NCT06383754
This prospective randomized controlled trial will be conducted to investigate Clareon intraocular lens (IOL) stability in vitrectomy patients. The investigator plans to target the patients undergoing cataract surgery. A randomized study will be conducted with 2 arms, one with Clareon IOL versus a second arm using the Tecnis 1 In this non-inferiority study, the investigator will compare Clareon IOL from Alcon with the existing Tecnis 1 IOL from Precision Lens which is the commonly used intraocular lens in combined vitrectomy cases in Hong Kong.
NCT03451500
From 3 large patient databases, patients diagnosed with AMD who have never taken levodopa(L-DOPA) containing medications have a mean age of diagnosis at 71 years. Patients who have been treated with L-DOPA containing medications have a mean age of diagnosis of AMD at 79 years. L-DOPA binds to GPR143 in the retinal pigment epithelium, and releases PEDF, which protects the retina and downregulates VEGF, which is the cause of neovascularization. The Investigators will evaluate the safety and tolerability of carbidopa-levodopa in patients with Neovascular AMD, and measure the effects on visual acuity and retinal abnormalities due to "wet" (neovascular) AMD. The Investigators will evaluate the safety and tolerability of carbidopa-levodopa in patients with Dry AMD and Geographic Atrophy, and measure the effects on visual acuity, area of geographic atrophy and other retinal abnormalities due to "dry" AMD.
NCT04694378
Patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting up tp 30% will develop postoperative right ventricle dysfunction. Its imperative for the physician to fully understand the severity of this complication in order to perform an early diagnosis and carry out the appropriate treatment. Aim: Investigate the correlation between echocardiographic measurements and hemodynamic changes at different time points in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery Hypothesis: 1. Weak correlation between echocardiographic measurements and hemodynamic changes during coronary artery bypass graft surgery 2. Echocardiographic measurements would change across different time points during surgery independent of hemodynamic values.
