The investigators would like to conduct a prospective, multicenter, two-armed trial (RCT with follow-up). Patients will be recruited from 7 centers (CH/D). All patients (and their guardians) scheduled to receive chemotherapy containing either a platinum derivate or vinca-alkaloid, will be asked to participate. Willing patients will then be randomized either into an intervention group or a control group. Patients in the intervention group will perform a standardized, age-adjusted, specific playful sensorimotor training (SMT) program twice a week for the duration of their medical therapy, in addition to usual care, while the control group receives treatment as usual. The CG will be given the opportunity to participate in the intervention after therapy. Data will be assessed at 3-4 time points: Prior to chemotherapy (baseline T0), after 12 weeks (T1), after completion of therapy for children that are treated \>3 months (Tp) and after 12 months follow-up (T3). Additionally, status of Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) reported symptoms will be monitored twice in-between (6 weeks). The investigators hypothesize that less children in the intervention group will develop symptoms of CIPN (TNS score) with its debilitating side-effects. Furthermore, children in the intervention group will be able to maintain relevant motor and sensory functions and their associated physical functions which will enable them to receive their planned medical therapy but also to stay on the age-appropriate motor development level, improve their quality life and enhance social reintegration after therapy.

Azoospermia is defined as the complete absence of spermatozoa in the ejaculate. Two-thirds of azoospermic patients have non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA); the latter comprises up to 10% of infertile men overall. NOA is an untreatable testicular disorder associated with spermatogenic failure and is the most severe male infertility phenotype. Among the available surgical sperm retrieval techniques, microdissection testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE) is the procedure of choice due to its high sperm retrieval success rates (SRR), minimal tissue extraction, and low complication rates. Even with the use of micro-TESE, the likelihood of retrieving sperm in patients with NOA remain suboptimal (40% to 60%). Hypogonadism is detected in approximately half of the patients with NOA. Given the role of intratesticular testosterone (ITT) levels for spermatogenesis, some studies have explored the clinical utility of testosterone optimization by medical therapy before sperm retrieval. Moreover, some investigators have hypothesized that the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) reset might increase the expression of FSH receptors and improve Sertoli cell function. Hormonal therapy with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) has been shown to improve ITT production and decrease FSH levels in patients with NOA. The investigators, therefore, designed an observational cohort study aiming to evaluate whether hormone stimulation with gonadotropins (e.g., hCG alone or combined with FSH) previous to micro-TESE increases sperm retrieval rates in hypogonadal infertile men with NOA, candidates for sperm retrieval. The investigators hypothesize that optimizing ITT production and resetting FSH levels may improve spermatogenesis and successful sperm recovery.

The purpose of the study is to test the antibacterial effect of Parodontax toothpaste on plaque formation, and thus gingivitis compared to placebo toothpaste. Each subject will be given 2 plastic splints that are individually adapted to their quadrant 1 and 2. In the splint in the 1st quadrant, Parodontax test toothpaste will be placed, while in the splint in the 2nd quadrant, regular toothpaste will be placed, which the subject uses daily. Each person's set of teeth is otherwise professionally cleaned.

The goal of this observational study is to provide a feasible surgical strategy based on Nagata method for patients who require secondary revision surgeries and to verify its long-term aesthetic outcomes. The main question it aims to answer is: • Whether ear reconstruction surgery based on Nagata method can improve the unsatisfactory outcomes of primary reconstruction surgery? Participants who had accepted secondary ear reconstruction based on Nagata method in our department will be required to received questionnaires in the follow-up and their photographs will be collected for reconstructed ear evaluation of its realness through convolutional neural network (CNN) models we previously developed.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the safety of axillary or primary breast approach for second-stage operation in expander-implant breast reconstruction for breast cancer patients. The main question it aims to answer are: 1. if the wound related events, including wound dehiscence, infection, delayed healing is significant less often in patients receiving second stage operation via axillary approach compared with primary breast approach; 2. if the aesthetic outcome is comparable between patients receiving different approach for second stage operation. To answer these questions, the breast cancer patients have received nipple-sparing or skin-sparing mastectomy and had breast tissue expander insertion via breast incision, will be prospectively recruited, and randomized into two groups while receiving implant exchange operation: (1) operate via axillary incision; (2) operate via primary breast incision.

Background: In order to allow our satisfied patients, who have successfully completed 24 months of rapid intravenous infusion of Velaglucerase alfa (VPRIV), to continue with the 10 minutes IV therapy, the clinical trial framework must be extended; and this extension is important for the assessment of long term benefit (up to 5 years) of this regimen of administration of Velaglucerase alfa.. Suggested trial: An additional 36 months home therapy follow up of safety and efficacy of rapid intravenous infusion of Velaglucerase alfa (VPRIV) in adult patients with type 1 Gaucher disease. Patients must have completed the prior 4 parts / 24 months of the protocol before enrolling into this extension phase ("Part 5") and have provided a new consent before entering PART 5 of the study. Patients must not have experienced clinically significant AEs, including allergic reactions, in any of the prior study parts of this protocol to be eligible to participate, and have maintained stability in the key disease features. All infusions of 10' will be given in the context of home therapy. "Clinically significant" AEs will be determined by the PI using standard description of AEs as previously described at phase 3, and if necessary will support withdrawal of the patient from the study.

