NCT06429605
Hysterectomy performed through the vaginal route (HVR) is the preferred method for women seeking hysterectomy to address uterine concerns such as premalignant conditions and fibroids. Compared to abdominal or laparoscopic approaches, HVR has shown to lead to quicker recovery times and faster resumption of daily activities. However, effectively managing postoperative pain remains a significant challenge for HVR patients. Duloxetine, a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor typically prescribed for major depression and anxiety, has also been utilized in treating chronic pain conditions like osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal pain. However, research into its use for alleviating acute postoperative pain is currently limited to a single trial. Additionally, it's unclear whether perioperative duloxetine could enhance overall recovery quality after surgery. This study hypothesized that perioperative duloxetine could improve postoperative recovery for HVR patients, with evaluation using the Quality of Recovery-15 questionnaire (QoR-15).
NCT04820322
Fibersym® is a RS4-type resistant modified wheat starch in which over 85% of the total starch is resistant starch as measured by AOAC method 991.43. It is meant to be consumed on a regular basis and doses up to 33g/day can be tolerated. The effect of a Fibersym-containing meal on postprandial glucose and insulin levels when compared to a control meal, where both meals contain the same amount of available carbohydrate, is not known. This study therefore investigated the acute effect of a Fibersym cookie and a control cookie matched for available carbohydrate after a 3-day habituation period.

NCT03830762
Xanamem™ is being developed as a potential drug for Alzheimer's disease. This study drug has been designed to change the cortisol levels in the brain. Cortisol is a naturally occurring hormone in the body. It is believed that reducing the level of cortisol will be a benefit in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The XanaHES study is testing the safety and tolerability of Xanamem. It is planned to enrol approximately 84 participants, male and female aged from 50 to 75 who are in good health, in the study at 1 centre in Australia. The XanaHES Phase I study is a single-blind study. Subjects will be randomised to receive either 20mg once daily Xanamem or Placebo in cohort 1. Once all subjects have completed the study treatment of 12 weeks, a dose escalation committee will decide if a new cohort, cohort 2, with 30mg once daily vs placebo is started.
NCT05810129
The immobilization process after an operation or injury in the upper extremity causes a loss of muscle mass and strength of 0.2% and 1.3% per day, respectively. Currently, the use of cross-education, which is unilateral training in the uninjured limb, during the immobilization period, is expanding, demonstrating a magnitude of strength gain in the immobilized limb from 8% to 77% of the mean of strength of the trained limb. Despite the evidenced benefits of cross-education in unilateral injuries such as distal radius fracture, anterior cruciate ligament injury, and knee replacement, very little is known about this effect in shoulder immobilization after clavicle fracture.
NCT06785753

NCT06785792
Posture is defined as the situation in which each part of the body is properly positioned in the adjacent segment and is in the most ideal position in proportion to the whole body. Posture requires the appropriateness of joint combinations and positions during movement. With the development of technology, various phone and computer-aided applications are used both in the correction and evaluation of posture. It is thought that posture disorders may cause various pathological problems in the future and may lead to functional limitations in the individual. With the developing technology, there are a limited number of studies on the validity and reliability of phone and computer-aided applications in every field of health. The aim of this study is to perform the validity and reliability study of a sensorless objective application integrated with artificial intelligence used in posture evaluation with the developing technology.

NCT06785584
According to the Global Cancer Statistics 2022 report, lung cancer is the most common type of cancer (12.4% of the total) and the leading cause of cancer deaths (18.7% of total cancer deaths). According to the pathological classification of patients, lung cancer is divided into small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer, of which non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for 80-85% of all lung cancer. Surgery is the preferred treatment for patients with early-stage lung cancer, according to the 2024 CSCO Guidelines. However, most patients have the possibility of recurrence and metastasis after surgery. The 5-year survival rate of patients with stage IA NSCLC is 80%-90%, but the 5-year survival rate of patients with stage ⅢB NSCLC drops to 40%. Neoadjuvant therapy has become an important part of the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in order to prolong the survival of patients. In the past few years, many driver genes of NSCLC have been identified, and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) is one of them. ALK was first identified in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). Studies at home and abroad have shown that ALK-rearranged (positive)NSCLC accounts for about 3%-7% of all NSCLC patients. Many studies have suggested that ALK-TKI is clinically feasible as a neoadjuvant therapy for ALK positve patients with locally advanced NSCLC. The investigators designed this study to explore the efficacy of enshatinib neoadjuvant therapy in patients with stage IIA to III ALK-positive lung adenocarcinoma

NCT06785545
It has been shown in the literature that urinary CA19-9 levels are associated with the degree of hydronephrosis and the anteroposterior diameter of the renal pelvis. Additionally, this marker has been reported as a potential indicator of kidney damage related to obstructive uropathies. A study conducted in our clinic, which has yet to be published, investigated CA19-9 levels in children with hydronephrosis of different etiologies. It found a statistically significant difference in CA19-9 levels between children with neurogenic and non-neurogenic lower urinary tract (LUT) dysfunction (Evaluation of Spot Urine Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9, Sodium, Potassium, and Creatinine Levels as Biomarkers for Differential Diagnosis of Hydronephrosis and Detection of Kidney Damage in Children Aged 0-16: A Prospective Study, Kütükoğlu et al.). Based on this, the hypothesis was formulated that urinary CA19-9 might be a potential biomarker for indicating neurological deficits in children presenting with LUT symptoms. Therefore, this study aimed to compare CA19-9 levels in a larger group of children with neurogenic and non-neurogenic LUT dysfunction.
