NCT00497107
The purpose of this study is to conduct a randomised controlled trial (RCT) comparing UFT/LV and UFT/LV + PSK in patients with histological stage IIIa/IIIb colorectal cancer who have undergone curative surgery without residual cancer using 3-year disease free survival (DFS) as the primary endpoint, and also to analyze the 3-year overall survival (OS), compliance, adverse events, quality of life (QOL) and relationship with tumor factors.
NCT00419978
This study is for the patient with colon cancer, who is going to have colon cancer surgery. The purpose of this research study is to examine a specific lymph node, called the sentinel node. Lymph nodes are located throughout your body and cancer may spread by means of those lymph nodes. The sentinel node is the one located closest to your tumor. This study will find out if examining the sentinel node can help to predict disease progression. Since the value of this exam is unknown, taking part in this study will not change your clinical care.
NCT00346099
Panitumumab is a monoclonal antibody. It works by attaching to a protein called epidermal growth factor receptor found on normal and cancer cells. When panitumumab attaches, it blocks another protein called epidermal growth factor (EGF) from attaching to the cell. This is important because, when EGF is blocked, a cell's growth slows down or stops. Panitumumab may also help radiation therapy work. Also because panitumumab is a fully-human antibody, it may be less toxic than other monoclonal antibodies made to block the EGF receptor. Chemotherapy, such as capecitabine and oxaliplatin, works to kill cancer cells directly. Capecitabine given during radiation helps radiation therapy work better. This study is being done to learn how rectal cancer tumors that are not removed surgically respond to treatment with panitumumab and chemotherapy given before radiation therapy begins followed by treatment with panitumumab and capecitabine given with radiation therapy.
