Participation in Part A of the study will last about 10 weeks and may include up to 6 visits. Participation in Parts B, C, D will last approximately 15 weeks and may include up to 9 visits. A pragmatic, randomized clinical trial to evaluate the effect of a heart failure (HF) risk assessment and prevention strategy incorporating HF clinical risk scores (WATCH-DM) with cardiac biomarker (NT-proBNP) paired with a clinical decision support tool to implement an intensive prevention strategy among patients with high risk focused on implementation of evidence-based HF preventive therapies.

The study is a two-arm, multicenter, double-blinded clinical trial testing sequential therapy with rituximab-pvvr followed by abatacept versus rituximab-pvvr alone in new onset T1D. The primary objective is to test whether the C-peptide response to a 2-hour mixed meal tolerance test, will be improved in participants with new onset T1D who are treated with Abatacept after Rituximab-pvvr compared to those treated with Rituximab-pvvr and placebo 24 months after enrollment.