The objective of this study is to assess Elelyso treatment on bone disease in Gaucher patients currently treated with other enzyme replacement therapy. Experience from early access program (2009-2012) has suggested that some patients who have been stable on imiglucerase have shown poor scores of QCSI with Fat Fraction below the cut off point of 0.23 which is considered "bone at risk", and have demonstrated remarkable improvement upon switching to Elelyso, including particularly 2 patients who did not have any change in dose or any drug interruption prior to the switch. These findings may be explained by the better glycan structure of imiglucerase (see Tekoah et al, 2013). The fact that in many patients prevention of bony complications is the main indication for ERT highlights the importance of this study, as all clinical trials of all ERTS heretofore did not include the bones as primary or secondary end-points but only as exploratory, and as such had only limited value,

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a real-time home CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training program. The study participants will be allocated to two different CPR training programs. The intervention group will participate in the real-time home CPR training program while the control group will participate in the conventional CPR training program. The investigators will compare the quality of chest compression between the two study groups. The investigators hypothesize that the new real-time home CPR training program is non-inferior to the preexisting conventional CPR training program.

PURPOSE: Glaucoma is the leading cause of non-curable blindness globally. Patients with glaucoma will get a gradual narrowing of the visual fields caused by compression at the optic nerve head due to increased intraocular pressure. Thus the main preventive strategy is to reduce intraocular pressure, initially by eye drops and/or laser treatment but in some patients surgery is warranted. The surgical procedure (trabeculectomy) most widely performed worldwide creates a path from the anterior chamber to the subconjunctival space and thereby lowers the IOP by producing a more efficient drainage of the aqueous humour. Surgical success depends upon controlling post-operative inflammation to ensure a functional drainage. The purpose of this blinded, randomized study is to investigate which anti-inflammatory treatment provides better long-term control of intra-ocular pressure (IOP) following glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy) by comparing topical NSAIDs to topical steroids. Additionally, we want to explore the mechanisms behind the pathophysiology of glaucoma by evaluating retinal and optic nerve head perfusion before and after IOP lowering surgery. The primary outcome is the intraocular pressure 12 months after surgery measured by applanation tonometry. MAIN HYPOTHESIS: * NSAIDs and steroids are equally effective in assuring long-term filtering function and controlling IOP after trabeculectomy but may be associated with different risk profiles and bleb morphology * Patients with lower post-operative IOP demonstrate less progression of visual field loss * Trabeculectomy lowers IOP and provides better microcirculation in and oxygenation of inner retinal layers (i.e. ganglion cell layer) and the optic nerve head

This study is a randomized double-blind clinical trial that intends to evaluate the efficacy and safety of LGG administration at two different doses, for 1 month, in ulcerative colitis (UC) patients with mild-moderate disease activity in therapy with oral mesalamine. Efficacy of therapy will be evaluated by clinical (Clinical Mayo score, quality of life assessment), endoscopic (Endoscopic Mayo score), histological, biochemical (white cell count, C-reactive protein), and molecular (mucosal colonization of the bacteria, pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines measurement) parameters. UC patients with mild-moderately active disease despite oral treatment with mesalamine will be assessed at baseline for clinical, endoscopic, histologic inflammatory activity. After a wash-out period of 4 weeks of mesalamine, patients will be randomized to assume a regular (LGG 1.2 × 10\^10 Colony Forming Units (CFU)/day, 2 capsules a day) or a double (LGG 2.4 × 10\^10 CFU/day, 4 capsules a day) dose of LGG for 1 month. At the end of the treatment, clinical, endoscopic, and histologic inflammatory activity will be evaluated and compared to pre-treatment data. Adhesion and molecular effect of LGG will be also evaluated. Safety will be assessed by weekly phone calls and with direct physical examination at the end of the study period.

Multi-center, prospective, open-label, single arm study. The study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Laser Assisted Liposuction procedure performed with the LipoLife system. The study will include twenty (20) eligible subjects, that are willing to undergo abdominal or outer thighs laser-assisted liposuction. Five to twenty (5-20) subjects out of this study group should also be eligible for facial fat grafting. Follow up visits to evaluate study endpoints will take place at 1, 3 and 6 months after the surgery.

COPD causes an acute deterioration of respiratory symptoms, particularly increased breathlessness and cough, and increased sputum volume and/or purulence. Worsening airflow limitation is associated with an increasing prevalence of exacerbations and risk of death. These exacerbations can range from self-limited diseases to episodes of florid respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation .Hospitalization for COPD patients post COVID is associated with poor prognosis with increased risk of death. Hence techniques of efficient clearance of peripheral airways may reduce airway occlusion by excess mucus and inflammatory cells, improving lung function, exercise capacity and reducing exacerbation frequency.

