NCT01673867
The purpose of the study is to compare the overall survival of BMS-936558 (Nivolumab) as compared with Docetaxel in subjects with non-squamous cell non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure of prior platinum-based chemotherapy
NCT05583487
The purpose of this research study is to decide if using a nurse-led mobility protocol affects teamwork perceptions, when mobilizing ventilated neurosurgery patients. Participants will mobilize ventilated neurosurgery patients according to either facility standard procedures or a piloted nurse-led mobility protocol. Each selected patient will be mobilized once during his/her hospitalization for the purposes of this study. Patient mobility may take up to 1 hour. Following this, participating staff will be asked to complete a survey used to measure teamwork perceptions. Participants will be given up to 30 minutes to complete the survey. Total study duration is 3 months.
NCT04707664
The purpose of this research is to understand if the study drug, also called sargramostim or Leukine®, can help prevent the worsening of COVID-19 when the study drug is inhaled. This study will also help researchers understand if inhaled sargramostim can help prevent visits to the emergency room or hospitalization, or death.
NCT04149535
To demonstrate that use of the Sentinel® Cerebral Protection System significantly reduces the risk of peri-procedural stroke (≤72 hours) after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
NCT03164967
This study is part of the BIVIGAM® post marketing requirement (PMR). It is being conducted in subjects aged 2-16 with primary immune deficiency disorders associated with defects in humoral immunity to generate additional data on these populations, and more specifically safety and pharmacokinetic (PK) assessments.
NCT03751007
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of different doses of AG019 administered alone or in combination with teplizumab in participants with recent-onset type 1 diabetes (T1D).
NCT03548246
Children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency tend to have elevated circulating levels of androgens, which can accelerate skeletal maturation and adversely impact adult height. Additionally, these children require supraphysiologic doses of hydrocortisone to suppress secretion of adrenal androgen precursors, and this treatment can retard linear growth. This study seeks to use oral abiraterone acetate (Zytiga)as an adjunct to approved CAH therapy (oral hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone) for pre-pubescent children with classic 21-hydroxylase deficiency in order to reduce daily requirement of hydrocortisone.
NCT03621969
Injuries and disease processes that produce upper extremity deficits are devastating to patients and their families. One potential avenue to treat these neurological disorders is through the enhancement of neural plasticity, which is the ability of the brain to reorganize and recover following insult. After a minor injury, the brain undergoes beneficial neural plasticity, compensating for altered neural activity to restore normal function. However, in the cases of moderate to severe injury and disease, e.g. spinal cord injury (SCI), insufficient or improper plasticity limits recovery, leaving patients with long-term disability. Therefore, methods that can drive robust and specific plasticity have great potential to treat neurological injuries and disease. The Texas Biomedical Device Center (TXBDC) at UT Dallas has developed a groundbreaking therapy, called Targeted Plasticity Therapy (TPT), which pairs traditional motor, sensory, and cognitive rehabilitation with precise stimulation of the vagus nerve, to guide such robust and specific plasticity to treat a wide range of neurological deficits.
NCT03504020
The purpose of this clinical study is to compare ECG Belt Research System managed cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) patients and a control CRT group with respect to left ventricular (LV) remodeling.
NCT03919994
The objectives of this study are to describe characteristics, treatment patterns, and outcomes of patients with schizophrenia newly initiated on 1 of 4 FDA-approved atypical Long Acting Injectable (LAI) antipsychotics (ABILIFY MAINTENA®, ARISTADA®, INVEGA SUSTENNA® or RISPERDAL CONSTA®)
NCT02830542
The study will involve administering a single dose of investigational drug or placebo in ascending dose cohorts. This study is designed to evaluate the safety and tolerability of investigational drug as well as the efficacy of investigational drug versus placebo in adults with primary (first episode) Clostridium difficile infection (CDI).
NCT03894046
This is a 2-part study, with Part A being the randomized, controlled portion of the study in patients with ABC hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia (HABP), ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (VABP), or bacteremia. Part B is the single-group portion of the study and includes ABC infections that are resistant to or have failed colistin or polymyxin B treatment, as detailed in the inclusion criteria.
NCT01074294
This study tests the effects of an investigational antipsychotic drug (called OPC-34712) in adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) when taken with an approved stimulant medication to explore a possible impact on sleep, quality of life and cognitive function.
NCT03818529
This is a multi-center cohort study of approximately 250 previously untreated patients (PUPs) with congenital moderate to severe hemophilia A or B in a network of up to 50 US Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs). Participants will be followed as they receive their first 50 exposure days (ED) to clotting factor replacement product, both prospectively and retrospectively. The data collected on evolving treatment practices will define the incidence and risk factors for inhibitor development during the high risk period of first 50 ED and improve the outcomes of this vulnerable population.
NCT02256631
The purpose of this study was to assess the safety and pharmacokinetics (PK) of three monoclonal antibodies, VRC01, VRC01LS, and VRC07-523LS, in HIV-exposed infants who are at increased risk of mother-to-child HIV transmission.
NCT04360096
Brief Summary: SARS-CoV-2 virus infection is known to cause Lung Injury that begins as dyspnea and exercise intolerance, but may rapidly progress to Critical COVID-19 with Respiratory Failure and the need for noninvasive or mechanical ventilation. Mortality rates as high as 80% have been reported among those who require mechanical ventilation, despite best available intensive care. Patients with severe COVID-19 by FDA definition who have not developed respiratory failure be treated with nebulized ZYESAMI™ (aviptadil acetate, a synthetic version of Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide (VIP)) 100 μg 3x daily plus Standard of Care vs. placebo + Standard of Care using an FDA 501(k) cleared mesh nebulizer. The primary outcome will be progression in severity of COVID-19 (i.e. critical OR severe progressing to critical) over 28 days. Secondary outcomes will include blood oxygenation as measured by pulse oximetry, dyspnea, exercise tolerance, and levels of TNFα IL-6 and other cytokines.
NCT05508568
The objective of this prospective, multi-centre study is to evaluate the performance of ADXBLADDER, a urine MCM5 ELISA test, as an aid in the detection of bladder cancer recurrence. Patients undergoing cystoscopic surveillance in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) follow-up will be recruited and asked to provide a urine sample to be tested with ADXBLADDER. To assess the diagnostic accuracy of the test, the MCM5 results will be compared with the gold standard cystoscopy and pathology of resected tissue.
NCT02996864
College students are in a newly independent phase of life; many of whom encounter unhealthy dietary decision- making, barriers to physical activity, and poor sleep behaviors. Healthy Detours is a location-based smartphone application tailored in real-time to a student's schedule and locale, and aims to guide students toward healthier eating, exercise, and lifestyle choices as a way to prevent the onset of damaging and costly health outcomes. Through a randomized control trial, this Phase II project will test the effectiveness of an evidence-based smartphone application that will provide students with on-demand, location-specific information about healthy lifestyle choices.
NCT03549871
