NCT00997503
The TAXUS Libertē Post-Approval Study is an FDA-mandated prospective, multi-center study designed to collect real-world safety and clinical outcomes in approximately 4,200 patients receiving one or more TAXUS Liberté Paclitaxel-Eluting Stents and prasugrel as part of a dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) drug regimen. This study will also contribute patient data to an FDA-requested and industry-sponsored research study that will evaluate the optimal duration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT Study).
NCT01232569
This randomized, parallel-group, placebo-controlled, multicenter study will evaluate the reduction in disease activity and the safety of tocilizumab (RoActemra/Actemra) in combination with traditional disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) in patients with active, moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. In the double-blind part of the study, patients will be randomized to receive either 162 mg tocilizumab or placebo subcutaneously every 2 weeks for 24 weeks using a pre-filled syringe. In the open-label part of the study, patients will be randomized to receive 162 mg tocilizumab subcutaneously every 2 weeks from Week 24 to Week 96 using a pre-filled syringe or an auto-injector.
NCT01649297
The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of two doses (high and low) of empagliflozin as add-on therapy to metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and insufficient glycaemic control. Both doses may be given once daily or split to a twice daily dosage. This results in 4 different dosage regimens of empagliflozin (high dose once daily or split vs. low dose once daily or split). This is done to evaluate whether a twice daily dose regimen of empagliflozin results in a loss of efficacy relative to once daily dosing when given on top of metformin background therapy.
NCT00941031
The purpose of the study is to determine whether, in patients with moderate to severe plaque-type psoriasis, AIN457 administered subcutaneously reduces the severity of psoriasis symptoms and the extent to which the patient's body area is affected by the disease (compared to placebo).
NCT00466817
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is known to cause hearing loss and mental retardation. The purpose of this study is to compare a 6-week course to a 6-month course of the drug valganciclovir in babies born with CMV to assess the safety and efficacy of this treatment. Participants will include 104 infants (30 days old or younger) born with CMV disease. All infants will take valganciclovir by mouth for 6 weeks. At the end of the 6 week period, subjects will be assigned by chance to receive either valganciclovir or placebo (inactive substance) to complete the 6 months of antiviral treatment. Patients will be followed for the study related evaluations of safety, changes to hearing, and developmental milestones for up to 2 years. Patients will be followed by telephone contact for an additional 3 years. Thus, participants may be involved in study related procedures for approximately 5 years.
NCT01159262
The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetics (PK) of dexmedetomidine (DEX) at 3 different dose levels in infants, ages ≥28 weeks to ≤44 weeks gestational age, administered as a loading dose followed by a continuous infusion for a minimum of 6 hours and up to 24 hours in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), cardiac intensive care unit (CICU), or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
NCT01665391
The primary objectives of this trial are as follows: * to compare the achievement of a partial remission (PR) or complete remission (CR) in urinary protein: creatinine ratio (Up/c ratio) in patients treated with fresolimumab versus placebo * to compare the safety profile of patients treated with fresolimumab versus placebo The secondary objectives are as follows: * To compare the reduction in proteinuria in patients treated with fresolimumab versus placebo * To evaluate fresolimumab dose-dependent reduction in proteinuria * To compare the change in renal function (estimated glomerular filtration rate \[eGFR\]) in patients treated with fresolimumab versus placebo * To evaluate the multiple-dose pharmacokinetics of fresolimumab
NCT00274651
Open-label, non-randomized trial to assess the effectiveness of PXD101 in patients with recurrent or refractory cutaneous or peripheral and other types of T-cell lymphomas. PXD101 is a new, potent histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor. Patients are treated with belinostat(PXD101) 1000 mg/m2 on days 1-5 of a 21 day cycle.
NCT00610090
The primary study objective, at this time, is to follow out to 5 years post implant the safety of already enrolled subjects who were treated with the UniFit Aorto-uni-iliac (AUI) Endoluminal Stent Graft (the "study device") for the repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs).
NCT00000410
This study tests the effectiveness of different treatments for the three most commonly diagnosed lumbar (lower) spine conditions. The purpose of the study is to learn which of two commonly prescribed treatments (surgery and non-surgical therapy) works better for specific types of low back pain. In this part of the study, people with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation (damage to the tissue between the bones of the lower spine, or backbone) will receive either discectomy (surgical removal of herniated disc material) or non-surgical treatment. This study does not cover the cost of treatment.
NCT00071565
The purposes of this study are to identify possible genes that may increase the risk of aneurysm development in the brain, and to determine the effect of environmental factors such as cigarette smoking and high blood pressure on the expression of these genes.
NCT01835782
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety of L-Serine in subjects with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) at varied doses.
NCT00565058

NCT00003636
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining surgery with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether chemotherapy before surgery is more effective than chemotherapy after surgery in treating ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying chemotherapy given before surgery to see how well it works compared to chemotherapy given after surgery with or without additional surgery in treating patients with stage III or stage IV ovarian cancer, peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer.
