In this study, a deliberate practice-based approach to therapist training will be compared to theoretical teaching. The main hypothesis is that deliberate practice training will result in a larger improvement in students' observer-rated interpersonal skills. About 200 graduate students from two Danish universities will be randomized into two groups, a) deliberate practice training of non-specific psychotherapeutic skills using role-play and Theravue, an online skill-building system with therapy videos; or b) theoretical teaching. Each condition consists of 15 hours of classroom participation and homework. The study has the potential to transform the training of psychotherapy skills.

CD19 CAR-T has been widely developed in patients with R/R ALL and has also been generally recognized by the industry. In 2017, the U.S. FDA approved Novartis's CD 19 CAR-T product Kymriah for the treatment of R/R ALL. However, these CAR-T cells are constructed from patients' autologous T cells, and the production and preparation time is long; on the other hand, most patients have received multiple chemotherapy before CAR-T treatment, and the quantity and quality of T cells often cannot meet the needs of clinical treatment. It is also an important factor leading to the failure of CAR-T cell therapy, which limits the large-scale clinical application of CAR-T. T cells derived from healthy donors are not only sufficient in quantity and quality guaranteed, but also available at any time. In December 2020, lancet reported a clinical study of 19 patients receiving allogeneic CAR-T cell ALL. 14 patients were evaluated as CR/CRi (67%) 28 days after treatment, and the median sustained remission time was 4.1 moon. Allogeneic CAR-T cells are safe and effective for the treatment of ALL, and their clinical application range is expected to improve the remission rate and survival rate of patients with R/R ALL.

Anxiety is among the most prevalent, costly and disabling illnesses and tends emerge early in childhood. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the first-line treatment for early life anxiety, but as many as 40% of young patients who receive CBT fail to get better. The proposed study will examine brain changes marking positive response to CBT for anxiety and how these changes may differ in children compared adolescents. By helping us to understand how CBT works, this study will pave the way for new treatments to stop anxiety early.

This observational, Hybrid II study leverages a real-world, system-initiated roll-out of R3, a supervisor-targeted implementation strategy aimed at infusing the use of evidence-based principles across multiple levels of the workforce within a public child welfare system. This project aims to study the effectiveness of R3 in impacting organizational inner-context variables and subsequent positive outcomes for one of the nation's most costly and vulnerable populations-families involved in the child welfare system.

Resistance training done at home and protein supplementation may be the most effective and easiest to implement interventions to reverse frailty and build resilience. However, it is not common practice to offer and support such interventions in primary care. This study provides an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of an optimised intervention with community-dwelling adults aged 65 and over, whose baseline clinical frailty score is not worse than mild (i.e. 5 or less), evaluate improvements in health outcomes and demonstrate how the intervention may be incorporated efficiently in clinical practice. The results are intended to encourage mainstream adoption of practical interventions to reverse clinical frailty and build resilience in primary care. An intervention with ten recommended resistance exercises and dietary guidance on protein consumption has been derived from findings of our systematic review and meta-analysis and optimised through a patient and public involvement (PPI) process and feasibility study.

The primary objective of this study is to assess if the unstandardized field exercise challenge test (ECT) using AsthmaTuner can be performed independently by youths that have been investigated for asthma. This is an open feasibility study including youths who have been investigated for asthma. Participants will be equipped with a digital spirometer and mobile phone app to perform an exercise tests in their natural training environment. Feasibility will be evaluated using questionnaires.

There is a need for better preventive and abortive therapies for migraine. Previous research has indicated that non-invasive neurostimulation may have prophylactic effects on migraine and improve symptoms and functional outcomes in migraineurs. One such method is a non-invasive transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). This double-blind randomized sham-controlled two-parallel-arm study aims to evaluate efficacy and safety of tDCS self-delivered in daily 20-minute applications for 2 months (60 days) by adult migraine patients at home for migraine prevention and migraine symptom management, as compared to sham tDCS application; and to evaluate patients' satisfaction with the procedure.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of art-therapeutic management on a patient with cancer, during chemotherapy treatment, on the reduction of physical or psychological symptoms. Art therapy is a non-drug approach that can help some patients cope with the consequences of cancer beyond the care provided. The common psychosocial difficulties experienced by cancer patients are pain, fatigue, depression, anxiety, drowsiness. In sum, the well-being and quality of life of the patient throughout the illness. The main objective is to evaluate the impact of art therapy, as a supportive care, on improving the well-being felt after a session of cancer treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, ...), during 6 sessions( around 24 days between 2 sessions) , at patients with a cancer pathology using two questionnaires, one on the evaluation of symptoms (ESAS), the other on the quality of life (FACT-G).

