Beach tennis, a fast-growing sport since its creation in Italy in the 1970s, has rapidly gained in popularity, particularly in La Réunion sisland since 2000. However, despite its development, studies on beach tennis-specific injuries are rare, based on cross-sectional studies and therefore limited by temporal or memory bias. The need for prospective research is crucial if we are to gain a better understanding of the epidemiology of injuries and improve prevention and medical management. The aim will be to determine the risk of injury among beach tennis players within a one-year national prospective cohort.

This study focuses on understanding the cardiovascular and endocrine responses of young soccer players aged 14 to 18 years to a muscular training program. Adolescence is a critical period for physiological development, and investigating these responses can provide insights crucial for athletic performance and overall health. The benefits include promoting overall health, reducing injury risk, and enhancing scientific knowledge. However, intensive training programs may lead to overtraining and potential negative health outcomes if not carefully monitored. The study aims to assess whether additional neuromuscular development over 12 weeks can enhance players' physical fitness and hormonal changes. By examining these outcomes, the study seeks to inform evidence-based training protocols for optimizing adolescent athletes' health and performance in soccer. The study design involves a prospective single-center randomized cohort to investigate these responses comprehensively.

A prospective cohort design will be used to assess differences in outcomes between pivoting sport athletes with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) who follow usual care and those who follow a treatment algorithm with a RTS and rehabilitation tool. Athletes aged 15-40 at injury with primary ACLR who express a goal to return to sports with frequent pivoting are eligible. The RTS and rehabilitation tool includes standardized clinical, functional and muscle strength testing 6, 8, 10, and 12 months after surgery. Individual test results guide progression in sports participation and the content of further rehabilitation according to a standardized algorithm.

The idea that the use of a wristband can increase the grip strength is old, but without systematic scientific evidence. Most Crossfit practitioners wear wrist bands during training because it is believed that the wristband increases the grip strength of the hand. The aim of this study is to to analyze the influence of the use of the wristband on the maximum force value and on the dynamic resistance of hand hold. A simple blind randomized cross-over trial will be performed.

Background: To compare the pre-season clinical measures with shoulder rotator strength and range of motion between bilateral (swimmers) and unilateral (badminton players) overhead athletes. In this observational case series the investigators would like to investigate wether or not the strenuous activity exerted on over head athletic athletes (ie. javelin throwers, discus throwers) may incite injury on their shoulders. The investigators understood that these athletes had to perform repeated throwing motions and yet reports on their effects are very limited. This condition in the long run may contribute to injury and affecting performance of the athletes. The investigators found that these relationships have not been looked at closely by others and largely overshadowed by athletes in other fields; such injury patterns had been described in details in baseball pitchers but not in other athletes.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a neuromuscular training program in decreasing sport and recreational injuries and improving healthy outcomes in junior high school students (grades 7 to 9). The neuromuscular training program is implemented as a 15-minute warm-up at the beginning of the students' physical education classes over a three-month period. This study is a randomized controlled trial design, involving twelve schools over a three-year period. Upon enrolment into the study, schools are randomly assigned to the intervention (neuromuscular training) group, or the control group. The control group includes a standard-of practice warm-up consisting of aerobic components and static stretching. A study athletic therapist visits the schools each week to assess and record information on any injuries sustained by study participants. Baseline health and physical fitness is measured at baseline, and again at 3-month follow-up in study participants to assess changes over the course of the program.

Low-intensity continuous ultrasound (LICUS) is an FDA-approved bio regenerative technology, applied with a wearable device (SAM, Zetroz Systems LLC) for daily use. The treatment provides long-duration ultrasound for approximately four hours. This report included a retrospective convenience sample of 6 athletes from one sports medicine and rehabilitation facility. The objective of this report is to examine the real-world outcome data on symptoms improvement and return to function using Sam. It was hypothesized that LICUS stimulation, in conjunction with traditional therapies, will accelerate the healing process of musculoskeletal tissue leading to a reduction in pain, increase functionality, and a higher probability of returning to work and sports-related activities. The sample included athletes with sports-related musculoskeletal injuries. Demographics, injury history, treatment history, and clinical outcomes data were retrospectively collected for athletes who were treated with SAM in conjunction with traditional therapies. Clinical results showed a benefit from the treatment with a decrease in pain (100%), and 3 out of 6 athletes were able to return to work or sports (50%). Overall the study shows that Sam accelerates the healing of soft tissue leading to a decrease in both acute and chronic pain.

M-learning has experienced a huge expansion in recent years in both, medical context and medical and health's sciences education. Ultrasound is an important diagnosis technique in physiotherapy, especially in sports pathology. m-Learning environments could be a useful tool for improve the comprehension of ultrasound concepts and the acquisition of professional competencies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and the use of an interactive platform accessible through mobile devices (ECOFISIO) using ultrasound imaging for the development of professional competencies in the evaluation and diagnosis of sports pathologies. Participants were 110 undergraduate students enrolled in two groups of this randomized controlled multicentre study: a control group (traditional learning) and experimental group (ECOFISIO mobile application). All participants were assessed both theoretically and by means of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) exams.

Patients who are intubated (breathing tube in windpipe) are often transported by air ambulance. Changes in atmospheric pressure during flight may cause pressure increases in the air-filled cuff holding the tube in the windpipe. Studies show that more than half the patients had potentially harmful pressures in the cuff during flight. High pressures lead to complications, such as injury to the windpipe. To avoid injury, cuff pressures must be kept at a safe level. There are many ways to avoid unsafe cuff pressures. One is to inflate the cuff with sterile fluid instead of air. Fluids are not subject to changes in atmospheric pressure. Using fluid, instead of air, in the cuff causes less pressure increases and less windpipe injury. The use and safety profile of this during transport by air ambulance has not been studied. This study compares tracheal tube cuff pressures, filled with air or fluid, at routine flying altitudes during patient transports by air ambulance.
