NCT00382122
Demographic information and a brief medical and concomitant medicine history will be obtained from the glaucoma patient's records. Qualified patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their symptoms. Patients will then be scheduled to undergo three standard clinical tests of the ocular surface.
NCT00468988
Compare the effect of Xalatan with benzalkonium chloride on the ocular surface to those effects observed with Travatan Z without benzalkonium chloride after a single dose
NCT00518128
The goal of this research is to improve our understanding of the effectiveness of surgical OSA treatment by evaluating its impact on these health-related and functional outcomes and comparing these effects to the changes in respiratory physiology achieved after surgery. To achieve this goal, we will examine key health-related (C-reactive protein, homocysteine, leptin, the homeostasis model of insulin resistance, and heart rate variability) and functional (sleep-related quality of life and vigilance) measures among a surgical group of OSA patients who do not tolerate non-surgical treatment (positive airway pressure, PAP) and a comparison group of matched OSA patients who tolerate PAP.
NCT00267046
Primary: 1. To evaluate the preliminary efficacy of palifermin in reducing the incidence and severity of oral mucositis (OM) in patients with sarcoma receiving multicycle chemotherapy. 2. To evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK) of palifermin when given pre chemotherapy. 3. To evaluate the safety profile of palifermin when combined with multicycle chemotherapy. Exploratory: 1. To evaluate the biologic effect of palifermin on oral mucosa. 2. To investigate potential biomarker development by biochemical analysis in blood cells, serum, and plasma. 3. To investigate the effects of genetic variation in mucositis genes, drug metabolism genes, and drug target genes on patient response to the treatment regimen.
