Sturge weber's syndrome is an oculcutaneous syndrome, ocular manifestations may include heamangioma in the eye lids, choroidal heamangioma, or glaucoma, the glaucoma may present at infancy and may be due to resistance to aqueous outflow through trabecular meshwork(1), it may develop later and this is due to episcleral venous raised pressure.(2-3) Glaucoma associated with Sturge weber syndrome is difficult to be treated medically with high risk of complications when treated with bleb -based surgeries. Suprachoroidal hemorrhage or detachment is a challenging complication which must be encountered. The usage of Ahmed valve in the management of glaucoma associated with Sturge weber syndrome is a bleb based procedure carries the risks of over filtration or encapsulation and decreased filtration with failure to control glaucoma. The use of Ahmed valve in the management of pediatric glaucoma associated with Sturge weber syndrome has better results as recorded by Nassiri et al. Ahmed valve implantation can have some drawbacks such as pupillary irregularity, lens opacification, or encapsulation.(4-7) Glaucoma drainage devices such as Ahmed valve, Molteno or Braeveldt valve can be used when other methods of treatment fail, they provide alternative pathway to the aqueous to be collected in a plate positioned under the conjunctiva, (8-10) Encapsulation is a major problem occurs around the end plate due to fibrous reaction and so the drainage of the aqueous is decreased , Epatein (11) attributed that to fibro vascular proliferation in the episcleral tissue .the fibrous reaction is multifactorial , it may be due to the size of the end plate, the biomaterial, design or the shape of the plate. The use of drainage devices with advanced drug delivery system can improve the success of drainage device. A double-layered porous coating for Ahmed glaucoma valves based on biodegradable poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) was described by Ponnusamy et al. \[12\] to produce continuous release of antifibrotic agents \[mitomycin C (MMC) and/or 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)\] to the subconjunctival space. This release continue for about one month with decreasing fibrosis, the nanofiltration membrane could entrap the proteins passing out from the anterior chamber leading to minimal increase in aqueous resistance.(12-13)

Study is designed to assess the efficacy and safety of memantine XR and pregabalin in reducing neuropathic pain in patients with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) caused by prior treatment with any chemotherapy as measured by the Brief Pain Inventory- Short Form (BPI-SF). It will also determine the influence of these drugs on peripheral neuropathy-related functional status and quality of life (QOL) as measured by the EORTC QLQ-C30.

COPD is a common, preventable and treatable disease that is characterized by persistent respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation that is due to airway and/or alveolar abnormalities, usually caused by significant exposure to noxious particles or gases. COPD is third leading cause of death worldwide. "Ideal cardiovascular health," a set of factors, including several directly along the causal pathway of transitions from health to disease, that protect against the development of cardiac disease. Working definition of respiratory health are the dual concepts of pulmonary reserve, as reflected by peak lung function in young adulthood, and susceptibility, as reflected by risk for future accelerated decline in lung function after the attainment of this peak. There is relationship between physical activity, disease severity, health status and prognosis in patients with COPD. Common pulmonary function tests include spirometry, lung volumes, and diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO). Spirometry assesses airflow limitation. Diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide provides information on the health of alveolar-capillary membrane. This study will be cross-sectional correlational study. It will find correlation between person's physical activity and respiratory health. IPAQ and 6MIN walk test will be used as measuring tools of physical activity and FEV1 and TLV for estimating respiratory health. Spirometer will be used to measure respiratory health. Data will be collected from different hospital settings and analysed using SPSS software. All ethical considerations will be followed.

Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) and delirium (incidence up to 42 %) after cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) are common postoperative complications that impair the patient's quality of life and increase the risk of death. Our previous studies confirm that postoperative POCD are associated with impaired cerebral autoregulation (CA) and momentary increased intracranial pressure (ICP) during surgery. The upper and lower limits of CA are individual and variable. In the elderly, CA is already partially impaired due to decreased cerebral vascular elasticity. What should be the optimal mean arterial pressure for each of these patients individually is not known. In order to individualize the boundaries of CA and prevent postoperative neurological complications, it would be ideal to objectify the condition of cerebral blood vessels. Direct studies of cerebrovascular and vascular status (CT angiography) are invasive and complex, and are therefore not routinely performed prior to cardiac surgery. However, cerebral blood flow and vascular condition can be assessed by retinal blood vessels, which can be considered as a direct biomarker of cerebrovascular disorders and can be visualized by ophthalmoscopy and objectively assessed by optical coherent tomography with angiography. In this biomedical study, individual patient CA will be monitored in a non-invasive manner during cardiac surgery with CPB. These data would allow real-time adjustments to physiological parameters while keeping them within normal limits. This is expected to reduce the risk of CA impairment and reduce the incidence of neurological complications following such surgery. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness in the world. As the population ages, the number of people with glaucoma increases as the prevalence of glaucoma increases with age. Recently, the influence of ICP on glaucoma optic neuropathy has been highlighted. It is thought that the pressure difference in the optic nerve area may be related to damage to the axons of the ganglion cells passing through the porous plate. Noninvasive ICP measurement is useful in explaining the pathophysiology of glaucoma, assessing translaminar pressure differentials, and seeking new guidelines for the treatment and prevention of glaucoma. Retinal blood flow, like cerebral blood flow, is autoregulated, autoregulation is maintained only within certain limits of perfusion pressure. Decreased ocular perfusion pressure impairs retinal autoregulation and may lead to the development or progression of glaucoma neuropathy. And the activity of neurons in the brain and retina causes local changes in blood circulation. Disruption of this neurovascular interaction during glaucoma neuropathy has not been adequately studied.The introduction of modern technologies into clinical practice enables the qualitative and quantitative assessment of autoregulatory disorders and the selection of optimal treatment.

