NCT01400867
This is a study of safety, effectiveness, blood levels and tolerance of Ceftaroline fosamil in children with skin infections receiving antibiotic therapy in the hospital.
NCT00373750
The purpose of this study is to determine whether an in-home, paraprofessional-delivered family strengthening curriculum entitled Family Spirit is effective at increasing parental competence, improving maternal outcomes and improving childhood outcomes in a sample of at-risk teen mothers living in four Native American reservation communities. The effectiveness of the Family Spirit curriculum will be determined by comparing outcomes of mothers who receive the intervention plus assisted transportation to prenatal and well baby visits (called Optimal Standardized Care) to mothers who receive only Optimal Standardized Care. Outcomes will be assessed at multiple intervals over the course of a 39-month study period.
NCT00712036
The purpose of the study is to determine whether one of three levels of counseling intensity will be associated with better treatment outcomes when combined with methadone maintenance treatment for heroin-addicted adults drawn from a methadone treatment program waiting list.
NCT01752101
The primary objective is to identify a panel of plasma and/or serum proteins that differentiates the absence or presence of lung malignancy in samples obtained from subjects enrolled in this IRB/EC approved study with pulmonary nodules.
NCT00050778
This was a Phase II, randomized, open-label, rater-blinded, three-arm study comparing two different doses of alemtuzumab (Lemtrada™) and one dose of subcutaneous (SC) interferon beta-1a (Rebif®) in participants with early, active relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) who had not been previously treated with MS therapies other than steroids. The study was conducted for an initial period of 3 years and a follow-up to 5 years or more.
NCT00511576
The purpose of this study is to test the combination of an experimental drug known as MGCD0103 given along with an FDA-approved drug called docetaxel. This is a Phase 1 study that will look at different doses of MGCD0103 given along with docetaxel in order to better understand the effects (positive and negative) of this combination on the subject's body and disease. The study would like to find the following information: * How long MGCD0103 and docetaxel stay in the subject's body; * What effects, good and/or bad, MGCD0103 and docetaxel have on the subject and on his/her cancer; and * If the genetic and chemical make-up of the subject's blood cells and tumor cells play a role in how you respond or do not respond to MGCD0103 and docetaxel.
NCT02191735
This clinical investigation is designed to demonstrate the performance characteristics of the RAMP® cardiac tests analyzed on the RAMP® 200 by non-laboratorial Operators at the point-of-care when compared to the results for the same samples analyzed on the RAMP® Reader.
NCT01224795
This is a study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a single dose of intravenous peramivir versus placebo in adolescents and adults with acute uncomplicated influenza.
NCT02087917
To determine the efficacy of HS-25 (5, 10, 20 or 30 mg) in reducing low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) levels after a 4-week period of treatment in adults with primary hypercholesterolemia.
NCT00255424
The study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new intravenously administered iron drug to treat anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease who are not on dialysis.
NCT01405027
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of a physician directed education program on treatment compliance of hepatitis C patients administered triple drug therapy of pegylated interferon, ribavirin and boceprevir.
NCT00012012
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. Drugs such as amifostine may protect normal cells from the side effects of radiation therapy. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of combining cisplatin and radiation therapy with or without amifostine in treating patients who have stage IIIB or stage IVA cancer of the cervix.
NCT00499031
This phase II trial is studying cetuximab to see how well it works in treating patients with persistent or recurrent cervical cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cetuximab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them.
NCT01530763
This is a study of safety and effectiveness of ceftaroline fosamil in children with Community Acquired Bacterial Pneumonia receiving antibiotic therapy in the hospital.
NCT00786032
The goal of this VA demonstration project is to show that the Brain-computer interface (BCI) technology is a clinically practical and important new communication and control option that can improve the lives of veterans with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The project will test four well-supported hypotheses: (1) that people with ALS who find (or will soon find) conventional assistive technology inadequate can and will use a BCI system for important purposes in their daily lives without close technical oversight, 2) they will continue and even increase this use throughout the period of the study, (3) that BCI use will improve their lives, and 4) BCI will improve the lives of their families and caregivers.
NCT00514683
The general purpose of this trial is to investigate the efficacy and safety of 4 dose strategies of BIBF 1120 treatment for 12 months, compared to placebo in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate whether at least one dose strategy is superior to placebo in patients with IPF, in modifying the rate of decline of Forced Vital Capacity (FVC). As a secondary objective, additional parameters will be assessed in order to differentiate between dose strategies on the basis of safety and efficacy
NCT00324129
In this study, MGCD0103, a new anticancer drug under investigation, is given three times weekly to patients with leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes.
NCT01097460
This is an open-label Phase 1 trial of MM-111 in combination with Herceptin.
NCT00201643
The hypothesis is that administration of two courses of antenatal corticosteroids, compared to one course, will show a 40% reduction in the incidence of composite neonatal morbidity in patients delivering prior to 34 weeks' gestation.
NCT01414309
Central sleep apnea (CSA) has been associated with increased mortality and primarily occurs in patients with heart failure (HF). The primary purpose of this study is to document the natural progression of moderate to severe CSA in heart failure patients.
