS II and MPS VI patients compared to healthy control subjects. An observational study is a research design meaning that there is no treatment in this study. The research questions are: 1. Is the artery health of MPS I, II and VI patients different than healthy controls? 2. Is the artery health of MPS VI patients different than MPS I and II patients? It is hypothesized that MPS patients will have poorer outcomes of artery health compared to healthy controls.

The overall goal of the present study is to determine whether Omega-3 Fatty Acids potentially prevent onset of psychosis and improve clinical symptoms and functional outcome in youth and young adults at elevated clinical risk for schizophrenia and related disorders. The specific aims are: (1) To determine whether the rate of progression to psychosis is lower during six months of treatment with Omega-3 Fatty Acids compared to six months of treatment with placebo, (2) To determine whether Omega-3 Fatty Acids are more efficacious than placebo for prodromal symptoms, negative symptoms, and functioning, (3) To assess the safety and tolerability of Omega-3 Fatty Acids in this population, and (4) To conduct analyses of neuroimaging, neurocognitive, electrophysiological and other ancillary data to explore mechanistic explanations for the hypothesized benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids on clinical and functional outcomes (e.g., increases in white matter integrity and processing speed).

This research study is being conducted to find out whether Trappsol® Cyclo™, an experimental treatment for people with Niemann Pick disease Type C (NPC-1) is safe at 2 different dose levels and what effects it has on people who have this condition. NPC-1 is caused by a defect in the protein which is important for the transport of fatty substances like cholesterol out of cells. Without this protein, fats build up in the cells ultimately leading to organ damage. The way in which this experimental treatment works is not fully understood but laboratory experiments have shown that it can potentially remove cholesterol build up from the cells in people who have NPC-1. Approximately 12 patients will be asked to take part in this research study for up to 20 weeks (w) in total (including screening. treatment and follow-up). Recruitment is expected to take 6- 9 months.Patients who take part will receive treatment by an intravenous infusion every two weeks. The study will look at what the body does to the drug as well as what the drug does to the body by taking and examining blood and urine samples. A sample(s) of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) will be taken by lumbar puncture during the first treatment dose and may be collected during subsequent doses. Liver and skin biopsy specimens will be taken to assess filipin staining. Cholesterol metabolism will be investigated in liver samples and splenic and hepatic elasticity will be assessed by ultrasound. Patients will also have their hearing tested, be asked questions by their doctor as well completing questionnaires to help assess any changes in their condition during treatment.This study is being sponsored and funded by CTD holdings Inc.
