This research trial studies an adherence monitoring system in managing myelosuppression in patients with newly diagnosed malignant gliomas who are receiving temozolomide and radiation therapy. The development of an adherence monitoring system may help doctors more effectively utilize electronic medical records to manage myelosuppression during standard treatment with temozolomide and radiation therapy in patients with malignant gliomas.

Blood samples will be obtained from newly diagnosed GBM patients treated with combined radiotherapy (RT), temozolomide (TMZ) and bevacizumab (BEV) at specific time points. The primary outcome is the shift in T reg cell fraction a defined by determining the proportion of CD4 cells that are CD4+ CD25.

The aim of the study is to define preferential sites of tumour recurrence by observing tracer uptake in the tumour in sequential PET images with 18F-fluoromethylcholine (and perfusion MR, see also below). Changes in the intensity of the tracer uptake in the tumour during and after the course of radiotherapy will be correlated with the site of tumour recurrence as will be assessed by conventional MRI. In due time, these results must enable clinicians to change their therapeutic approach of high-grade glioma.