A prospective study, with outcomes including re-rupture rate and return to sport will be collected following ACL reconstruction. In keeping with the surgeon's standard practice, patients 24 years and under that are skeletally mature, will receive a quad tendon autograft; patients 25 years of age and over will receive an allograft All-Inside ACL reconstruction. These two cohorts will then be randomized into two groups, one with bone marrow/DBM and InternalBrace augmentation, and one without. The study procedures will involve use of x-rays, MRI, CT scan, and surveys at varying time points to assess radiographic, imaging and clinical outcomes.

Test the effect of added a single-use Varnum mouthpiece on pharyngeal collapsibility and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity in patients who identify themselves as mouth breathers. Research indicates that nasal breathing not only may improve sleep apnea but it also increases circulation, blood oxygen, and carbon dioxide levels, slows the breathing rate, and improves overall lung volumes. Thus, the investigators will test whether a single-use Varnum mouthpiece can improve pharyngeal collapsibility and OSA severity in mouth breathers.

All patients who met the inclusion criteria and agreed to participate in the study underwent baseline capsule endoscopy. Patients with intestinal mucosal injury detected during the initial capsule endoscopy were randomly divided into isoladin maleate group or magnesium aluminum carbonate control group using computer-generated random numbers. Patients in the isoladine maleate group received 4 mg isoladine maleate (Gesellon, Japan) every morning for 4 weeks (or 8 weeks, duration to be determined); Magnesium aluminum carbonate control group received 1 g magnesium aluminum carbonate every morning, afternoon and evening for 4 weeks (or 8 weeks, course to be determined). After treatment, capsule endoscopy was performed again to evaluate the healing of intestinal mucosa.

Only volunteer participants will be included in the research. Its population study 3-6 years old children diagnosed with epilepsy Eskişehir City Hospital Child Neurology Outpatient Clinic between 01 September 2020 and 31 September 2021. Parkinson disease (PD), multiple system atrophy (MSA) and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) are neurodegenerative disorders. PD and MSA are alpha-synucleinopathies, which are characterized by the abnormal accumulation of alpha-synuclein, while tau protein accumulates in PSP. The development of biological markers for the diagnosis and prognosis in PD, MSA and PSP remains an unmet need. Such biological markers are crucial for future disease-modification and neuroprotection trials. Alpha-synuclein has a high potential for biomarker development since it constitutes the pathological hallmark feature in PD and MSA. The oligomeric alpha-synuclein seems to be particularly involved in abnormal protein aggregation in alpha-synucleinopathies. The main objective is to compare oligomeric alpha-synuclein CSF levels between PD, MSA and PSP patients. PD and MSA patients will receive Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) and blood sampling at two study visits (baseline and after 12 months). Major secondary objectives are (i) to assess potential associations between the biomarker and clinical measures of disease severity and progression in MSA and PSP, and (ii) to assess the variation of the biomarker and its correlation to disease severity and progression in PD, MSA and PSP.

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA) is a disease affecting 5-15% of population and 50-80% of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obese subjects. OSA causally contributes to the development of glucose intolerance and T2DM. The project is targeting the gap in providing effective treatment of metabolic impairments associated with OSA, particularly T2DM. In contrast to proved benefits of OSA treatment with CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) on cardiovascular morbidity/mortality, studies on the impact of CPAP on diabetes control are disappointing. In fact, OSA-induced metabolic impairments might not be reversible with CPAP treatment, as investigators suggested recently. Clearly, the search for additional treatments, probably pharmacological, is warranted. Investigators hypothesize that elevated levels of free fatty acids (FFA), as detected in OSA patients, are linking OSA with the T2DM development. The aim of the study is to target adipose tissue and muscle dysfunction leading to elevated FFA and develop thus novel pharmacological treatments based on lipolysis inhibition and stimulation of FFA oxidation.

FOLFOX, the first-line regimen based on 5-FU and oxaliplatin, is adjuvant chemotherapy for pathologic stage II/III colorectal cancer patients. Among various side effects of FOLFOX, chemotherapy-induced anemia occurs in about 30% of patients with FOLFOX chemotherapy. An oral iron supplement is a widely accepted treatment for chemotherapy-induced anemia, but an oral iron supplement has a lot of inconveniences that can make patients' adherence worse, such as gastrointestinal discomfort, a long period of oral intake, and late recovery of serum iron level. Intravenous iron infusion has been recently reported to be effective and safe to correct anemia. Previous studies reported that intravenous iron is also effective to correct chemotherapy-induced anemia. However, there is a paucity of studies associated with colorectal cancer patients with FOLFOX chemotherapy. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of intravenous iron on chemotherapy-induced anemia after FOLFOX chemotherapy for patients with colorectal cancer compared with the effect of oral iron supplements. Parameters including serum Hb, serum iron, serum ferritin concentrations, total iron-binding capacity, absolute neutrophil count, platelet, albumin, C reactive protein, hepcidin, soluble transferrin receptor, and IL6 will be analyzed. In addition, information on chemotoxicity, adverse events during chemotherapy and quality of life will be collected and analyzed.
