NCT03160898
The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of CK-2127107 (hereafter referred to as reldesemtiv) versus placebo on respiratory function and other measures of skeletal muscle function in patients with ALS.
NCT02496767
This study assessed the effect of tirasemtiv versus placebo on respiratory function in patients with ALS.
NCT00948428
At the end of the study, safety and efficacy outcome measures will be compared to determine a) if dosing with Generic Imiquimod cream, 5% is therapeutically equivalent to the currently marketed Aldara (imiquimod) cream, 5% and b) if both imiquimod 5% creams are superior in comparison to the Vehicle cream.
NCT04249713
Phase 0 Study of an alternative dosing interval of Brodalumab in patients with moderate to severe Hidradenitis Suppurativa to identify biomarkers of disease activity and clinical response.
NCT03036124
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of dapagliflozin on the incidence of worsening heart failure or cardiovascular death in patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction
NCT00257725
This study will evaluate if Ritalin LA™ is safe and effective for ADHD treatment in 4-to-5-year olds.
NCT02263079
This randomized, controlled, parallel group, open-label multicenter study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of a combination of pegylated interferon alfa-2A (Pegasys) plus lamivudine or entecavir compared with an untreated control group in participants with HBeAg positive CHB in the immune tolerant phase. NOTE: STUDY RECRUITMENT HAS BEEN TERMINATED
NCT01324427
Telemedicine is a new area of health care where medical information is transferred through audiovisual media, such as a computer or a video camera, for the purpose of remote doctor's visits or examinations. This new area of health care is important to test because it can potentially provide real-time interactions between the patient and their health care team, including phone conversations, online communication, and/or home visits. Many activities such as a history review or physical examination can be conducted virtually as compared to the traditional face-to face visits. The purpose of this study is to determine patient and health care team acceptance of a "virtual medical visit" as a substitute for a "face to face" visit for patients either preparing to receive a stem cell transplant or previously received a stem cell transplant.
NCT01175980
This phase II trial studies how well vorinostat works in treating patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma that has come back (recurrent) or that has spread from where it started to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Vorinostat may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
NCT04540185
In this randomized double blind Phase 3 clinical trial we will study the efficacy and safety of oral polio vaccine with and without NA-831 versus placebo.
NCT01454570
It is well appreciated that an extreme sedentary lifestyle from paralysis, contributes to many secondary medical problems such as diabetes and insulin resistance, obesity, constipation, poor blood pressure regulation, cardiovascular disease, reduced quality of life, and more. The ReWalk-I exoskeleton walking device permits investigation of the potential benefits of frequent upright posture and walking on many of the secondary consequences of spinal cord injury. The researchers are investigating the ability of persons with paraplegia to learn to stand and walk with the ReWalk-I and the effects of being upright and walking on several of these secondary medical consequences of spinal cord injury.
NCT02613572
Because of its iron-chelating and antioxidant properties, alpha lipoic acid may be a treatment for geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration. There is ample published data about the safety and pharmacokinetics of alpha lipoic acid in adults. However, there is not much data on the safety and tolerability of higher doses of alpha lipoic acid in the elderly population. The purpose of Phase I of this protocol is to determine if there are safety/tolerability concerns seen when higher doses of alpha lipoic acid are taken by subjects 65 years of age or older. The objective of Phase 2 of this protocol is to determine the effects of ALA on the progression of GA in subjects with AMD. The central hypothesis, based on the existing literature, is that oral ALA reduces the rate of enlargement of GA in AMD subjects. The rationale is that the antioxidant and iron chelating effects of ALA will slow down one of the major pathways responsible for GA progression.
NCT03539549
The objective of this study is to evaluate abicipar pegol for safety and treatment effects in participants with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
NCT02278367
This study is designed to expand the database of flortaucipir F 18 safety and tau binding as measured by PET imaging and to provide standardized conditions for flortaucipir PET use, data collection and analysis to facilitate companion studies including, but not limited to, longitudinal studies of aging, depression, and traumatic brain injury.
NCT01693367
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of Dynamic Locking Screws (DLS) used to stabilize the shaft component of distal femur fractures in comparison to standard locking screws (SLS). The hypothesis is that DLS will lead to better functional outcomes (WOMAC score) due to increased and more symmetrical callus formation and fewer non-unions.
NCT01762124
The purpose of this early feasibility study is to determine how a new transcatheter pulmonary valve will move and perform once implanted in the right ventricular outflow tract.
NCT02983227
A study to evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of GDC-0853 in participants with moderate to severe active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) who have completed 12 weeks of study treatment in Study GA29350. Eligible participants from Study GA29350 who elect to participate will receive treatment with GDC-0853 twice daily (BID) in an open-label fashion for 52 weeks, followed by a safety follow-up period of 8 weeks.
NCT02272972
This study consists of a retrospective and a prospective part. For each part and in each of 5 clinics, one intraoperative postimplant image (lateral view) of 25 patients with pertrochanteric fractures will be assessed by 5 surgeons per clinic. There are two assessments in the retrospective part. a) before an educational intervention, b) after the educational intervention. The evaluated images at these two timepoints are identical. In the prospective part, the surgeons apply their new knowledge from the educational intervention. They perform the positioning of the patient during the intraoperative fluoroscopy and record the image according to the teaching material. One postimplant image of each patient will be used for the evaluation. At all three timepoints of image assessment, a questionnaire with the same set of 7 criteria (Q1-Q7) for assessing the radiographs is used. The criteria refer to the content of the educational material.
NCT01121159
Accuracy of posttraumatic orbital reconstruction of the medial orbital wall and/or floor is better with preoperatively preformed orbital implants than with non-preformed orbital implants.
NCT02174848
Patients with PKAN will be treated with the iron chelator deferiprone for 18 months. Only patients who have completed the earlier study TIRCON2012V1 (NCT01741532), a double-blind placebo-controlled trial in which participants were randomized to receive either deferiprone or placebo for 18 months, are eligible to enroll.
