It is used with different treatment options such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery in the treatment of breast cancer, which is common in women among all cancers in the world. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, neuropathy, oral nucositis, constipation, sleep problems, fatigue and alopecia occur due to chemotherapeutic agents applied in the treatment of breast cancer. Due to the lack of information and side effects related to cancer treatment, it negatively affects the adherence to treatment and self-care power of individuals. In this study, it was planned to examine the effect of training given for chemotherapy-related symptoms on self-care power and the management of chemotherapy side effects. Your study was planned as a single-center, randomized controlled quasi-experimental design. The research sample will consist of breast cancer patients aged between 18 and 65 years who were treated at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Hospital between July 2022 and April 2023 and accepted to participate in the study \[26 intervention (experimental) group - 26 control group\]. Intervention and control groups will be determined by using the random numbers table from the simple random sampling method, which is one of the probability sampling methods. In line with Orem's Self-Care Deficit Theory, a training booklet will be created for the management of chemotherapy side effects. Participants in the intervention (experimental) group of the study will be given training on chemotherapy side effects, which lasts 20-30 minutes at the first interview. Patient Information Form, Nightingale Symptom Evaluation Scale and Self-Care Behaviors Inquiry Form will be filled. Patients will be followed up for a total of 5 times during 4 cycles of chemotherapy and will be interviewed face-to-face at each chemotherapy cycle. Data collection tools will be filled in face-to-face interviews, the patient's side effects due to chemotherapy and the methods applied in the face of these side effects will be questioned, suggestions will be given for the control of chemotherapy side effects, and the patient's questions will be answered. No intervention will be applied to the participants in the control group of the study. In this study, it is thought that education and follow-up based on Orem's Self-Care Deficit Theory will contribute to the development of self-care behaviors and effective side-effect management in patients receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer.

This phase Ib trial studies the side effects and best dose onalespib when given together with paclitaxel in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced). Onalespib works by blocking proper processing of proteins that are important for cancer growth. This results in inability of these proteins to work properly. Paclitaxel kills breast cancer cells by interfering with their ability to divide. Giving onalespib together with paclitaxel may be better than giving either one alone in treating patients with breast cancer.

Mechanistic data show that compounds in fruits and vegetables have anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties that can reduce breast cancer risk. However, observational and interventional studies have provided mixed results, and a recent report by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) concludes that the data are insufficient but suggestive that non-starchy vegetables and foods containing carotenoids reduce risk. Measurement error, relatively low levels of carotenoid-rich fruit and vegetable intake in the study populations, emphasis on diet in later adulthood, and confounding factors likely contribute to the weak associations. Therefore, the investigators will conduct a randomized diet intervention trial in young women to assess the extent to which at least 8 to 10 daily servings of deeply pigmented and nutrient dense fruits and vegetables reduces biomarkers of breast cancer risk. The intervention is focused on breastfeeding women because: 1) pregnancy and lactation are normal early life course events; 2) the risk of pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) is increased for up to 10 years postpartum; 3) a dietary intervention to reverse the detrimental molecular changes associated with puberty and pregnancy is more likely to be successful in younger than in older women;4) a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is hypothesized to reduce the inflammation during lactation/weaning and lower PABC risk; 5) postpartum lactating women may be a highly motivated population; and 6) breastmilk provides access to the breast microenvironment and breast epithelial cells to non-invasively assess the diet intervention directly in the breast. Four hundred nursing mothers will be randomly assigned to either the intervention arm, in which they are asked to increase fruit and vegetable intake to at least 8 to 10 daily servings for one year, or to a control condition in which participants receive a dietary guideline for breastfeeding mothers. Women in the intervention arm will receive counseling and boxes of fruits and vegetables for the first 20 weeks, after which they will continue to receive counseling. Changes in DNA methylation and cytokine profiles in breastmilk will be evaluated. Maternal weight and body fat distribution, and infant growth will be monitored. These results will greatly expand our knowledge of how diet alters molecular pathways in a specific organ, ultimately contributing to both breast cancer etiology and prevention.

This study is to assess the feasibility of using a Virtual Reality (VR) headset to provide nature-based Attention-Restorative Therapy (ART) as treatment for cognitive impairment in post-treatment cancer survivors. At ART's foundation is the belief that exposure to nature can improve attention by fully engaging a person in a safe and relaxing experience. This intervention uses a VR headset to expose the participant to nature while overcoming some potential barriers of nature-based interventions like access, physical ability, and bad weather. The goal of this study is to understand if people are willing to use the VR headsets to experience nature virtually, if they find it helpful with cancer-related cognitive impairments (CRCI) symptoms and if they are satisfied with using it. Participants will be asked to use self-management materials (weekly home practice logs, Oculus Go™ and online questionnaires) for 6 weeks. Investigators hope to use information from this small feasibility study to study the effectiveness of the intervention in a larger group of cancer survivors and ultimately to help cancer survivors struggling with cognitive impairments.

