NCT00100997
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as 17-N-allylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It may also stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of 17-N-allylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin in treating patients with chronic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia that did not respond to imatinib mesylate.
NCT00004132
RATIONALE: Keratinocyte growth factor may prevent symptoms of mucositis in patients receiving radiation therapy and chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to study the effectiveness of keratinocyte growth factor in preventing oral mucositis in patients who have hematologic cancers and who are undergoing radiation therapy and chemotherapy before autologous peripheral stem cell transplantation.
NCT00112983
RATIONALE: Chemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming, growing, or coming back. The use of eculizumab may prevent leukemia and stop the destruction of red blood cells in patients with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well eculizumab works in treating patients with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria.