Liposomal bupivacaine injectable suspension (Exparel), manufactured by Pacira Pharmaceuticals, is an FDA-approved, long-lasting nonopioid analgesic that is indicated for single-dose infiltration in adults to produce postsurgical local analgesia. Exparel's extended bioavailability allows for 48 hours of pain control. Periarticular infiltration of liposomal bupivacaine has been safely and effectively used for total knee arthroplasty as an alternative to FNBs, avoiding transient quadriceps weakness and potential in-hospital falls. Recently Exparel has been FDA approved for interscalene brachial plexus nerve block to produce postsurgical regional analgesia for upper extremity/shoulder procedures. It is not yet approved for peripheral nerve blocks of the lower extremity. No study to date, to our knowledge, has evaluated the efficacy of single-dose adductor canal blockade with Exparel compared to femoral nerve catheter with bupivacaine. We pose that Exparel used for an adductor canal block can offer the benefit of a single-dose injection with extended pain control without the burden of an indwelling catheter and to avoid adverse events of femoral nerve blockade related to quadriceps weakness and dysesthesias. The purpose of this study is to determine whether adductor canal blockade with liposomal bupivacaine (Exparel) is a safe and effective alternative to femoral nerve catheters for post-operative pain control for patients undergoing ACL reconstruction.

Open globe injuries (OGI) are among the main causes of blindness or irreversible severe reduction in visual acuity in the world. An estimated 2.3 million people live with bilateral low vision and nearly 19 million live with blindness or unilateral low vision due to such trauma. Pre-surgical prophylaxis to prevent serious infectious complications such as endophthalmitis is frequently performed, however, there are discrepancies in its performance between services as there is no proven superior protocol. Different combinations of antibiotics and administration routes are currently used. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the use of topical moxifloxacin 0.5% ophthalmic solution (Vigamox®) in the prophylaxis of acute endophthalmitis in patients with OGI. This is a prospective, controlled, randomized, single-center study conducted in patients diagnosed with OGI at the Clinical Hospital of São Paulo State University, Campinas. Volunteers who present OGI and sign the informed consent form (ICF) will be randomized into 2 groups: in group A, volunteers will undergo pre-surgical prophylaxis with the use of topical 0.5% moxifloxacin eye drops every 3 hours until the surgery. In group B, the volunteers will receive pre-surgical prophylaxis as it is currently done in the service, with cefazolin 1 gram every 6 hours and ciprofloxacin 400 milligrams intravenously every 12 hours, prior to surgery. Intraoperative and post-surgical care will be the same for both groups and will continue to be carried out in line with the current service protocol. Patients will be followed for 45 days, with a complete ophthalmological evaluation that aims to verify the incidence of endophthalmitis in both groups. It is expected to find an equal or lower incidence of endophthalmitis in the group that received topical administration of moxifloxacin.

Our study will evaluate the health related quality of life (HRQoL) after a thyroidectomy and the relevance of postoperative hypoparathyroidism. The patients submitted to a total thyroidectomy will be evaluated with three questionaries (SF-36, Hospital HADS and a specifically designed Likert-type questionary about the intensity of hypoparathyroidism symptoms). The first evaluation will be before the surgery, and the other two will be completed a week and a month after the procedure.

Patients with a transient ischemic attack (TIA) are at high risk of stroke. Rapid assessment and treatment can reduce the risk. Several international guidelines recommend a test, the ABCD2 score, to identify TIA patients with low and high risk for stroke. The main purpose of this study is to investigate stroke risk after TIA in both short (1 week) and long term (3 months/1 year), and to assess whether the ABCD2 score ('Age, blood pressure, clinical features, duration of TIA, diabetes score) is an adequate tool for predicting stroke risk. Secondary aims are to explore whether adopting imaging modalities (ultrasound, MRI) and biological markers of blood into a risk score could improve the predictive value of the ABCD2 score and still be feasible in a daily clinical practice. Further on overall risk factors in TIA patients, and the incidence of other vascular events will be studied. A substudy designed as a randomised controlled trial evaluates pharmaceutical counseling in a subset of participants. Cost-benefit analysis, and a long-term follow-up (5 years) is planned.

The prevalence of diabetes and hyperglycaemia in surgical patients is rising and associated with grater complication rates, length of stay and mortality rates. Suboptimal glucose management in the perioperative setting remains a major barrier to optimal surgical care. While there are guidelines to manage perioperative diabetes care, implementation is challenging and inconsistent, in part due to a stretched workforce, involvement of several disciplines and clinical teams and shortcomings in clinical training and knowledge. Closed-loop glucose control represents an emerging diabetes treatment modality that autonomously adjusts insulin delivery according to continuously measured glucose levels. The use of fully automated closed-loop insulin delivery may represent an easy-to-adopt approach for safe and effective perioperative diabetes management.
