NCT06194058
There is a great heterogeneity in the practice of rapid sequence induction in the operating room in the world. There are no recent data assessing the rate of implementation of the latest French formalized expert recommendations in clinical practice. In addition, the modalities for the management of haemodynamic disorders, particularly hypotensive disorders, during rapid sequence induction are not described in these recommendations, although these are frequent events with a non-zero morbidity mortality potential. The goal of this prospective, observational, multicenter, anesthetic study is to describe the clinical practice of French anesthesiologists regarding the prevention of severe hemodynamic disorders during rapid sequence anesthetic induction in adult patients. The primary outcome measure is the occurrence of a major haemodynamic disorder defined by a MBP ≤ 50 mmHg (or ≤ 40% of the reference value) and/or ≥ 110 mmHg and/or the occurrence of sustained arrhythmia not present at induction and/or cardiac arrest within the first 10 minutes after induction of anesthesia. The clinical practices of pre-oxygenation, induction and intubation of French anesthesiologists and compliance with the formalized expert recommendations of 2017 and 2018 will also be studied secondarily. The elements for the prevention of gastric fluid inhalation, the organization and equipment used, the anesthetic and non-anesthetic drugs used, the clinical and paraclinical neurological and cardio-respiratory parameters and the nature of the complications following anaesthetic induction will be collected up to the 10th post-induction minute.
NCT05885048
The goal of this observational study is to learn how gonadotoxic treatments (chemotherapies, radiotherapies or immunotherapies) affect the fertility status of participants with cancer. The main questions it aims to answer are: * in females, if cancer therapies reduce the Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) concentration (ovarian reserve); * in males, if cancer therapies reduce sperm concentration (sperm quality).
NCT06438939
Early detection - possibly at its pre-malignant stages (Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders, OPMD) - with periodic surveillance is thus fundamental for limiting disease burden, hopefully reducing the incidence of advanced stages OSCC and increasing survival. Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) has proved itself as promising tool for helping clinician both for diagnosis and therapy. Yet, there is no definitive scientific evidence that NBI is superior to common oral examination with white light (WLOE) for diagnosing OSCC/OPMD. We thus propose a randomised clinical trial understand its role in this field.
NCT05169866
Postoperative atrial fibrillation is a major complication of cardiac surgery, which could lead to high morbidity and mortality, increase duration of hospital stay and increase the cost of treatment. New-onset atrial fibrillation after cardiac surgery is considered as a multifactorial phenomenon. Amiodarone, the most commonly used drug for cardioversion, is limited in atrial fibrillation after cardiac surgery due to side effects such as hypotension, bradycardia, and extracardiac side effects. Nifekalant is a novel class III antiarrhythmic agent with short onset time. It is a pure potassium channel blocker, which generally does not cause hypotension and bradycardia. There have been several trials that proven efficacy of nifekalant in converting persistent atrial fibrillation. For atrial fibrillation after cardiac surgery, the effectiveness and safety of nifekalant compared to amiodarone have not yet been reported. The investigators plan to perform a clinical trial comparing nifekalant to amiodarone in new-onset atrial fibrillation after cardiac surgery patients with a primary outcome of cardioversion at 4 hours. Secondary outcomes will follow cardioversion at 90 minutes and 24 hours, maintenance time of sinus rhythm within 24 hours, average time to conversion to sinus rhythm, rate of hypotension, length of ICU stay, length of hospital stay and hospital mortality.
NCT06235385
This study aims to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of multiple and mixed valvular heart disease (MMVD), which includes combinations of stenotic or regurgitant lesions on cardiac valves. The research will be conducted as a multicenter observational study, involving several centers worldwide, and will have a one-year follow-up period (with a possible extension to 5 years). The primary aim is to determine the proportion of MMVD among patients evaluated for valvular heart disease. Secondary aims include the evaluation of the epidemiologic distribution of clinical, biological, and cardiovascular imaging characteristics at baseline, management strategies, and their impact on prognosis. The study will also evaluate clinical outcomes such as mortality, hospitalization for heart failure, and changes in echocardiographic parameters. This research aims to provide valuable insights into the diagnosis, management, and prognosis of MMVD, addressing an important knowledge gap in this area.
NCT06439459

NCT03986749
The aim of this first study is to investigate in a case series through sequential sonographic imaging, using Doppler ultrasonography, the postoperative morphology, especially vascularity and findings of neovascularity, after bursa augmentation in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
NCT04176211
An international, non-interventional, prospective, community recruited, longitudinal, lifestyle study which aims to collect Real-World Evidence (RWE) from people living with myasthenia gravis (MG) in order to map the disease's natural history, its burden on patients and their families, its treatment, as well as its medical, social and pharmacoeconomic impact.
