NCT01897519
This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of ABT-719 in patients undergoing high risk major surgery.
NCT00236067
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational anti-anxiety medication relative to placebo in patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
NCT01469754
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a well-documented phenomenon that occurs in cancer survivors. PTSD is known to cause problems with anxiety, depression, and quality of life. Furthermore, there is little treatment available for cancer survivors who suffer from PTSD. Posttraumatic Growth, however, is a lesser known phenomenon that also occurs in cancer survivors. It is a positive psychological phenomenon that occurs in some people who have suffered a traumatic event--the people who are able to note a "greater appreciation for life", a "stronger relationship with their family/friends," or a "new found level of spirituality" are examples of instances of posttraumatic growth. Coping with Lymphoma to Enhance Adjustment and Reduce Stress in Survivors (CLEAR Stress) is a study designed to compare the development of PTSD versus the development of Posttraumatic Growth in lymphoma patients at any stage of the cancer experience, regardless of treatment. The hypothesis is that posttraumatic growth, if it is significant, can reduce the impact of PTSD symptoms in the survivor.
NCT00933985
This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of obatoclax mesylate when given together with vincristine sulfate, doxorubicin hydrochloride, and dexrazoxane hydrochloride in treating young patients with relapsed or refractory solid tumors, lymphoma, or leukemia. Obatoclax mesylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the proteins needed for cell growth and causing the cells to self-destruct. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vincristine sulfate, doxorubicin hydrochloride, and dexrazoxane hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving obatoclax mesylate together with combination chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells.
NCT00513435
This phase II trial is studying the how well saracatinib works in treating patients with metastatic or recurrent head and neck cancer. Saracatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth
NCT00468481
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the study drug is safe and effective
NCT01855620
Two-thirds of young women in the United States are overweight or obese. This excess weight may affect how their body metabolizes drugs such as different birth control methods. There is a not a lot of research about how excess weight could affect the hormone levels of the contraceptive implant. Methods like the implant contain only progesterone, which is a hormone that does not increase a woman's risk of blood clot. These methods would be preferred for overweight and obese women because excess weight also increases a woman's risk of blood clot. The investigators propose a study comparing blood hormone levels of women using the implant for at least twelve months and in all weight categories. The investigators hope to show that all women, regardless of weight, will have hormone levels high enough to prevent pregnancy.
NCT00003141
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctors to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating infants with malignant brain or spinal cord tumors.
NCT01563978
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of fostamatinib compared to placebo on ambulatory blood pressure in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis who are taking a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD). The study will last for 57 days.
NCT01073228
This study is being conducted to determine the safety and effect on cognitive function of the investigational medication, EVP-6124, in individuals with mild to moderate probable Alzheimer's disease.
NCT01462032
This study is designed to evaluate two potential treatments for children with Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) that do not involve the use of medication. Our goal is to develop new interventions for preschoolers with ADHD that will result in enduring reductions of ADHD symptoms and associated impairments in children, and thus prevent long-term difficulties characteristic of many children with ADHD. Both interventions involve weekly playgroups (of roughly five children) in which children engage in designated activities while parents engage in groups focusing on parent education, support, and their children's activities. It is hypothesized that both interventions will be helpful, but that only one will have lasting effects well beyond the end of active treatment.
NCT01185288
This study will investigate the efficacy of both low and high doses of methotrexate (MTX) in combination with open-label adalimumab (ADA) in patients who have had an inadequate response to high dose of MTX. The study will also evaluate the pharmacokinetics and safety of the two regimens of MTX in combination with ADA in participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
NCT00968851
This study is being conducted to determine the safety and effect on cognitive function of two different doses of an investigational medication, EVP-6124, in individuals with schizophrenia who are on chronic stable atypical anti-psychotic therapy. In addition, behavioral and psychotic symptoms will be evaluated.
NCT00425321
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of 100, 200, and 300 mg/day doses of RWJ-445380 for up to 12 weeks in patients with active Rheumatoid Arthritis despite methotrexate therapy.
NCT01808105
To evaluate growth and tolerance of healthy term infants fed experimental infant formulas, a commercial infant formula and human breast milk.
NCT00093613
This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of sorafenib in treating patients with recurrent or progressive malignant glioma. Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by stopping blood flow to the tumor and by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth.
NCT00951938
The purpose of this study is to utilize Trinity Evolution in conjunction with an interbody spacer and supplemental anterior fixation of the surgeon's choice and to follow the patients to measure the clinical outcomes and rate of fusion. The hypothesis of the study is that Trinity Evolution combined with an interbody spacer and supplemental anterior fixation will result in fusion rates and clinical outcomes similar to those with other routinely used autograft and allograft materials including: fusion, improvement in pain and function, maintenance of upper extremity neurological function, and absence of serious adverse events related to the use of the Trinity Evolution product.
NCT00566449
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of JNJ-31001074 compared to placebo in adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
NCT00471536
This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well pazopanib works in treating patients with metastatic urothelial cancer. Pazopanib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor.
NCT01688947
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of 2 dose levels of V116517 versus placebo.
