RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid in treating patients who have advanced primary or metastatic solid tumors that have not responded to previous therapy.

RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of monoclonal antibody therapy in treating patients who have prostate cancer that no longer responds to antiandrogen therapy.

The purpose of this study is to learn if men with metastatic prostate cancer and rising Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), who have been surgically castrated or are undergoing androgen deprivation with Luteinizing Hormone Releasing Hormone (LHRH) treatment, respond to dasatinib. The safety of this treatment will also be studied.
