NCT01993186
The primary objectives of the study are to evaluate the efficacy of UX007 compared to placebo as measured by the reduction from randomization to Week 8 in frequency of seizures and to evaluate the safety of UX007 via adverse event (AE) rates, laboratory values, and electrocardiogram (ECG).
NCT02589665
The main purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that treatment with mirikizumab is superior to placebo in providing clinical benefit to participants with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC). This study will also investigate how the body processes the drug.
NCT04182282
This research study will evaluate the CARES Dementia-Friendly Hospitals online training and certification program for Allied Health Workers (nursing assistants, dietary aides, housekeeping employees, hospital transporters, lab/x-ray techs, and unit secretaries) who work in a hospital or medical center. Participants who sign up for this study will complete two 1-hour assessments (on day 1 and day 45). Participants will be randomly assigned into either an "immediate group" (where Participants complete the online training as part of the research study) or a "control group" (where Participants receive access to the online training at the end of the study). The online training and certification will take Participants approximately 6 hours to complete. To participate, Participants must be an allied health worker working at a hospital or medical center, have access to a computer/tablet/smart phone with Internet access, be comfortable reading and speaking in English, and age 21 or older. Deadline to begin the study: January 31, 2020
NCT00304031
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving radiation therapy together with temozolomide may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which schedule of temozolomide when given together with radiation therapy is more effective in treating glioblastoma or gliosarcoma. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying two different schedules of temozolomide to compare how well they work when given together with radiation therapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma or gliosarcoma.
NCT01790243
The primary objective of the LEVANT 2 Extended Follow-up Post-Approval Study (PAS 1) is to evaluate the long-term performance of the Lutonix Drug Coated Balloon (DCB) versus Percutaneous Transluminal Balloon Angioplasty (PTA) in the treatment of stenosis or occlusion of the femoropopliteal arteries.
NCT02297581
The study will assess patients with at least one major AE related to treatment / hospitalization / immobilization in the Geriatric Fracture Center (GFC) group compared to the usual care group.
NCT03968835
This is a prospective study looking to evaluate whether the treatment outcomes for patients who sustain a distal fingertip amputation are improved or no different when using biological dressings versus artificial dressings.
NCT04396327
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness, safety and tolerability of a combination drug product (SM-1) containing diphenhydramine, zolpidem and lorazepam, in adult participants who sometimes have difficulty in falling asleep or staying asleep, but who do not have chronic insomnia. Participants will receive SM-1 or a combination of diphenhydramine and lorazepam during 2 one-night stays at a sleep center.
NCT03403712
Multicenter, randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel group, stratified study assessing the safety and describing the efficacy of a single dose of intravenous (IV) fosnetupitant/palonosetron (260 mg/0.25 mg) infusion \[test\] versus oral netupitant/palonosetron (300 mg/0.5 mg) combination \[control\]; each administered with oral dexamethasone prior to initial and repeated cycles of AC chemotherapy in female breast cancer patients.
NCT02903966
This study is the first experience with GSK2982772, a receptor-interacting protein-1 (RIP1) kinase inhibitor, in subjects with active ulcerative colitis (UC). The primary objective will be to investigate the safety and tolerability of repeat oral doses of GSK2982772 60 mg or placebo three times daily for 42 days (Part A) followed by open label with GSK298772 60 mg three times daily for 42 days (Part B). In addition to pharmacokinetics (PK), a number of experimental and clinical endpoints will be employed to obtain information on the pharmacodynamics (PD), and preliminary efficacy in subjects with active UC. Although no formal hypothesis will be tested, these endpoints will enable a broader understanding of the mechanism of action and potential for clinical efficacy of GSK2982772 in UC. Within 30 Days of screening visit, subjects will be randomized to receive either GSK2982772 60 mg or placebo orally three times daily for 42 Days (6 weeks) in a 2:1 ratio in Part A study. Subjects who complete the Part A study will move to open label Part B study to receive GSK2982772 60 mg three times daily for an additional 42 Days (6 weeks). After the open label (Part B) treatment period, subjects will enter the Follow-up period which lasts for 28 Days (+/- 3 Days) post the last administration of study medication. The total duration of participation in the study will be approximately 20 Weeks from screening to the last study visit.
NCT02614287
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the longer term safety of the study drug known as galcanezumab in participants with episodic or chronic migraine.
NCT03425396
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of oral omadacycline as compared to oral nitrofurantoin in the treatment of female adults with cystitis.
NCT03219320
To evaluate the efficacy of multiple dose levels of NYX-2925 versus placebo in treating the neuropathic pain associated with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.
NCT03034772
A previous pilot study demonstrated that commonly available glaucoma drops (dorzolamide-timolol) might decrease the amount of chronic swelling in patient with wet age-related macular degeneration who have been receiving anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections. This will be a larger study where subjects are randomly assigned to receive the glaucoma drops or a placebo (artificial tears) in order to confirm whether this previous finding is valid. Subjects will continue to receive the normally scheduled anti-VEGF injections at regular intervals as done prior to enrollment. The only addition to the regimen will be the daily use of eye drops (dorzolamide-timolol or artificial tears) twice daily for the duration of the study. At the end of the study, the swelling in the retina will be compared to the amount before starting the drops to see if there is any difference between the group using dorzolamide-timolol versus artificial tears.
NCT01290367
The purpose of this study is to compare two doses of immunoselected, culture-expanded, nucleated, allogeneic adult MPCs when combined with hyaluronic acid to two control intradiscal injections in subjects with chronic low back pain due to moderate Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) at one lumbar level from L1 to S1. All investigational subjects in this study will undergo injection of either 6 million (M) or 18M cells in a hyaluronic acid carrier into the degenerated lumbar disc's nucleus pulposus. All control subjects will undergo an intradiscal control injection with either saline or hyaluronic acid only
NCT01290029
The primary objective of the study was to evaluate the safety and tolerability of cinacalcet after a single oral dose in children aged 28 days to less than 6 years with chronic kidney disease receiving dialysis.
NCT01826448
The purpose of this research study is to test the safety of an investigational new drug called PLX3397 when used in combination with Vemurafenib (Zelboraf™) at different dose levels. Vemurafenib has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/European Medicines Agency (EMA) for the treatment of a specific category of unresectable or metastatic melanoma.
