NCT00780507
The present study will analyze fecal levels of FC and FL in UC patients who relapse (flare) while on a QD or a BID Asacol treatment regimen and compare those levels to levels of FC and FL in UC patients who do not relapse (flare).
NCT01695720
The purpose of the study is to accumulate efficacy data on VisionScope Imaging (VSI) for pre-operative diagnosis of certain knee injuries (meniscal and articular cartilage injuries). The study will compare VSI's accuracy to MRI's in diagnosing the same injuries. The hypothesis is the VisionScope Imaging system will be able to provide direct visualization and diagnostic images of inside the joint capsule space without fluid distention in the knee. This study will provide valuable feedback on the ability of the VisionScope system to provide physicians with the information they need to make a definitive diagnosis.
NCT01799317
The study outlined is designed to measure and to determine whether the combined use of vitamin D2 (ergocalciferoI) and 1-alpha-hydroxyvitamin D2 (doxercalciferol)) or doxercalciferol alone will correct the mineralization defect in pediatric patients with established secondary hyperparathyroidism (2°HPT) undergoing regular peritoneal dialysis. Serum phosphorus levels will be controlled with a calcium¬-free-metal free phosphate binder; (obtained at baseline and after 8 months of treatment) sevelamer. Indices of bone mineralization obtained at baseline and after 8 months of treatment will be measured by quantitative histomorphometry in iliac crest bone biopsies after double tetracycline labeling. Immunohistochemistry will be done in specimens of bone biopsies from iliac crest to examine the expression for selected markers of bone turnover and mineralization such as FGF-23, DMP1, MEPE and OPG. Serum PTH levels will be measured with the 1st and 2nd generation immunometric assay (PTH-IMAs) and fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) will be determined by one assay with specific detection antibodies that are against epitopes within the C-terminus of FGF-23 and another assay that uses antibodies against epitopes within the N- and C-terminal portions of the molecule respectively. The value of non-invasive assessment of bone mass by quantitative computed tomography (QCT) and its relationship with vascular disease determined by ultrasound (US) of intimal carotid thickness (CIMT) will be correlated with bone histomorphometry and the different biochemical determinations.
NCT00006102
Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of rebeccamycin analogue in treating children who have solid tumors or non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.
NCT00003765
Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of O6-benzylguanine and carmustine in treating children who have refractory CNS tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells.
NCT00055835
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, paclitaxel, gemcitabine, and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Giving chemotherapy before radiation therapy, and combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy, may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of neoadjuvant gemcitabine, paclitaxel, and carboplatin followed by cisplatin and radiation therapy in treating patients who have locally advanced or recurrent carcinoma (cancer) of the urothelium.
NCT01110720
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of davunetide for the treatment of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
NCT01710033
This was a Phase 1 dose escalation study to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of 28-day treatment of CP-690,550 in stable renal allograft recipients. In Stage 1, ascending doses of CP-690,550 were to be administered sequentially to 3-4 cohorts of subjects. After Stage 1, one dose level was to be selected for dosing in an expanded cohort in Stage 2.
NCT00485173
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the investigational implant (INFUSE® Bone Graft/PEEK Interbody Spacer/Anterior Cervical Plate) as a method of facilitating spinal fusion at a single level from C3-C7 in patients with symptomatic cervical degenerative disc disease.
NCT00316953
This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of dasatinib in treating young patients with recurrent or refractory solid tumors or Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia or chronic myelogenous leukemia that did not respond to imatinib mesylate. Dasatinib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth
NCT00124605
Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as arsenic trioxide and pamidronate, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Arsenic trioxide and pamidronate may also stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Pamidronate may also stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Giving arsenic trioxide together with pamidronate may kill more cancer cells. This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of arsenic trioxide and pamidronate in treating patients with advanced solid tumors or multiple myeloma
NCT00507936
This study will compare the efficacy and the safety of ABT-894 (1mg, 2mg or 4mg capsules) administered BID to placebo in the treatment of DNP. Another treatment arm will be Duloxetine 60mg administered once daily (QD). Approximately 275 subjects will be enrolled into the study at approximately 50 sites in both the United States and Europe. The study will be divided into the following periods: Screening/Washout (21 days) followed by a Baseline Visit, an 8-week Treatment Period and a 1-week Follow-up Visit.
NCT01324752
The purpose of this study is to determine if Losartan potassium is affected by PA21.
NCT01293461
The purpose of this study is to assess safety and tolerability and determine the pharmacokinetics of subcutaneous single and multiple (up to 12) dose administration of CBX129801 (long-acting synthetic C-peptide) in type 1 diabetes patients.
NCT00910845
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of botulinum toxin type A (onabotulinumtoxinA) in treating patients with idiopathic overactive bladder with urinary incontinence.
NCT00137345
The purpose of this study is to determine if one drug is superior to another with regard to safety and the preservation of renal function after a kidney transplant.
NCT00853385
This is a comparative study of CP 690,550, Humira (adalimumab) and placebo on background methotrexate in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. The study is intended to provide evidence of the efficacy and safety of CP 690,550 when dosed 5 mg and 10 mg twice a day on background methotrexate in adult patients with moderate to severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is intended to confirm the benefits of CP-690,550 in improving signs and symptoms and physical function that were observed in Rheumatoid Arthritis. An active comparator, adalimumab, is also included.
NCT00640419
The purpose of this study is to test if the investigational medication ABT-089 is a safe and effective treatment for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
NCT00686933
The objective of this study is to evaluate the long-term effects and tolerability of ABT-089 in adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
NCT00897858
RATIONALE: Studying samples of cerebrospinal fluid from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors identify biomarkers related to cancer. PURPOSE: This laboratory study is studying cerebrospinal fluid proteins and angiogenesis proteins in young patients with newly diagnosed central nervous system tumors.
