NCT01363440
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of Intravitreal Aflibercept Injection (IAI; EYLEA®; BAY86-5321) on the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) assessed by the early treatment diabetic retinopathy study (ETDRS) chart in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) with central involvement.
NCT01549964
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of 2 doses of TAK-875 (25 mg and 50 mg), once daily (QD), plus metformin compared to placebo plus metformin and sitagliptin plus metformin on lowering blood sugar.
NCT01458951
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tofacitinib (CP-690,550) in patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis who have failed or be intolerant to one of following treatments for ulcerative colitis: oral steroids, azathiopurine/6-mercaptopurine, or anti-TNF-alpha therapy.
NCT01658904
Background: \- Plasma cell myeloma is a type of cancer that affects the plasma cells in the bone marrow. It can be difficult to treat with chemotherapy. One possible treatment combines chemotherapy with a stem cell transplant. To make this treatment more effective, researchers want to give another drug along with the transplant. This drug, carfilzomib, is often used to help treat plasma cell myeloma. However, it is not usually given along with the transplant. Researchers want to see if it is safe and effective to combine the stem cell transplant with carfilzomib, and if it improves the results of the transplant. Objectives: \- To test the safety and effectiveness of carfilzomib given with stem cell transplant for plasma cell myeloma. Eligibility: \- Individuals between 18 and 75 years of age who are having a stem cell transplant to treat plasma cell myeloma. Design: * Participants will be screened with a physical exam and medical history. Blood and urine samples will be collected. Imaging studies and a bone marrow biopsy will also be performed. * Participants will have their own stem cells collected for the transplant. The transplant will be performed according to the standard of care. * All participants will receive carfilzomib on the first 2 days after transplant. The study doctors will determine the number of additional doses that they may have. * Treatment will be monitored with frequent blood tests and imaging studies.
NCT01829464
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of TAK-875 (fasiglifam) in combination with sitagliptin on glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
NCT01829477
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of TAK-875 compared to placebo on glycemic control over a 24-week Treatment Period when used as an add-on to glimepiride in addition to diet and exercise.
NCT00144014
A Phase II study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of five dose levels of study drug in acute ischaemic stroke
NCT00993382
The Primary objective was to assess the efficacy of Celivarone for the prevention of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) interventions or death. Secondary objectives were: * To assess the tolerability and safety of the different dose regimens of Celivarone in the selected population. * To document Celivarone plasma levels during the study.
NCT01013324
There has not been any systemic therapy approved in the United States or in Europe for treating advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer (EC). This study will evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of XL147 in advanced or recurrent EC. Constitutively active phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K)/phosphatase and tensin homolog on chromosome 10 (PTEN) pathway signaling is common in EC and involved in the development and/or progression of the disease. PTEN deficiency and/or activating mutations/amplification in the PIK3CA gene that encodes the p110α catalytic subunit of PI3K have been frequently detected in EC patients. XL147 is a potent and highly selective inhibitor of the Class I PI3K family of lipid kinases. In addition, in vivo preclinical data have demonstrated that XL147 targets both proximal and distal signaling in the PI3K/PTEN pathway. Therefore, XL147 may have utility in the treatment of subjects with advanced or recurrent EC.
NCT02466061
This randomized, controlled study evaluates the efficacy of weigh loss interventions in endometrial cancer survivors, using novel technology-based weight loss platforms. This is a multi-site, pilot feasibility study which will provide preliminary data to support a larger NIH funded, mult-center trial.
NCT02188173
This is a study of OZURDEX® use in clinical practice in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME).
NCT01020838
To determine the sensitivity and specificity of the visual assessment of tracer uptake in the Florbetaben PET images compared to histological verification of the presence or absence of cerebral β-amyloid in the respective histopathologic post mortem specimens as the standard of truth
NCT01284530
Multidose, Open-label, Multi-center Study to examine the steady state pharmacokinetics of TPM XR, as well as, safety and tolerability of repeated oral dosing in pediatric subjects with epilepsy.
NCT00417209
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and the safety Larotaxel administered as single agent every 3 weeks to continuous administration of 5-FU every 3 weeks, in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer (non operable in a curative intent, locally recurrent or metastatic) previously treated with gemcitabine based therapy.
NCT01455870
Phase 3 study to compare treatment with ITCA 650 to sitagliptin when added to metformin monotherapy in patients with type 2 diabetes.
NCT00082823
RATIONALE: Intravenous VEGF Trap may stop the growth of solid tumors or non-Hodgkin's lymphoma by stopping blood flow to the cancer. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects of VEGF Trap in treating patients with relapsed or refractory advanced solid tumors or non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT02467634

NCT00175526
At present, the management of pre-eclampsia is guided by expert opinions that are not well-based on firm evidence. What is required is a clinical tool that can accurately determine a women's risk for adverse outcomes, and thereby reduce the risk for women while safely prolonging pregnancies remote from term (to improve fetal outcomes). This research project, 'a severity score for pre-eclampsia,' will develop such a clinical tool that is specific to the condition. This severity score will be used clinically (to guide management) and in research (in both clinical trials and basic science research), and will provide an evidence base on which to build future practice, improving outcomes for pregnant women and their babies. In addition, this project is part of a three part strategy to better understand the mechanisms of disease in pre-eclampsia and to investigate a potential disease-modifying therapy, namely, recombinant human activated protein C.