This is a translational no-profit study. Our proposal aims at creating a noninvasive Horizontal Data Integration (HDI) classifier for early diagnosis of breast cancer, with the final goal of avoiding in most cases useless biopsies of suspect cases encountered during radiological screening. Women with radiologically identified lesions, BIRADS-3/4/5, smaller than 2 cm by radiological assessment (i.e., radiological T1), will be enrolled and invited to donate peripheral blood samples (35 ml) and urine samples (50 ml). Radiological images as well as demographic and anatomopathological data will be collected. Objective of this project is to develop a HDI classifier enabling early noninvasive diagnosis of breast cancer with similar accuracy compared to breast biopsies. Such classifier will be developed based on the correlation between the molecular profile of peripheral blood (ctDNA, proteins, exosomes) and urine (ctDNA) collected at T0 (baseline, before diagnostic biopsy) and bioptic diagnosis. The assessment of the profile of peripheral blood (ctDNA, proteins, exosomes) and urine (ctDNA) at two time points for diagnosed pT1 breast cancers (T0: baseline, before biopsy; T1: after diagnosis of pT1 breast cancer) will allow us to distinguish between tumor- and host-specific molecular alterations in connection with the presence/absence of breast cancer.

The proposed project will compare two ways to apply a known-effective cancer educational strategy through African American churches: 1) a standard method vs. 2) a new method in which the churches integrate the strategy into their organizational structure and practice at multiple levels. It will be determined whether this "integrated approach" results in more effective and sustained cancer education and screening activities at both the church and individual levels over time. This project will make important contributions to research in evidence-based medicine and sustainability. In a climate of limited resources, identifying sustainable and effective ways to increase cancer awareness and screening in African American men and women is more important than ever.

To compare accuracy of ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) to core needle biopsy (CNB) of ultrasound detected abnormal axillary lymph nodes in patients with newly diagnosed invasive breast cancer or suspected invasive breast cancer. Hypothesis: FNA and CNB have equivalent diagnostic accuracies In order to prove our hypothesis, we will perform FNA and CNB on the same lymph node in each consented patient. The two samples will be evaluated separately by different pathologists blinded to the material in the other sample. The results of the biopsies will be compared to the gold standard (lymph node excision).

This is an open, prospective, multi-center, interventional study to evaluate the benefit and efficacy of individualized self-efficacy coaching for women with high-risk early breast cancer. In total, 6 sites will be assigned 1:1 to either the experimental arm (Group A) or the control arm (Group B). The controlled site assignment will assure a balanced site-specific QoL between both groups at baseline. All patients will be medically treated according to guidelines. The experimental Group A will in addition receive regular self-efficacy coaching.

Aim of the work This study aims to evaluate the possible beneficial role of silymarin in attenuating both doxorubicin related cardiac and hepatic toxicities and paclitaxel associated peripheral neuropathy and improving cognitive impairment in patients with breast cancer. This study will be a randomized placebo controlled parallel study. The study will be performed in accordance with the ethical standards of Helsinki declaration in 1964 and its later amendments. Group one: (Placebo group; n=28) which will receive four cycles of AC regimen (doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide; each cycle was given every 21 day) followed by 12 cycles of paclitaxel (each cycle was given in a weekly basis) plus placebo tablets once daily. Group two: (Silymarin group; n=28) which will receive the same regimen plus silymarin 140mg once daily

Introduction Due to improvements in diagnostics and treatments, the 5-year survival for patients with breast cancer is 80-90% after initial diagnosis. During treatments, patients typically have consultations weekly and then gradually reduce to annual visits. During this transition from hospital-based care to health self-management, the breast cancer survivors are encouraged to e.g. exercise because of accumulating evidence for the efficacy of exercise training in cancer survivorship, and in the majority of cases, adhere to endocrine treatments to reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence. Design and methods The study is a one-arm convergent parallel mixed-methods feasibility intervention study. The quantitative data will be the use of the Bone@bc app (intervention) and questionnaires (n=50) and the Qualitative data will be semi-structured interviews (n= 15 - 20)

According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 108 patients were enrolled and randomly divided into control group (n = 56) and intervention group (n = 52). The control group received routine nursing, while the intervention group received upper limb lymphedema prevention program for breast cancer patients after surgery. Before surgery, at the third chemotherapy (about 2.1 months after surgery) and the sixth chemotherapy (about 4.2 months after surgery), the self-designed general information questionnaire was used to investigate the patient's basic situation, and the corresponding tools were used to measure the volume of the patient's upper arm, the grip strength of the affected arm, and the range of motion of the affected shoulder joint.