NCT05798260
T-Cell Mitochondrial Respiration Response to Ketone monoester (Ketoneaid) in Healthy Volunteers and COVID-19
NCT04566497
Due to the lack of randomized controlled trials, the best follow-up strategy of asymptomatic patients after coronary artery revascularization is controversial. A systematic screening of silent myocardial ischemia may help prevent a major acute cardiac event. However, systematic screening strategy is costly and there is currently no evidence that repeated revascularization improve survival. Moreover, stress testing per se or additional procedures which can be performed with regard of stress testing results can cause unexpected complications. ARCACHON is a national, multicenter, randomized, open label trial, that will evaluate the non-inferiority of a clinical follow-up as compared to a systematic stress testing strategy after coronary revascularization.
NCT06439368
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effect of dezocine combined with sufentanil on postoperative recovery quality and analgesic effect in patients undergoing thoracic surgery. It will also learn about the safety of dezocine. Researchers will compare drug dezocine to Sufentanil to see if dezocine works to Improve postoperative pain and recovery quality for patients. Participants will undergo elective surgery and receive PCIA postoperatively, taking dezocine combine with sufentanil,or only sufentanil respectively. Visit the VAS score after connecting the analgesic pump 24h and 48h,and evaluate the Quality of Recovery -15 score.

Evolocumab (Repatha) is an FDA-approved drug for lowering low density lipoprotein (LDL) in patients who have not received a heart transplant. This drug works as a PCSK9-inhibitor. The primary objective of this study is to measure the impact of PCSK9-inhibitors on serum LDL in heart transplant patients with CAV after 12 weeks compared to baseline.
NCT01622725
Since abdominal wall hernia repair is currently performed with the use of a mesh, side effects associated with the mesh are frequently reported during long term follow-up. These side effects are related to shrinkage of the mesh, adhesions to the bowl, pain, and inflammation of the skin and bowl. To reduce or prevent these effects, a fully resorbing mesh has been developed, which provides sufficient support and strength to allow efficient recovery of the abdominal wall, but also disappear from your body in three years time, so that you no longer have any synthetic material in your body. Previous resorbing meshes also disappeared but over a much shorter period of time, so that the hernia was insufficiently healed, with recurrence as a result. The TIGR™ mesh (the resorbable mesh used in the study) is in principle a synthetic mesh, made of two commonly used polymers, however it will retain 50% of its initial strength after six months. This in theory is enough to provide support of the collagen healing process during the initial wound-healing phase, but also to support the transition of initial collagen to functional collagen. The aim of this study is to compare TIGR™ with large pore mesh used in the repair of the anterior abdominal wall repair (incisional hernia, umbilical hernia, etc..Inguinal hernias are not part of the study). Therefore the patients will be divided into two groups, one group will be treated with a resorbing mesh, the other group will be treated with a permanent mesh. Otherwise there will be no difference in the medication or the surgical techniques used.
NCT06439303
The lack of clinical studies on the use of Cytisine in the treatment of the cessation of smoking, the need to find effective therapeutic alternatives and the opportunity to reduce costs related to the complications of cigarette smoking, represent the main reasons that led to the design of this study.
NCT05109338
Central venous catheter (CVC) insertion is a common surgical procedure performed in children for the delivery of nutritional support, medications, frequent blood draws or transfusions. Maintaining hygienic conditions is absolutely necessary in order to avoid contamination of the catheter and tubing to avoid bloodstream infections. Fractures in the tubing is a common complication that places children at increased risk for infections. In order to help keep the tubing stable to avoid fractures and dislodgements, a wearable device was created called Ben-Guard. This pilot study is being undertaken to determine if the Ben-Guard device will reduce the incidence and severity of adverse events in children requiring CVCs.
NCT04374656
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a newly identified, highly contagious RNA virus causing respiratory infectious disease, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Conjunctivitis has been reported as a rare finding of the disease, and preliminary studies showed that the virus RNA could be detected in ocular secretions using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays when conjunctivitis present. This study aims to estimate the proportion of SARS-CoV-2 associated conjunctivitis among patients with suspected viral conjunctivitis presented to the ophthalmology clinics of Wilmer Eye Institute during the COVID-19 pandemic. The investigators also aim to identify whether SARS-CoV-2 associated conjunctivitis is an isolated finding or an early sign of COVID-19.
