This IDE study is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, multi-center clinical study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of patient treatment with MPP compared to patient treatment with standard BiV pacing at 9 months. The study will be conducted at a maximum of 50 investigational centers located in the United States. A maximum of 506 subjects implanted with the Quadripolar cardiac resynchronization therapy device (CRT-D) system will be enrolled in the study.

The purpose of the study is to identify if the combined use of cardiac troponin enzyme (cTnT) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) can predict Heart Failure (HF)improvement and all-cause mortality in patients implanted with cardiac pacemaker-defibrillation devices (CRT-D). Novel biochemical markers identifying patients with high risk cardiac mortality detected by plasma protein analysis will also be evaluated. Hypothesis #1: The combined use of cTnT and BNP at just before implant will predict and risk stratify all cause mortality or HF hospitalization up to 12 months. Hypothesis #2: The change in levels of said biomarkers at different points of follow-up can predict response to CRT through 12 months. Hypothesis #3: The levels of a panel of novel inflammatory mediators, namely chemokines, will be correlated with improvement in 6-minute walk testing, quality of life, and left ventricular ejection fraction in CRT patients.

The PREDICT study is to develop and validate a diagnostic blood ASGES (age, sex, gene expression score) or Corus CAD for atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD). The Corus CAD (Age/Sex/Gene Expression score - ASGES) will use quantitative real-time PCR (RT-PCR) to quantify the expression of multiple genes from circulating peripheral blood cells to assess the presence of clinically significant CAD in a patient.

Studies have demonstrated nitrite therapy increases adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis in skeletal muscle mitochondria concomitant with reduced whole-body oxygen cost during steady state exercise. Our own work has demonstrated safety and efficacy of an FDA investigational new drug (IND) approved sodium nitrite (10 milligram \[mg\]) capsule, and its utility to upregulate the sirtuin 3 adenosine monophosphate protein kinase (SIRT3-AMP) pathway of skeletal muscle of younger heart failure (HF) patients. It now seems exceptionally logical and opportune to apply these insights to older HF patients and to delineate mechanisms of disease and aging that respond to nitrite therapy.

Develop an evidence-based intervention aimed at patients with heart failure (HF) using color-coded cue cards to assist in the selection of foods appropriate to their sodium restricted diet. The milligram per serving sodium content of foods will be assigned color-coded green/yellow/red designation according to very low/moderate/high as identified by the United States Food and Drug Administration's definitions of sodium content. Assess patient knowledge of foods with sodium content appropriate for consumption on a low sodium diet before implementation of the intervention by calculating average milligrams of sodium per serving via choices made through simulated grocery store shopping. Evaluate application of patient knowledge about low-sodium food choices using a simulated grocery store shopping intervention by calculating average milligrams of sodium per serving via choices made using the color-coded card.

The "Prospective Multicenter Registry On RadiaTion Dose Estimates Of Cardiac CT AngIOgraphy IN Daily Practice in 2017" (PROTECTION-VI) study is a prospective registry and investigator-initiated initiative without third-party funding, which will collect and analyze the radiation dose exposure of Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiographic (CCTA) studies in current daily practice worldwide. Particularly, the study will assess the use of strategies for dose reduction during CCTA. A decade ago, the multicentre observational PROTECTION-I study has revealed that the dose-length-product of CCTA ranges between 568 - 1259 mGy x cm with a median of 885 mGy x cm. This corresponds to an estimated effective dose of approximately 12 mSv. Since then a variety of techniques have been developed and enhanced in order to reduce radiation exposure during CCTA. Recent studies demonstrated feasibility of dramatically reduced effective radiation doses during CCTA (0,1 - 0,3 mSv). This has been executed in small cohorts of patients at scientific expert centers. However, it remains unclear, if such low-level radiation dose exposure may be achieved in clinical routine and if diagnostic image quality is maintained. In order to analyze the magnitude of radiation dose exposure of CCTA in today's clinical practice and the current use of dose-saving techniques, we designed the PROTECTION-VI study. Eventually, this study may contribute to further improving radiation dose exposure for patients undergoing CCTA.

Participants being evaluated for suspected or known Coronary artery Disease (CAD) based on signs and/or symptoms, will be invited to participate in the study. The duration for a participant in the study may range from 2 days to 4-6 weeks. One to four visits to the study doctor will be required. This study will investigate the diagnostic results of gadobutrol-enhanced Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMRI) images regarding the detection (sensitivity) and exclusion (specificity) of coronary artery disease utilizing a uniform image acquisition software. The CMR images will be tested either against the results from routine clinical Coronary Angiography (CA) or those from Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA), which is used as the standard of reference. The CA/CTA may have been performed up to 4 weeks prior to enrollment or be scheduled up to 4/6 weeks after the study. CMRI and CA/CTA images will be collected for an independent image review (blinded read).
