The primary objective of this trial is to assess the safety of an uninterrupted dabigatran etexilate periprocedural anticoagulant regimen compared to an uninterrupted warfarin regimen in Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation (NVAF) patients undergoing Atrial Fibrillation (AF) ablation in a PROBE (Prospective, randomized, open label, blinded end point) active controlled study. Secondary objectives are to assess additional safety endpoints and efficacy in this clinical setting. It is not intended to assess confirmatory hypothesis, this is an exploratory study.

This will be a Phase 1, open-label, randomized, 3-way crossover study to evaluate PK, safety, and tolerability of a new tablet formulation of CPI-444 and to evaluate the effect of food on single oral doses of CPI-444 tablets in healthy male and female subjects. Potential subjects will be screened to assess their eligibility to enter the study within 28 days prior to the first dose administration.

A 12-week, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled trial of citicoline as an add-on therapy will be conducted in 200 outpatients with bipolar I disorder and cocaine dependence. Patients will complete mood and memory assessments weekly, in addition to completing self-report measures for cocaine (and other substances, like alcohol) use and craving. Participants will receive manual-driven Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT: two sessions each week for 4 weeks followed by weekly sessions, total 16 sessions) specifically designed for persons with bipolar 1 disorder and substance abuse, and provided by a therapist with experience in CBT. The sessions may be videotaped for training purposes and may be viewed by the researchers, the therapist, and Dr. Schmitz, a clinical researcher at the University of Texas Houston who is the developer of the CBT for bipolar disorder and substance dependence used in the study. Before being videotaped, the patient will sign an "Authorization for Audio Recordings, Photography, or Other Images for Non-Treatment Purposes" to further understand how the videotape will be used, and by whom. The patient will be given the option to review their videotape to view their therapy session. Once the patient has completed all study procedures, or had discontinued the study, the tape will be destroyed, until then the tape will kept in the patient's confidential study file. Further, patients will return to the clinic three times a week for urine drug tests (UDS). 200 patients are expected to be consented for this study and all study procedures will take place at the clinic on the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center campus. All non-study medications are not part of the study. Non-study medication will be verbally self-reported by the patient at the time of enrollment into the study. The patient will be responsible for the costs of their non-study related medications. The patient will manage their non-study medications with their personal doctor, including any changes in these medications. However the protocol has concomitant medication algorithm in the event that a change in the medication schedule needs to be made by a study doctor. If a study doctor requests a laboratory test for the patient, it will be paid for by the clinic. Otherwise, the patient will be responsible for all costs (including laboratories) associated with their non-study medications.

This study enrolls patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) treated with inhaled treprostinil. During the study, the treatment with inhaled treprostinil will be tapered off and simultaneously replaced with an oral treatment (selexipag) targeting the disease in a similar way. The purpose of the study is i) to investigate the safety and tolerability of oral selexipag in patients who transition from inhaled treprostinil, ii) to investigate the effects of oral selexipag on PAH severity and exercise ability before and after transition, and iii) to gain new information about the patients experience taking oral selexipag compared to inhaled treprostinil. Study participants may stay in the study until the FDA has granted marketing authorization.

In this randomized double-blind study, the investigators would like to compare standard practice (i.e., use of luminal esophageal temperature monitoring) to that of esophageal deviation during AF ablation. The investigators hypothesize that the strategy of esophageal deviation will result in safer ablation strategy with a reduction in the incidence of esophageal injury as assessed by endoscopy.

This is a Phase IIIa, multicenter, randomized, stratified (reversibility status), double-blind, parallel-group study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of FF/VI 100/25 micrograms (mcg) once daily (QD) compared with VI 25 mcg QD, administered in the morning via the ELLIPTA™ inhaler. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the contribution on lung function (as measured by trough forced expiratory volume in one second \[FEV1\]) of FF 100 mcg to the FF/VI 100/25 mcg QD combination by comparison of the latter with VI 25 mcg QD and the safety of FF/VI 100/25 mcg over a 12-week treatment period in subjects with COPD. This is a phase III multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GSK573719/GW642444 Inhalation Powder, GSK573719 Inhalation Powder, GW642444 Inhalation Powder and Placebo when administered once-daily via a Novel Dry Powder Inhaler over a 24-week treatment period in subjects with COPD. Subjects who meet eligibility criteria at Screening (Visit 1) will complete a 7 to14 day run-in period followed by a randomization visit (Visit 2) then a 24-week treatment period. There will be a total of 9 clinic study visits. A follow-up phone contact for adverse event assessment will be conducted approximately one week after the last study visit (Visit 9 or Early Withdrawal). The total duration of subject participation in the study will be approximately 27 weeks. A subset of subjects at selected sites will also perform 24-hour serial spirometry and Holter monitoring during the study and provide serial blood samples for pharmacokinetic analysis. Sparse pharmacokinetic sampling for population pharmacokinetic analyses will be obtained from non-subset subjects. The primary measure of efficacy is clinic visit trough (pre-bronchodilator and pre-dose) FEV1 on Treatment Day 169. Safety will be assessed by adverse events, 12-lead ECGs, vital signs, clinical laboratory tests, and 24 hour Holter monitoring (subset only).

The purpose of this trial is to determine whether regularly scheduled use of an inhaled long-acting beta agonist (salmeterol) in the setting of concomitant use of inhaled corticosteroids (beclomethasone hydroflouroalkane (HFA) inhaler) will have a detrimental effect on asthma control in people who bear the B16-Arg/Arg genotype of the beta-2 adrenergic receptor gene, as compared to people with asthma of similar severity who bear the B16-Gly/Gly genotype.

This study will compare high resolution computed tomography (CT) scans to spirometry to measure the progression of emphysema.

This is a multicentre, randomized, blinded, double dummy, parallel group study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of UMEC inhalation powder\[ (62.5 microgram (mcg) once daily (QD)\] when administered via a novel Dry Powder Inhaler compared with tiotropium (18 mcg QD) administered via a HANDIHALER® inhaler over a treatment period of 12 weeks (24 weeks in Germany) in subjects with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). At the end of the run-in period, subjects who meet the randomization criteria will be randomized to receive UMEC 62.5 mcg administered via novel dry powder inhaler(nDPI) + Placebo administered via HANDIHALER inhaler OR Tiotropium 18 mcg administered via HANDIHALER inhaler + Placebo administered via nDPI in a 1:1 ratio. There will be up to 8 clinic visits conducted on an outpatient basis at Pre-Screening (Visit 0), Screening (Visit 1), a 7 to 14 day run-in period, randomization at Day 1 (Visit 2), and after randomization at Day 2 (Visit 3), Day 28 (Visit 4), Day 56 (Visit 5), Day 84 (Visit 6) and Day 85 (Visit 7). For subjects enrolled in Germany, there will be an additional 3 visits at Day 112 (Visit 8), Day 140 (Visit 9) and Day 168 (Visit 10). The total duration of subject participation in the study will be approximately 15 weeks (27 weeks in Germany). The primary endpoint of the study is clinic visit trough forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) on treatment Day 85. All subjects will have spirometry performed at clinic Visits 1 though 7. Trough spirometry will be obtained 23 and 24 hours after the previous day's dose of blinded study medication at Visits 3 to 7.