The primary objective of this study is to prospectively evaluate rate of post-operative ileus or obstruction in patients with ileostomies receiving low fiber diet vs. regular diet starting post-operative day 1. The secondary objectives of this study are to compare the 30-day and 90-day readmission rates, length of stay, rate of high stoma output or need for antidiarrheals within 90 days, nausea score, level of pain, and overall quality of life amongst the patients studied.

Although smoking has been proposed as well, as a risk factor/indicator for peri-implantitis, there is currently no conclusive evidence. The current literature confronts the inconclusive evidence of tobacco for a risk factor. Therefore, the aim of the present investigation is to determine the association between tobacco and peri-implantitis in sample of patients who had received therapy implant-supported restorative therapy in a university setting. The present study was designed as a retrospective case control study in a sample of patients with implant-supported restorative therapy 7-19 years after restorative phase. The study was conducted at the Clinica Universitaria d'Odontologia (CUO) in the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) for 1 month and was performed following the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki (revised, amended, and clarified in 2013. Prior to enrol the study a written informed consent was signed. Patients provided with implant-supported restorative therapy between 2001-2013 was selected from the UIC database. The sample was divided in three groups: healthy patients, patients with mucositis and patients with peri-implantitis. During the examination, the clinician reviewed with the patient the Information and Medication History Forms and record the anthropometric, socio-demographic and clinical information. An initial questionnaire was conducted to obtain information regarding age, gender, medical history, medication, and health behaviour. Candidates underwent an oral pathology examination and a full-mouth probing using a standardize pressure (20N) probe SONDA PA\_ON (Orange Dental®, Aspachstr, Biberach, Germany) to determine their periodontal and peri-implant status. All statistical analyses were performed with the package RStudio (V2.5). Descriptive characteristics regarding all the covariates were summarized. Periimplant bone loss (95% Confidence Interval - 95% CI) were calculated both at implant- and at patient-level. A multilevel regression model will be applied to evaluate the influence of some risk/protective indicators on the risk for peri-implant bone loss. Risk/protective indicators for periimplantitis will be studied using multilevel (mixed-effects) multivariate regression analyses (patient- and implant-level). Each potential indicator was tested individually by adding it to an empty model having as dependent variable the peri-implant status and testing the significance.

Erythropoietin (EPO) biosimilarity for GBPD002 (test candidate) and Eprex® (comparator) has been evaluated by comparing the pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) properties following subcutaneous injection in human subjects. This was a randomized, double-blind, two-sequence, crossover study. Subjects were randomly assigned and received a dose (4,000 IU) of either the test or comparator EPO. The subjects received the alternative formulation after the wash out period (4 weeks) of the first administration. The primary PK parameters, viz., maximum observed concentration (Cmax) and area under the curve extrapolated to infinity (AUC00-inf), were calculated with the serum EPO concentrations from blood samples and were found comparable for both formulations. The geometric mean ratios (@90% CI) of the Cmax and AUCinf were 1.16 and 0.89, respectively, which were within the regulatory range of 0.80-1.25. The reticulocyte, hematocrit, hemoglobin and red blood cell counts were measured as PD markers. The time-matched serum EPO concentrations and PD markers denoted a counterclockwise hysteresis, and thereby suggesting a time delay between the observed concentration and the response. ANOVA derived P-values (all were greater than 0.05) for the effectors clearly revealed the similarity between effects on PD markers for both formulations. Both formulations were found tolerated well, and anti-drug antibodies were not observed. Thus, the two formulations are projected to be used interchangeably in clinical settings.

This is a single-arm phase II study of twenty-one subjects with mucinous adenocarcinoma of the colon, rectum, or appendix with prior systemic therapy with a fluoropyrimidine, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan. Treatment will consist of nivolumab 480mg every 4 weeks and ipilimumab 1mg/kg every 8 weeks until disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, or 2 years of therapy.

Patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD) presenting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) represent a high-risk group among the cardiac surgical population. Anesthetic management of these patients is challenging due to increased risk of perioperative hypotension and subsequently increased risk of postoperative morbidity and mortality. Post induction hypotension is a modifiable risk that can be largely prevented by adjusting the technique for anesthesia induction. There is no consensus on the use of certain anesthetic induction techniques for patients CAD and left ventricular dysfunction. Anesthesia induction techniques for cardiovascular surgery are usually based on considerations such as hemodynamic stability, effects on myocardial oxygen supply, and demand and minimizing intubation stress response.To the best of our knowledge, there is no previous data comparing the efficacy of adding lidocaine versus fentanyl to the induction of anesthesia with ketamine in patients with poor ventricular function.

In this FinUC study we are trying to find out the efficacy and safety of the Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in newly diagnosed active ulcerative colitis patients. The study group with newly diagnosed active ulcerative colitis receive an FMT via colonoscopy from a tested general donor, frozen and thawed from a fecal bank at week 0 and at week 4 as an enema at the study nurse´s visit. The control group will be given colored water. The main aim of the FinUC study is to determine how the FMT change of the gut microbiota composition in newly diagnosed active ulcerative colitis patients. The other aim is to determine efficacy and mechanisms of fecal microbiota transplantation.
